You should carry your gun with a round in the chamber ready to go. Its not a good idea to have to chamber a round like he is doing, There is a higher chance of it jamming. Also if someone is grabbing you then it will be hard to chamber a round, but if there is one already in it then you can just shoot. The gun wont go off while you're carrying it, that is if it is done properly. A jammed gun or a gun without a round in it is just a heavy paper weight.
very creative with the targets, need to move i little faster tho, and move farther, but all in all, very cool and pretty good brother, i give a 7 out of 10.
ah, but by moving FIRST, you break his aim and begin heading towards cover, while drawing, and the movement conceals the draw a little (i.e. he may just think you are running, not running & drawing). If he is keyed up, when he sees you begin to draw he will fire, when he sees you begin to run he may not - giving you a greater advantage. Just a thought.
If you have to fast draw from concealed carry, it is because your opponent has already drawn (& aimed) their weapon. In that case you should train to move first, and draw on the move rather than draw first.
@checkboard True to a point if someones coming at you drawn what you going to do turn and get shot in the back ? Thats why engage the threat while moving moving to cover like he demostrates.
I notice you're carrying "Israeli style" without a round chambered. I also notice that due to your high level of training, you're still just as fast as someone with a chambered round. Nice vid!
This video is amazing. The only problem is the lack of information. Maybe you can do a follow up explain the tactics in detail. The video goes by so fast, combined with poor video, makes it hard to absorb useful information. Five star video for sure!
i thought the string tied to you was a stroke of genius. overall, not too bad, but i think that racking a round as you draw is jut a bad idea. it leaves room for a negligent discharge. if you feel unsafe carrying a fully loaded gun, cocked and locked, you should consider further training.
The drills are nice, but carrying with an empty chamber is suicide. What if the bad guy shoots first and hits you in your off arm?? What if you are carrying something?? What if you are pulling/pushing someone to safety?? I can list a million reasons as to why carrying with an empty chamber is a bad idea.
@OsirisBitchSlapper Your right , I dont really carry with one in the chamber for safety reason, I already got used to this kind of drill, even if sometimes we practice w/ one in the chamber, I always racked the slide. Israeli always racked thier guns when they draw and IMHO, the tactical advantage to this drill is if your not really sure if the gun is really loaded and it happened to one of my friends, he was in a gunfight and when he draws he's gun to shoot, the gun never went off.
@rpotencion So out of curiosity, what is your contingency plan if your left arm/hand is injured, or otherwise unusable? I'm not trying to critique your method, just curious.
Think the question there was in regards to the fact that your hand can become injured prior to drawing. I'm curious too. Is there any practice racking the gun without the use of your other hand?
@alex94115 Five stars for this video. I am also from the Philippines bro. This is good stuff, call it practical shooting but I call this gunfighting or combat shooting... for real world scenario. Because in the real world, everything is moving, dynamic. Even the dumbest bad guy will move when in a fight, especially when involving guns where one will most likely end up dead.
Awesome! Indeed, I wish I had a backyard in which to do my target shooting ... and the money for lots and lots of practice ammo, as well. :-) Pretty creative and intuitive setup you've got there - maybe put up a vid sometime showing how you rigged it all up? If nothing else, I'd like to be able to replicate this with a softair or CO2 BB gun setup for practicing in-town, in lieu of live ammo practice.

i think its very important i saw this video because i dont think i think about getting a few rounds of that close and not being able to line up my site picture..sometimes there isnt enough time and you have to point shoot bang bang!! good stuff!! and if they say you cant shoot farther than 5 feet..screw em they are all just jealous assholes anyways!! chances are your gonna be within spitting distance anyways..not like some folks think, and you r gonna engage a target at 80 yards with a .380 lol
@satinwarship Lot of shooters here are not interested much on this kinds of shooting, they prefer shooting sports rather than practicing practical shooting techniques, theyre just wasting time and ammo!
thats a pretty sweet little set up. the moving target string thing is really clever. Ive seen some drills of targets charging at you that you could probably do pretty easily with your setup given you get a friend to pull the string to give it that feeling of uncertainty you can get used to
The drill is nice, but he's showing a dangerous technique. Specifically working the slide when u clear the holster. Its dangerous because the gun isn't ready when you need it.
Nice work!. This is definately the way to practice for self defense training. When you shoot at the range, you just aim and shoot. This is much more practicle with having to draw the firearm from the concealed position as well as move and shoot with targets. Much respect and you have much more of a chance of coming out the victor should the need arise.
i practice like this in the back of my place (live in country, acres of land) my family thinks im kinda off, because i do drills like this. got home made targets and such. nice to see a fellow gun owner doing the same.
@MeyerLink89 Many shooters just like to do drills for competition or just static shooting, I prefer to do this kinds of drills coz I think its much more practical than wasting ammo. Thanks for watching!!
@rpotencion agreed!!! i do both kinds hahaha i love to waste ammo!! sometimes when the money is right!! other times its all about shot placement and speed but less spent ammo!
WOW! I loved the video. Did you come up with the drills yourself? and do you do any other drills that you didnt show? Again i loved the video. PI LOVE!
@inyourcup831 thaks for watching! Ive watched a lot of shooting videos and theres always something missing, so Ive come up with drills that I think resmbles on what you have to do on real life scenario! Ive also got other drills that I did not post.! Thaks again!!!
nice shooting. ive only had my CCW for a year im not an expert by any means but if you train to rack one into the chamber before shooting wouldnt that put you at a disadvantage lets say if somehow your left hand was inaccesible? i always draw my xd 40 with one in the chamber but sometimes worry about grazing the trigger on the draw, i just wondered if there is a strategy to racking before engaging other than safety

@drewslapfunkfosho Im not an expert on strategy but training yourself to be prepared in a real life shooting scenario can develop strategy. Whether you carry with one in the chamber or racking the slide, its still up to you how to handle things when worse comes to worse!
@drewslapfunkfosho Something I've learned is to rack your slide on your thigh if your support hand is occupied! I learned this, tried it a few times and it works. Don't get too crazy with it though, or else you will tear up your pants. Just a little advice from one CCW'r to another! Take care!
thanks for watching! Yes this is my property and its where I practice most of the time! Its only located just 100 yrds away from our house, pretty safe, no houses around, just birds and some animals wandering.
Safety is important.....I wish I had a set up like that........one day when I get a house I'm looking for a place where I can set up a shooting range for myself.
the time it takes to chamber a round could get you killed
