@mrcoggerman1 No, it's textless communication. Textless as in no text. Text as in writing. They can't email, send text messages, or letters. Talking on the phone is okay.
I just realized that the theme song is Brothers on a Hotel Bed by Death Cab for Cutie. That makes me love you guys even more. I love Death Cab but had never heard that song, so when I did I started freaking out....
@Curriay Actually a week after I read TFiOS my school started a campaign to support an eight-year-old cancer patient. What kind of cancer? Eyeball cancer.
@BunnyWithSunglasses i'm on a mission to watch every vlogbrother's video ever, even if i understand 90% of it. cause i'm weird like that. i watched over 40 videos last night, a little less than 2 months worth. this is going to take.. so long. 860 videos.. and counting. dear god. but the satisfaction is gonna be so worth it(:
John is this when you decided you would use eye cancer in one of your books? I mean there was no way to know it was going to be "The fault in our stars" but had you decided it was interesting enough to be something you would write about?
I love that line bout stress & laundry...altho from your previous vid where the washer was shown to be uber-tiny...yeeeeeeah, I'd have to say I'd stress too XD
I feel like this journey through the old Brotherhood 2.0 archives is something that every Nerdfighter has to do once in their lifetime. Kind of like the pilgrimage to Mecca for Muslims, only you don't have to leave home.
@RandigTiger I started from the very beginning at 9.30 and it's now 3.28 in the afternoon. It's like we're twins. Except not really. But I'd like to give you a high five regardless. :3
I hate being a relatively new Nerdfighter! I have three years of videos to catch up on! 759 x 2,5 minutes each (ca) = 1897.5 minutes. That is 31,6 hours! 31,6 hours of awesome! It's OK though, I'll just sleep next week instead.
People with light colored eyes have a higher chance of getting eye cancer, and I have light green eyes and almost never wear sunglasses. So I think about eye cancer sometimes, because I know I have a higher chance of getting it than most people. But I still don't worry about it too much. It's nothing compared to the likelihood that I'll get skin cancer!!
I've been watching your videos from the start since 8.30 in the morning, and it's now 3.06 in the afternoon. And now I'm on March 7th, 2007. I've just realised that this is going to take a while. Possibly, I'll be stuck here for the rest of this summer. Though I can't really think of a better way to spend a summer...
Randig Tiger... I feel your passion! I started watching these videos again recently, and my god, there is nothing else which seems like it's important.... including work... well maybe except bodily functions, and basic needs. But you can watch these sans pants and no one will even know!
Haha I'm doing the same thing. I started at about 12:00pm and it's now 9:50pm i'm planning to do this entire year in under six days... while attempting to still have a life.. it's going to be made of awesome!!!
Why is it taking everybody else more time, i started at 12am and now its 4:07am and i have to get up for school in 3 hours but its cool because i fell alseep for like 5 hours before waking up and doing this. Still thank you, i feel like less of a loser now.
oh man i hav all of these on autoplay and everytime i try to comment it moves on to the next one and my comment is lost...*sad face* oh well i still luv the brotherhood!!! *nerdfighter sign* bedoodoodoodoo!!
In one of the first few episodes, John compared Sarah to a Yeti because you hear about her a lot in folklore, but you hardly ever get to actually see/hear her.
Basically, John's wife didn't want to be involved in the project and calling her "The Yeti" was the way to solve that. So sometimes we hear her voice or maybe see her hand. Never anything more. We always get really excited when we hear The Yeti's voice.
I was listened as my parents were told that a smudge on my brain scan "might be a tumor, but probably not." I never did get any more information on that, and to this day, despite further scans for other reasons, that comment haunts me... what if it's the world's slowest growing cancer?
50: I remember, on blogTV or somewhere, you told us you changed the prologue of Paper Towns, the part about miracles happening, you took out cancer, cause of your paranoia after this eyeball thing happened. XD
I had to special order looking for alaska! The bookstore doen't carry them! I am now waiting for a phone call...but they said it could take up to 3 weeks! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I am glad I have 20/20 vision... of course, I'm the only person in my family over the age of 13 that doesn't wear glasses... Luckily, it'll stay that way!! Although... my hearing kinda sucks. So maybe that's why my eyes are so good.
A co-worker is doing this on-line dating thingy. There was this guy who seemed to be perfect for her...but then he asked the question "What is the level of stress of your life?" She KNEW that with that answer (if she were honest) he'd be gone. She answered simply.. "Life is not without it's stress." And he closed he out.
Whose life ISN'T stressful? (It's all relative- but still!)
I had my eyes dilated recently... and something about the burn and shifting light perception caused me to become woozy. and then... I passed out in the eye doctor's chair. yes. I am awesome.
A woman I know had ocular cancer: She had to have her eye removed and a prosthesis fitted. One of the (very, very few) positive aspects of ocular cancer is that the anatomy of the eye lends itself to keeping any sort of growth encapsulated. That means that there's little chance of metastasis. Don't get me wrong - cancer of any sort is a Very Bad Thing (tm) - but eye cancer is to be preferred million times over, say, brain cancer.
But I hope you really *don't* have anything to worry about. :)
my mom was born with "eyeball cancer", apparently it was a miracle she lived past five, much less that she got old enough to give birth to my sister and I.
