  • Threw mine in canal, it floated screen up!

  • I think a hammer to the back of the CRT neck is much more efficient ( ;

  • just take the implosion band off and drop it from a 3 story building!

  • i just threw a brick threw mine...

  • did you discharge the CRT first? or is it not as dangerous as everyone makes out?

  • @hebelshit

    It is good practice to discharge the tube/TV set before attempting service or removal; one never knows if there is 'charge' (electron charge/voltage) present and it's painful/could cause death if one makes the wrong assumption as to whether the tube has been discharged. As to this particular tube, I had discharged things a year earlier when the tube was removed ... no need worry once the tube is removed from the set, since the HV is generated *in* the set when it is operating ..

  • I was told by an electronics repairman that TV tubes have a glass peg in the rear that you break off to release the vacuum. Looks like you had to rip up parts of the electron gun terminals?

  • Modern tubes like this are virtually worthless but if you come across any older tubes, particularly round ones, please don't air them out! They can be valuable.
