  • so epic

  • A haunting and moving video. Great work.

  • My Mum loves it and wants me to download the tune to put on a cd for her car.

  • some Canadian scientists were able to identify one of 2 Canadian MIA bodies found behind German lines in Vimmy one was laid to rest as a man from Alberta. He is the only Canadian in the cemetary over there to have the leaf over his coffin god bless the other soldiers who lost thier lives defending there country and the innocent.

  • i love my country canada and i remember the veterans :)

  • this was an outstanding video.they were all true heros

  • Thanks to all.....past and present! Does anyone know what the tune is called used in this vignette?

  • A moving remembrance to the more than 100,000 Canadians who lost their lives fighting World Wars I and II.

  • Really...that is the comment you choose to leave?...wow

  • GOD BLESS EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!

  • LEST WE FORGET... I am eternaly thankful to all the men n women who have and still fight to keep freedom.... <3

  • happy rememberence day guys

  • Happy Rememberence day, Lest We Forget, PS Im Also Canadian

  • Amen

  • Well you got everything in a sense, But remember August 10th 1945? Japan Surrendered Unconditionally but they currently have rebuilt their miltary, Sea, Air and Land forces, so couldnt that be seen as a breach of that agreement? Of course Japan is independent now whether you like it or not

  • hey thanks dude. I had to reply to this one because I couldn't find the most recent ones for some reason.

  • No problem all in a days work lol

  • ahah, AMEN.

  • yes but my point is that if your gonna have 3 billion people in the world your gonna have somebody like Hitler that comes along, takes control of a powerful nation, and wages war on people. this is going to happen for the rest of our lives and probably for a very long time after that, and you should argue in a different place since we are trying to respect the fallen. Im okay if you want to prevent war from happening since war is a horrible thing but you can never completely stop it

  • and i hardly believe that this is the right area to be discussing your views on war as this video is about respecting the fallen

  • Agreed

  • its actually human nature to go to war. there was a study a while ago where a group of scientists followed some apes and they would just attack other apes for no reason at all. So no if you removed money and politics and social power you would not stop war it actually has to happen. it is just like breathing its human nature

  • umm... apes lack the critical thinking capabilities that humans have. We all agree killing each other is detrimental to the species as a whole.

  • you're obviously nto willing to think this through so i'm just gonna go to sleep

  • No it is you who is not willing to think this through. You are conforming to the kind of mindset enforced upon everyone by the corporate media and propaganda. You fail to realize that its the society we live in that pits us against each other which causes greed & corruption which then causes war. I know about war because I come from Sri lanka which was torn apart by war for nearly 30yrs. Of all the people that suffered it was the CIVILIANS (sinhalese, tamils, and others) that suffered the most.

  • IRAQ is a disaster....

  • Perpetual war does not lead to Perpetual Peace.

  • I am dissapointed in most of the people commenting on this channel. You don't have to pull in your political view, regardless of what you think of the war, young men are dying out there and it is important to remember the sacrifices they are making now, and those who have served before us.

  • Whats more important is that we get them back home as soon as possible, so they don't have to die anymore.

  • No. What's most important is that you support them first and foremost.

  • In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders Fields. Take upour quarrel with the foe Toyou from failinghands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who dieWe shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders Fields
  • It's to bad i can only give you one thumbs up for posting that....

    Lest we forget

  • thanks finally someone not debateing polotics here lest we forget and rememberince day should not only be one day but the whole year that we remember them

  • Agreed,

Both my grandfathers fought (and lived thank God) in WW2, and my brother is joining up in the next 90 days.

My politics aside, I owe them all a dept of gratitude.

I have a store front in, and have this video looping in my Window for passers by.

  • that is awsome

  • Yeah,

Next year I'll see if I can't contact someone from the government and get a higher quality version (on a DVD or something).

It's a little pixelated, but at least it's something.

  • u could try touching it up on a Mac and put it on dvd but idk how much it will fix the quality

  • Does anybody know the name of the song in the video?

  • there will always be someone who wants something more.

  • what is that "something more"? Is it greater knowledge? (then be a researcher). Is it power to control ppl to do your bidding? Then you are on your own, because if people love and embrace each other as human beings and discard the whole concept of war, and thus will not succumb to the will of those who wishes to control others. In fact In such an environment where everyone loves each other a fellow human beings, I doubt there will even be such a power-hungry tyrant.

