  • hi guys - great job. Would just like to add that your video shows how easily the battery can be replaced, but for some models, the battery is held in by some double sided tape under the battery so it won' lift out as easily as demonstrated. But don't be fooled or give up hope! If you are careful and have a few plastic pry tools available (no don't use a metal screw driver! ) you can slowly free the battery away from the shell. You just have to break the glue seal under the battery. Regards.

  • Does taking the back off void the warranty? Could Apple tell if you simply removed the back?

  • @badderthanyou Yes, and possibly. It will void the warranty. If done gently enough, then Apple should not know that you had done this. However, we cannot guarantee that Apple knows or does not know about your repair.

  • i didnt know the back could come off

  • i would have never known what was inside my iphone until i saw this.

  • How has anyone disliked this video... boggles the mind

  • wait so you can fix ANY ipod touch problem for just 25 dollars like a cracked screen???

  • @NoCommentsAvalable You will want to read the entire advertisement before placing an order, though the labor fee in Diagnosing or Repairing an issue is only $25.00. The customer would be presented with the full cost of parts before our technicians install anything. We always need permission from the customer to install any replacement parts, which would incur an additional charge for the cost of those parts.

  • R.I.P. steve jobs :(

  • To replace the battery you just have to void your warranty! YEAH!

  • z memory card in my iphone is not detected i lost all my items saved on it and z itune is in chinese help me plz???

  • @hadiyyah02 The iPhone has a SIM Card slot but has no memory card slot (SD card or the like). Visit Apple dot com backslash support for a help with your iTunes issue.

  • @DigiExpress i have folllowed every instruction to a tee but when re-sitting the 3 cables back, cable 2 seems to be too short and puts a strain on when i try to close the phone together once its been connected, help please!!!. thanks

  • @poropotopo For cable #2, I would ensure that your front panel assembly is assembled correctly, most of them are. In the video we say to hold your finger on cable #2 while closing the front panel. Other than those two tips, I would not know how to help you out. You can always send the device to us for a repair, more info is available on our website and YouTube users page.

  • @hadiyyah02 its called google translate

  • 8 people dont have an IPHONE 4

  • I love how complicated it is to change a battery! What kind of phone makes you need tools to replace a battery? What other than the iphone? One of many reasons i would never get an iphone.

  • did i see an sd card slot?

  • @KeithChalant No SD Card on the iPhone, only a place for the SIM card

  • thats a huge battery

  • I really didn't think that it would be that easy. Hopefully I never have to replace the battery anyway tho...

  • yes, but you didn't mention that battery IS GLUED and you have to PULL very much to release the battery. So beware people, is not so easy like in video

  • @TCPCruscottoSuperpiu This was a repair done in real time with as little editing as possible, we pulled the battery out for the first time during this video. Some batteries are very easy to remove while others will give you a bit more difficulty.

  • HELP

i broke the connector piece of the battery,so i cannot connect it to my iphone 4.

is there a way to fix that,or would i have to buy a New battery.

I KNOW YOU CAN REPLACE THE BATTERY,is there anyway to fix the one i already have

  • @iNEEDJORDANS Once the ribbon cable is torn there is no way to repair it, you need to replace it.

  • i love when the two top rated comments are contradicting of one another

  • Nice, now my iphone will not stop catching fire!

  • I have IPhone4 and i aint satisfied I think its SUCKS.... Im moving to HTC now.... its the real smart phone.

  • everyone is saying it shouldnt be so hard to take out the battery but the truth is, in the life of most iphones you will never have to replace it

  • jeez!!! all that to take out the battery!!?? its like they want you to break the phone!!

  • great tutorial, you should do one for the htc evo...... oh wait, I just have a back cover like every other phone.... nvm.

  • @11pandadog11 Hahaha yeah dude! Thats whats up! xD

  • Apple is ridiculous. This is unnecessarily complex, and the fact that it voids your warranty is even more silly.

    Android, kthx.

