@DoctorLipsh1ts the first thing that i want to make clear is that blast beating can support a great riff and make it even more awesome. my suggestions are, if you are searching for memorable riffs, to listen to the three latest albums of Nile. if you prefer melodic death metal, you should really check out the album "slaughter of the soul" by at the gates.

@Rasamotmaskinen oh yeah i know man and i love nile, annihilation of the wicked is an amazing album hands down. but i don't like it when the drums overpower the guitar and vocals and it sounds like a really fast metronome the whole song haha. i think it's all about balance, take for example the shitty hardcore bands that water their songs down with breakdowns. no balance, no groove = boring and mindnumbing
