We should be moving toward a single-payer program. This is why I don't support Obama care. He took single-payer off the table from the beginning, and even took the compromise (public option) off the table. He left the same industry in place which has caused the bulk of the problems, creating a necessity to do reforms. Such a health-care "reform" bill was anything but the reform that was needed. It is totally immoral to continue supporting the current system. They did nothing to control costs.

I had no idea that people were unable to oppose their government. Thanks for informing us. I say we form some kind of government that works for the people. For instance, if the government were screwing people somehow on healthcare, we could enact some sort of law against it. Maybe we could elect representatives or something. We could call it "democracy." And then we could have a popular system (think Medicare), since it would be in the government's interest to have a good system.

The real answer is competition in the free market. People should be able to choose their healthcare like they chose their cable TV provider or their auto.

This does not mean that today's system is good - it badly needs reform and competition to open up - competition that is STIFLED by the health care companies that are in cahoots with Govt to kill small and medium insurance companies - and Govt regulations that kill competition need to go.