  • what the fuck is wrong with apple making you do all this shit to remove the battery

  • @preymouth because most likely you will never need to replace it.

  • What a robotic voice.

  • my ipod 2nd gen has recently all of a sudden gotten so slow when doing stuff of the facebook app like loading new newsfeed. what do you think is the problem?

  • why does it always have to be harder to change an apple battery .. with my phone i just pull of the back no screws or anything.. but i do really want an iphone though

  • @TheMarioo0 it because they dont want you to change it

  • does the iphone have a 1500mah battery? it looks bigger

  • @thatfrankieboyy The iPhone 4 has a 1418 mAh rating, which is about as much as the original iPhone which had a1400 mAh, iPhone 3G had 1150 mAh and the 3GS had a 1219 mAh rating.

  • didnt know iphones were so much better then Pantechs.

  • will the at&t battery work in the Verizon iPhone?

  • @SpeakingOfTech Yes. The batteries are exactly the same. The only difference is, not with the battery, but with the ground connector that is pointed out in the video. This ground clip (black with a white dot on the tip) grounds the bulk of the phone with the back glass plate.

  • @DigiExpress your wrong there not the same there a 0.56 cenitmeter diffrence

  • @DigiExpress Correct me if I'm wrong, but the AT&T iPhone has buttons off centered from the Verizon iPhone by a fraction of an inch, and it's a little thicker due to the Sim card.

  • but it's running android so the MAH increase is futile

  • cnt wait to someone to do dis then mess up and break it LMAOO

  • woah what a huge ass battery. Andriod phones got that half the size, but at least we can replace it mid day when it runs low

  • will this void the warranty? or would it just be easier to get a new phone with your iphone/verizon insurance

  • @astacy77 more than likely

  • i don't know how they do the iphone replacements at verizon, but i would go to apple if possible. verizon with all other phones gives you a pre owned device and they all suck. so don't risk it if ur going to take it in. go to apple.

  • @skittleschocolate verizon give you a new iphone when replaced every time. i work for verizon. its apples rules to give you a new one

  • really?! see that's why i love apple. quality is at the top of their list. i've never owned a more solid phone in my life. there is NO plastic whatsoever on this baby. i love it. next step? macbook pro! haha

  • @skittleschocolate ikr i love my iphone 4 :)

  • @skittleschocolate

You sure there is no plastic? Maybe you should look inside the device again. It's at least 80% plastic. Besides, plastic is now superior to metal in a number of applications. High quality plastics are so complicated these days that companies employ whole science and engineering departments dedicated to them. Don't be afraid of plastic. Only be afraid of cheap crap plastic like the stuff in your iPhone 4

  • i got a question. besides a few parts (camera, that's about it...) where would they sneak plastic into the phone. it's all circuits... ur an idiot... and before you call it cheap, google production costs. it costs apple around 200 bucks to make an iPhone. that doesn't sound too cheap to me

  • @skittleschocolate The back piece is plastic, and so is the front of the phone around the glass.

  • "an aluminum band sandwiched between two pieces of glass" word by word from apple. and i own one. the back is not plastic. and to prevent the glass from shattering they put a silicrylic band around it for shock absorbance. don't comment if you don't know.

  • also. the "plastic" band is on both the front and back.

  • @astacy77 Apple has a stance that there is "No consumer servicable parts" on any of the devices, kind of like buying a Mercedes and being told "you cannot change your own spark plugs". Anyone who owns a Benz (E series) knows what I am talking about. On the plastic tab behind the battery it does say "Authorized Service Provider" which means this will void your warranty.

  • @DigiExpress LOL, I know exactly what you mean with this. i'm W210 forum moderator and it's mind boggling how much of the servicing is dealer recommended. thanks for the insight into iP4 battery replacement ! we have many similar DIY tips with the Mercedes as well.

  • @astacy77 yes

  • Well that was easier than i imagined. Good HowTo.

  • How did I get here from black metal

  • @coolbji

  • wow well that was easy