  • there is nothing that can stop every single person from willing to do anything for themselves and someone to defend the others that is a war no matter how small

  • haha yeah, American's have this thing about them where they think everything they say and do is always right and better than everyone else and they act like everyone owes them something. There are good American's out there don't get me wrong but the vast majority are ignorant pricks that need to stop listening to their over-glorified media. TO THE AMERICAN'S "War is not glory, war is a harsh reality of murder, strife, and in some cases- a self-seeking reward"

  • Thank you streamstruck, but its not just the americans, there are many others around the world who believe war is glorious and that fighting in one is honorable. Its just that the US is the main propagator of such BS.

  • no problem and thanks to you too, I'll keep that in mind.

  • I think its time here for the children to go to bed. None of you appear to understand what this channel is about. This place is about those whom people have lost, regardless of the reason. Don't further desecrate their memory.

  • not everyone will want peace like you, so there will always be a need for defending soldiers.and war to prevent genocide.

  • You don't get it do you? Like I said, genocide requires a military and weapons, get rid of both and you have no means to commit genocide.

  • that would require controlling poeples lives totally and people can still kill with their hands

  • They wouldn't kill for no reason. Every murderer has a reason to kill. Get rid of the causes of such factors and he/she wont kill. Secondly... NO, people loving each other as human being requires 0 control, IN FACT doing the opposite requires total control. Have you heard of game theory? I suggest you look up on that. It would have been a true and considered a fact if it weren't for the fact that people act in selfless ways as well.

  • The arms trade is too lucrative....Halliburton/Northrop Grumman/Black Water.

  • the only way to stop fighting would be to remove everything that makes us human, intelligence, emotion, hunger, thirst everything then and only then wil there be no conflict

  • Umm... no. Being smart does not cause war. Did Einstein wage war? Did Isaac newton wage war? emotion is a mental response brought about by environmental factors, and if emotion causes war, then the environment is indirectly responsible for it. I'm assuming here that hunger and thirst causes war between nations when nations suffer famines or droughts. But thx to today's technology food and water can be made available with ease, so that is irrelevant in the 21st century.

  • greed is an emotion

  • I like that you did this video (tax money well spent) but I'm really offended that you use the term "veterans week". It's Remembrance Day in this country.

    In November we Remember...

  • To all of the men and women who gave their lives in order for us to be here right now, I give you my thanks.

  • I'm sorry to see people thinking this way, that war is natural. In fact look throughout history and you will see that people waged war due to political reasons (one ruler not liking a another), need for wealth and power (the expansion of empires such as Roman empire), and lack of understanding people from different regions (as in the case of crusades and such). THOSE AREN'T NATURAL REASONS. They are causes which are the result of ignorance, , and the competitive system of society we live in.

  • We remember u guys ='(

  • that was a response to riley

  • Never forget our veterans.

  • veterans ftw.

  • Well not even Stalin was a genious, he was as bad as Hitler himself, he was also genicidal, and all the time he was paranoid. I think WW2 was all about killing the jews and allot of people to help the economy

  • Fier de vous!

  • RESPECT to all who fight for what they think their right is, even the afghans, damm I have to give the afgans respect because they winning the war. Look back at WW2, Hitler was a dumbass! His Generals were smart, but he just went along starving everyone and killing jews, that was the whole point! And when the Americans started attacking him, he took his attention to the west, forgetting about the Russian forces completly! The only genious in WW2 was the Jappanease Emperor!

  • C'est une disgrâce de faire partie de larmée, armée qui cache le gain matériel de la guerre sous un velours de patriotisme et d'altruisme.

Où est la fierté quand on commence à percevoir le réel objectif de toute guerre ?

  • Sergeant Thomas Prince Was in there Were Learning About him Right now :)

  • WE ARE FIGHTING TERRORISM YOU FOOL helping our allies you d bag

  • You are the dbag here. Do you honestly believe the propaganda that CNN, FOX, and ABC emits?

  • with respect to WWII, we gotta give it up to the Soviet nation too. They literally foot-marched like 4 million soldiers from Stalingrad all the way to Berlin.

I'm very proud to be Canadian. Thankful to be close to the Americans. Greatful for our colonization by England.

