Although to be absolutely fair, Concorde and I believe the TSR2 'test aircraft' used the same design Olympus engines but did in fact use the re-heat system, which has to be said made the absolutely awe inspiring noise of 4 Olympus turbo jet engines even better with that heavenly eternal crackle, long after the aircraft was not visible.. If that didn't make you feel emotional and humbled, I doubt an awful lot will.........
Always a Pleasure to see this Beautifull Mistress of the Sky's,
[What ever the Occation]
The Day when AVRO Vulcan XH558 / The Flight worthy Victor Bomber which was in the News a while ago and BAC TSR-2 Eagle Interdictor XR220 [Which My Foundation {Still at BETA Stage} Intends to Restore]Can Fly Together as one
i had seen it at the 08 show at waddington but the 09 show at fairford was brilliant the pilot took off with full power and banked over 120 degrees it was such a good sight to see it fly like that because my brothers told me all the storys of how it use to fly and witnessing it for my self was brilliant! :D
I remember seeing this plane at an airshow as a kid thirty odd years ago..I'll never forget the ground shaking, and my eardrums on the virge of splitting..Awesome experience..!! Im glad it's back..
The vulcan does not have re-heat just Four very powerfull rolls royce olympus engines. I should know as I used to work on this aircraft at waddington in 1984-1986

Just awesome. Would be a crime for the plane to be moth balled.

I stand corrected, it must be just the glowing exhaust gases you can see.

@pookleburger
The ends of the exhaust are shiny.
