I personally don't understand why you would have that much HP in a FWD car. It's been proven that once you hit about 250 HP in s FWD car that anything over that you see very little gain from.

That's just my opinion though. I'm not gonna stand in the way of people modding their cars and honestly I'm quite impressed that you were able to get 421 HP out of this puppy!

@Redline2695 Oh I definitely understand that, but you lose a large amount of that power due to the lack of actual traction in a FWD car, especially in wet conditions. I previously had a Civic Si which was stock besides motor mounts and I had a hell of a time getting that thing moving unless surface I was driving on was bone dry. The tires weren't terrible ones either. I can only imagine how much wheel spin there must be in a 450 HP FWD car. Talk about feathering the throttle!

Since your SI is FWD, 421 hp to the front wheel can be a problem. Torque steer must be a nightmare from a stand still. How did you fix that?

All this talk about torque. LOL. It has a nice flat torque line and has a different powerband than a V8. Only thing you need to do is keep the RPM's up and it'll generate all the torque you'll ever need.

@dilirent Actually, it should be closer to 300. And yes, I researched and as incredible as it seems, 421 hp is true. Not sure how this would compare to a v8 with 421 hp unlike 4 cyl, they generate lots of torque, like in the range of 500 plus but yes, impressive for a 4 cyl. Just not sure how much it cost to get such numbers and how long the engine would last.

@guyd37 Its only making 382whp at 9 psi. 9 psi is not that much boost on the motor, especially for a 4 cylinder. As far as a V8 that makes 500 ftlbs of torque at 400whp it would either have a really small turbo or be a big block (400+ ci). I don't know of any N/A small block V8 making 500 ft/lbs of torque at only 400 whp.

its the efficiency of the engine itself. subies and evos cant touch this thing boost for boost. look at it this way, u need to build the shit outa a sobie engine and put a huge turbo in to make 550whp, one of ajp's civics runs 578 at 17 psi. subies need 30+ for that :)

Yeah no kidding, Im a bit faster than stock/bolt on turbo 4 bangers, but Ive always had respect for em : srt4's/subis/evos. I just think that for as much psi as the evo/subi are pushing they should be making better hp, regardless of awd. This civic is very impressive to me, Id be pretty pissed if I got beat by a civic in a h/c/i 347 lol.
