  • THUMBS UP IF YOU CAME HERE BECAUSE OF The Chris Moyles Show

  • love this

  • Pure classic performance, In January 1985 there was 7000 Sheffield Wednesday FC supporters jumping up and down and singing this in an FA Cup match against Fulham @ Craven Cottage, when Wednesday scored each of their goals in a 3-2 win.

  • 1984 was the last classic Xmas TOTP, after 1985 music took itself far too seriously when Whitney Houston and co came along, all the fun was gone.

  • i always thought timmy mallet did this

  • If you dislike this then you a. dont have a sense of humor at all and b. dont know how to party. Brilliant this...:)

  • ネリーさんだ象

  • When I went for a day visit to Butlins Skegness in July last year, this song was performed in the Skyline Pavilion, and I joined in with it. Doing so added to the fun of the day, along with the funfair rides and Splash Waterworld.

  • School discos up and down britain filled with kids pogo'in like nuts while teachers tried to keep control. :D

  • Loved this as a kid!!!!! Still sounding great!!!!!

  • This makes me laugh so much. I remember the school disco when this came on, people were flying everywhere literally across the dancefloor. It was a good excuse to go mental and we all loved it.... ha ha..

  • At 1:52 a big neon sign says 1985!

  • @sansomdela whY IN THE GODDAMN fuck CAN'T WE KNOW HOW TO HAVE FUN today LIKE WE DID BACK THEN?

  • Could this be one of the greatest mimes ever?

  • aha you can see em takin the piss of the 'as live' fact of totp because other than zeplin no-one actually played on top of the pops ie watch the vid of nirvana who refused to co-operate lol

  • Pete Zulu is a knobheed

  • I just introduced this song to the next generation at our local roller rink. Am I surprized they did not enjoy it? Nahh! Maybe it's because none of the words are bleeped/faded out ...... Check out thier other stuff, lead guitar can jam !

  • This was the last great Xmas Top of the Pops. Unfortunately, by 1985 we had been taken over by far inferior artists like Whitney Houston and the Pet Shop Boys, the Golden Era was over.

  • & trundled off to the jungle...

God i remember this and being at school. a friend had it on 7" and it got played at our primary school discos - all the kids used to go bonkers to it!! Funny days.

This and a doing the actions to a song about Superman - Black Lace - i think - were great fun at our primary school discos.

Ahh...great times. Would love to be able to relive those days again...if only!

  • one of the most violent shows ive been to..back in the eighties.....now.....my daughter LOVES this song!........hollywood palladium by the way

  • hahaha those drum sticks xD

  • lol

  • i always hate when musicians do playbacks... amazing song though

  • That was "Top Of The Pops" for you. The BBC made ALL performers adhere to it. It was nothing to do with The Toy Dolls.

When Nirvana when on the show, they deliberately ruined "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by having no intentions of 'hiding' the fact they were miming. Kurt's mic was open and he sung the song really slow and wierd.

  • @teabagbob theres a video of muse doing...i think...the uprising in italy on their version of TOTP and they swap around Matt bellamy is on drums instead of lead NO ONE NOTICES!"

  • iwas born in 1974 lol

  • Its great to see comments from so many people who don't know their arse from a hole in the ground. Being a teen in the 80's was the best thing I could have ever wished for, so all I can say is I suppose you had to be there really, I suppose Who Killed Bambi isn't punk either..!

  • @ytceejay2008

being a teen is good , its not that it was any better in the 80s . its youth that is good

  • Well thank God its not punk, wouldn't want to be listening to that rubbish now would I?

  • i'm sorry, this is funny an all.

but the singer sounds just a TINY bit like victorica wood in the first verse.

  • fucking brilliant... im 26 now i was two when this came out n i could sing every word of it... brings back so many memorys.... hence y im a drummer now. check him out with the brush shafts 4 sticks lol

  • this song if funny but the band is not tht good lol

  • The Toy Dolls are cool and so is this song!

  • Hahah helemaal los op dit nummer :D

  • Nub..

  • At last - a band who didn't take themselves too seriously. A really good cover this one.

  • lol Top of the pops dint let any artist perform live till 1993...Kinda funny reli cos everyone before tht jus lyp sync the song...

  • Brilliant

  • everyone knows that. and most of them still didnt perform live after 1993

  • A few bands like Iron Maiden broke the mold and refused to lip sync

  • they got the piss ripped out of them at live shows after this, bloody pop stars lol(all in good fun).i saw them many times before and after this, always superb, manic and fabulous live. Long live the Toy Dolls and fanx for the memories :)

  • That's just totally surreal.

  • One of the few songs that prove the eighties wasn't a total musical wasteland... nevermind used to dance to it we used to slam to it in metal clubs in the 90's ;) Still would if the bloody kids would stay still long enough!

  • There are far more embarrassing bands about now than there were then. The eighties rock !!! Bin all your indie grunge crap and start listening to music from an era when music was fun and colourful, not dark dingy and depressing like it is at the moment.

  • Toydolls rules!

  • this is amzing any one know any other bands like this (im 14 i dont know much lol)

  • The Adicts. The longest running punk band with all original members. They're amazing.

  • god was about 12 when this came out, ive still got da record sumwhere, he he

  • this was so much fun when it came out, i certainly loved it.. god its just a bit of bloody fun!

  • agreed buffy! A girlfriend of mine included this on a casette mix tape for me in 1989, and I smiled and danced every time I played it! This is definately music for happy people. sorry you downer sods! Too bad for you!

  • This is one of the coolest, most ridiculous songs ever! to the guy who says it's "tacky shit aimed @ 3 year olds", it isn't too far from the Ramones' sound... and if the Dropkick Murphys did it, it would just be louder... does any 3yr old listen to them? no, they listen to the Irish Rovers... corny but great!

  • wwooooohhhhhhhhhooooooooo the base player is my dad hahaha. GO DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • seriously?

  • yeah he left just after. he's quiet embarrassed i fink it's great!!! hahahahaha

  • See! Ever one of the band is embarrassed by it!

  • NICE!

  • oi oi oi...there's no good music since the 90's

  • Yampy but funny. We need a big of humour in music these days.

  • effing sweet! reminds me of black friday.

  • love this song! so cool, anyone that doesnt understand it should be buried!

  • not at all, i dont even know who those are, but the fact that you do shows a bit of your "taste" ...

  • It shows nothing of the sort. I also know what dog shit is, that doesn't mean I eat it! Trust me, if you enjoy this you'll love Agadoo by Black Lace.

  • you do know that it is okay to like music because it is silly, thats what this is, no musical wonder, but still funny! And im always open to new kinds of music!

  • I'll leave you to it then. Hope you keep enjoying this tacky shit aimed at three year olds.

  • But that's what makes them so very fantastic :P LIKE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL

  • it's so bad it's actually brilliant.

  • STILL BRILL

  • silly sods - great stuff

  • Hahahah idd, huge drumsticks O.o

  • I remember this. The Toy Dolls rule. I remember dancing to this my feet hurt afterwards. I love The Toy Dolls they are ace.
