  • Everyone who says that it's spelled wrong, it's not. Because you say 'Osushi' instead of Sushi sometimes. The "O" makes it polite!

  • what did you put in the center of it?

  • what thing did she put into the rice???

  • VAI TOMAR NO CU

  • what about the seaweed?

  • あらら、ちょっと強く握りすぎたかな?

  • is that flower u put on your hands so it doesnt stick?

  • No. That was salt. PLain fillled onigiri often have the maker weting their hands then adding a smal amount of salt as a flavoring and preservative.

  • oh that makes since, i was like wtf flower?

but ya, when i was experiementing with onigiri i used some salt in the second batch, it make it taste great :)

  • no its salt

  • i might try that. it looks easy.

  • im determined to eat a rice ball before i die!!!! lol

  • @avatarfangirl2009 lol me too

  • do you got to use seasame seed oil?

  • use sticky race.. that only work

  • riceballs.... it's just rice?

  • no sometimes it has other ingredients, like in this video she put an umeboshi (pickled plum), most of the time though there is something in it.

  • um correct me if im wrong but isnt that long grain rice instead of sushi rice but hay it worked dint it ^_^

  • LOL it WAS long grain rice, wth? but yea i guess it did work, ive never even tried with long grain!

  • I love riceballs. XD

But here in the philippines, they eat rice evey breakfast, lunch and dinner for a complete meal.

riceballs are just a few seconds snack for them.

    XD

  • what did she put in the center?

  • I think its a type of plum

  • do u need to have it can u go without it?

  • I dont bother with it since I can't get plums that easy lol

  • strawberry i thought

  • no its a pickled plum but thats not the only thing you can put in a riceball they sometimes put fish and stuff

  • Japanese pickled plums. They're very popular in Japan. :)

  • they have them for every meal

  • i love rice balls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's onigiri, not niguiri

  • they use saly water because japanese rice is very sticky. its stickier then other rice. so u have to use saltwater to help mold

  • its also to flavor the rice, rice can be bland : )

  • LOL Someone messed up at 00:53. (the music)

  • I'M HUNGRY NOW! LOL FAT KIDZ

  • they make it look so easy

  • Ohhhh Wow!!! how creative >.>

  • we bi toes con ham on

  • will it taste as good as u look?

  • where's the nori!!!???

  • howcome you wet your hands in salt water?

  • maybe the salt water helps the rice stay together or it gives it alittle more taste...i'm thinking of making these on my B-day but maybe putting like a blueberry in the middle or something....wonder if it would taste good?

  • because it keeps the rice from not sticking on your hands.

  • I always wanted to try these, but for the first time I actually thought about what that means.

It's just boiled rice with a something on the side, no different than what I eat everyday for diner on a straight-up plate lol

So, I was wondering:is there a version w/ coconut shavings and maybe fruit? THAT sounds like a treat, but just plain rice and filler sounds bland.

I'm gonna use Coconut tonight either way lol, But I'm just curious as to whether or not there was a Traditionally sweet version

  • The red thingy is called Umiboshi (aka sour plum/salt plum/pickled plum. I like to mash it up with green onions and fish flakes. MMMM!!

  • thank you loads ive been trying to figure out how to make them for so long!!!

  • Oh ya its Onigiri not nigiri!

  • @imogenheap12345 it is also called nigiri ,

  • what was that red thingy?? i want to make 1 so can some1 tell me wat it is??

  • Wow! You're my hero! XD

  • you can put tuna, meat such as fish and chiken and beef and other fillings. you also forgot to wrap it with seaweed. (but you dont have to)

  • I gotta try one of those

  • andrea is an boy name

  • mmmm ...yummy!i want 1!

  • isnt this the food they eat in pokemon and called them donuts?

  • LOL, isn't it funny how they call them donuts. It's cause when they did the english voice overs, if they called it rice balls, american kids wouldn't have a clue of what they were talking about.

  • Huh...that made me laugh...then made me feel dumb becuase the Japanese had to simplify it for us American kids lol.

  • dang it i just tried to make one and it tasted like krap. You're supposed to COOK the rice B4 you make the ball, right?

  • yea, you are suppose to cook the rice first

    -___-

did you made them before you cooked the rice??? o____O

  • How on Earth did you manage to make a rice ball without cooking the rice!? O.o