  • wait why are you so thankful to be next to the us they tried to invade us on several occasions

  • We put them in their place on those occasions. ;D

  • unlike the rest of the world man, I dont hate the U.S. for no reason.

When it comes to military movements all over the world, we pretty much hide behind them man c'mon. All my buddies who served a four month term in Iraq said they were so thankful for how well the U.S. mobilized and took care of them.

Don't dislike them for no reason, they aren't bad people.

  • canada doesn't hide behind the U.S. in ww1 and ww2 we had more soldiers per person than the U.S., in ww2 we had 1 million soldeirs roughly out of the total population of 11 million the only reason we never had an army for these wars is because the us has eight times the population of canada

  • Wow I feel sorry for the idiot who thumbed down my comment about WAR BEING A HORRIBLE THING. Why not go to a battlefield, and see for yourself? How about you see your best friend being blown to bits by a tank round. OR the 1000s more civilians that suffer in the crossfire. Children losing their parents, or vice versa. One moment innocent civilians mind their business , and the next moment they lie dead. I guess you'll never understand until you see your hometown flattened by carpet bombing.

  • that happened more before are troops got into afganistan they are defending these people

  • you're thinking of the politicians, there are some soldiers that are like that but most soldiers are risking their lives to protect these people.

  • Yes they are protecting people against a threat that NEVER EVEN EXISTED (referring to iraq war).

  • All I can say is how brave our soldiers were, are and always will be. <3

  • I wanna join the CAD army but they might not allow me to do what i want, which is helping the kids of those middle east countries with problems...maybe they just want me to fight for them but what i want is kinda diff

  • People like you said the same thing in WWI and WWII yet you say you 'respect' those men and those wars?

  • I said I DUNNO ABOUT WW1 AND WW2. I respect no war. Its nothing but people mindlessly killing each other. Whats so glorious about it?? Imagine if all those millions of soldiers were instead trained to be scientists, engineers, technicians, doctors, teachers, etc. Imagine if all that money directed to war is instead directed to social services. I guess its unimaginable, since it'll likely not happen, as long as people keep glorifying war.

  • War is anything but mindless. In World War II, Allied soldiers were sent into Germany and its surrounding countries to stop a German invasion and to liberate Jews in hiding and the prisoners of concentration camps.

Canadian soldiers and other UN soldiers are in Afganistan on a peacekeeping mission, protecting the civilans from the Taliban. I believe that to be heroic, not mindless.

  • Do you honestly believe that soldiers are tryign to protect civilians from taliban? Sad truth is THEY ARE THERE TO PROTECT WESTERN BUSINESS INTERESTS.

  • also for ww2 it's better to have war than let there be genocide.

  • MINDLESS you say that now what if they lost we would be speaking german glorify these brave men fought for our freedom science and teachers BAH imagine if we had no army we would be trampled and stomped on so next time you say glorifiing war we are COMMERATING THE FALLEN SOLDIERS you inconciderate commie

  • SO you;re saying scientists and teachers and such are insignificant? Then get rid everything you have (TVs, your computer etc, all of which are the results of the hard work of such people) and go live in the woods, you inconsiderate war-monger.

  • no im saying that the military right NOW is a bit more important me a war mongerer hahahaha just because i dont agree with you that makes me a war mongerer me inconsidrate you are a hipocrite you want us to have no armies then go live with the nazis you bastard you are much more suitable for them and also you disigree with god created MASS genocide i myself am athies but you may not be

  • hellgorama, it is tragic but people will always be fighting and killing eachother over many different causes and beliefs. It is not something that can be stopped. The best we can do is work to prevent wars, educate and spread knowledge and if we do fight, then fight on the right said for the right reasons. That is why I think the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan deserve more than '0' respect.

  • ARe you sure it cannot be stopped? The problem is war is caused due to politics, wealth, and misunderstanding between fellows. Politics and the current monetary system (wealth) are bullshit and it has been warped to benefit a few at the cost of suffering of the majority of humanity. The misunderstandings can be fixed through proper education. You are taught that war is a natural thing because you and everyone else are pitted against each other in this society we live in.

  • Sorry, but all the reasons you stated are peripheral reasons. People will always fight and kill eachother. It's natural and cannot be stopped. I don't like it, but it's true. Be real man, you know it's true.

