I was born in DC and finished HS in Silver Spring Maryland. I remember going down town on several occasions and seeing James Brown, Joe Tex, The Temptations, The Manhattans, The Contours, Mary Wells, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Wilson Picket, and a host of others back in the middle 60's. What a wonderful venue it was.... Can't wait to see it back in full glory.

I've been in there one time 1962! I was 5 years old. My sister took me to see "The Miracles, Chuck Jackson & Billy Stewart! I still remember going to that show. I'm 52 years old now!!! I will be there when It reopens. Thank You Jesus!!

Everytime going down Florida Ave to Georgia Ave,my father who use to frequent all the classic stages told me so many stories about james brown,curtis mayfield and the impressions...I AM GLAD WE FINALLY TAKING BACK OUR HISTORY!
