LOL!! Republicans are a bunch of ignorant malcontents, who can be worked into a frenzy about anything. They simply can't live with the reality that they lost the election so badly. Their desperation has lead them to look increasingly insane. Their divorce from reality and retreat into the political netherland of subjective hate and fear, runs counter to the direction of the conciousness of our country. I wouldn't be getting too comfortable right now guys. We've got a solid four years to push through some good policy, but don't forget that the GOP works best when it has its back up against the wall (or at least pretends to appear as such). They like playing the victim card; it goes along well with them being marginalized for their more extreme views.
Keep an ear to the ground. It wasn't long ago us Dems were being left for dead as well.
You're right, they will come back. This country still remains divided right down the middle.
That said, i enjoy watching the GOP look desperate and pathetic. Last night, i found myself watching O'Reilly. He had Rove on and what stood out for me was how sad they looked! They look down and defeated.....i love it!!!!!

PFFFFFFT, not when they admitted to specter that they were ok with losing as many seats and the white house so long as it allowed them to "purify" the party.
The GOP needs a makeover to align themselves not with their personal policy beliefs of greed but with those who they represent. Specter's move signals that the party is too far right to be any use to the people.
Fuck these guys. Were finally loved by our allies and maybe soon American children can get REAL and EQUAL educations through the progressive measures now being emphasized.

yeah, here is an idea from an independent... your party is waaaayyyyy to far to the right. You need moderate platforms to move into the future. You are a party of Old White Men, and old superstitious beliefs. You are losing by attrition. you need some fresh blood and fresh ideas, embrace diversity...
Exactly... and we are not talking about that little drama queen pop tart Palin either... It has to be someone who is actually capable of running this country.
Does this include their New FAX program an promotion? Yeah Fax Machines are today's trend alright. Maybe they should start a telegraph campaign next. Or a Horse Shoeing contest. Or a Buggy Ride competition. I am really disappointed in what I am seeing.
By definition, extremist political parties are not competitive nationally - and yet the Republicans want to tack even further to the right? Have they got a death wish?
Ahhh maybe that is why they are pretty much doing nothing now.. they are waiting until 2010. Imagine if you went to work and said.. I know I don't have my shit together but I will by 2010 so just hang in there... LOL What a joke.
Um, hoaxbuster, are you saying they should only be working on doing a good job as a party when there is an election in progress? Is that the "clue" you want to get across?
Wow, I guess they seem to miss the memo every time they are kicked in the balls, because of the policies, ideology, and extremism their party exhibits.
I wonder if enough of the GOP leadership has the guts and integrity to back off from the extremist, know-nothing element of the party, leaving the Hannity, Malkin, Palin adherents and aim more at the mainstream conservatives in the US.
The best predictor of the future is the past. Unlikely. I expect some sort of charismatic Obama like person to come to the forefront that helps temper the more extreme factions in the party. That or 20 years in exile. ;-)
I'm a big fan of the two party system. It'd just be nice to see the Repubs move to a place where they're showing more care and more regard for the people of the US than big corporations.
Wow. He just admitted the GOP is no longer a national party.

Well the way I look at it, Ron Paul has a romantic message.
However for instance, lets say these "Bankers" had the argument that unlike all other forms of Insurance.
They could offer "Loan Failure Insurance", where they weren't required to charge enough money to actually pay out in the event of a loan failure.
So they charged hardly anything to make bad loans appear as good loans.
How is deregulation of the financial sector good for the public?

yeah, here is an idea from an independent... your party is waaaayyyyy to far to the right.

I tell you we are working really hard to crash this economy right into the ground so we can once again be the National Party.

Sorry "Big John," but repeatedly using the phrase "national party" doesn't automatically make you one.

I love to see John Thune as jumpy as he should have been all these months now, exceeding that level.
Tough shit Thune, and you too Cornyn.
Ha ha.

Indeed.

Ahhh maybe that is why they are pretty much doing nothing now.. they are waiting until 2010. Imagine if you went to work and said.. I know I don't have my shit together but I will by 2010 so just hang in there... LOL What a joke.
MeanieMuff 2 years ago 4
Maybe because there is no congressional election until 2010. Do you expect them to get their senate/house seats right now? Get a clue.
thehoaxbuster 2 years ago
Um, hoaxbuster, are you saying they should only be working on doing a good job as a party when there is an election in progress? Is that the "clue" you want to get across?
nitesead 2 years ago 2
Wow, I guess they seem to miss the memo every time they are kicked in the balls, because of the policies, ideology, and extremism their party exhibits.

I wonder if enough of the GOP leadership has the guts and integrity to back off from the extremist, know-nothing element of the party, leaving the Hannity, Malkin, Palin adherents and aim more at the mainstream conservatives in the US.

The best predictor of the future is the past. Unlikely. I expect some sort of charismatic Obama like person to come to the forefront that helps temper the more extreme factions in the party. That or 20 years in exile. ;-)

I think younger Republicans do; Megan McCain being one of them. IMO, they're their only chance in hell for survival.

I'm a big fan of the two party system. It'd just be nice to see the Repubs move to a place where they're showing more care and more regard for the people of the US than big corporations.