'War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.'

  • Thanks to technology, much of our differences would have been settled if it weren't for people's thirst for power, control, and wealth. The current system we live in, allows such BEHAVIOR and gives the means to do so through politics, and business enterprises. Get rid of those and all other means to cause massive destruction and war will be reduced to nothing but a mere intellectual argument.

  • the reason war can't be stopped is because there will always be people who are greddy but in most events it is the soldier that fight to prevent it from being genocide. which would you rather have war or genocide?

  • I would have neither. With no soldiers there would no military, and no military = no weapons that kill on a massive scale, and thus no war OR genocide.

  • you don't seem to understand there will always be someone greedy whether they were raised that way or it is a mental condition they find a way to raise a aarmy even if it only consists os a few people if they kill for what they want then anothere group will try to stop them this is called a war even if it is only a few people.

  • It is you who don't seem to understand. GREED today is caused by the way our society runs. You are surrounded by ads and BS that say "YOU MUST BE THIS SO YOU'LL BE FAMOUS" or "YOU MUST GET THAT AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY AND AWESOME AND EVERYONE WILL LOVE YOU". People don't get such desire unless the environment they grow up in forces them to behave like that.

  • greed is not a product of todays' society it has always been there in humans and animals whether for food, love, or territory.

  • At that point people would still fight, albeit with sticks and stones instead of high-tech weapons. I think you are idealistic but at least you want peace! Agree to disagree.

  • JCRF, wouldn't war being reduced to fighting with sticks and stone be VASTLY LESS DESTRUCTIVE than the way war is fought today? Today we have a few soldiers capable of laying waste to hundreds of civilians (not to mention nukes). But still, I'm saying we don't have to fight each other whether it be with sticks and stones or high-tech gadgetry

  • you are very ignorant hellgorama rather than take into account both side you simply pick one and believe there is no way it can be wrong. you must listen to both sides to know what you are talking about.

  • I have to say the same thing as you. You don't take into the account the fact the people are capable of helping each other regardless of differences, and its the socials structures that we create that pits us against each other.

  • we are fighting terrorism not for politics we helping our effing allies

  • HOW do you know that your country is fighting against this so called "terrorism"?? Do you get this from CNN and its reports of how many soldiers were killed and how many of the "terrorists" they killed? I recommend you ask an afghan or iraqi who has just recently managed to escape the war in their country (no not the ones that has stayed in the west for several years, but the ones that have just gotten off at the airport) who has done the most damage to their country.

  • i'm not saying the war in iraq is okay i'm saying your a fool to beleive that there can be a world without some sort of conflict

  • Yes there can be a world without conflict. All you have to do is get rid of the root causes of war which are money, political and social power, and ignorance

  • there was war before there was money politics or society

  • So you're suggesting that global anarchy will lead to world peace? I highly doubt that.

  • It wont happen right away. People are too brainwashed into thinking that owning as much wealth and products as possible is the only way you are going to be great, recognized, and be a sign of "success". They are taught by modern media to crave for luxurious lifestyles, NOT because its some inherent trait. That's why as soon as anarchy comes about alot of people will pilage and murder each other for wealth and goods. Its all in the social conditioning that we have all been subject to.

  • You're too naive. It's not social conditioning. People desire power and wealth, it's part of how we are as a species. And people will always hate and fight (not all thoughl). Again, part of our nature. Sucks, but that's the truth. You're being super naive. Almost any great mind can tell you that humans while beautiful, creative and loving, are also violent creatures. The level of technology, education and social paradigm only changes the way we fight. But the violence is always there. I'm done.

  • Again, you're having the same mindset as

chrisN1464. Seriously I hate to repeat myself here, please refer to my previous posts. let me give you an example. A western researcher went to study an african tribe living in the savanah. They hunted game for food, and the westerner having tried that boasted about killing a big buffalo. The tribe members avoided him, and he asked the tribe leader why. He said that boasting leads to having to much of ego, which leads to selfishness, which...

  • ... damages the close ties that tribe members have for each other. It pretty much splits the tribe apart, and spawns hate and jealousy. That's why no-one on the tribe boasts about killing a larger buffalo than usual for food. I'm done as well, its getting late. I'll get back with more info about this if I can.

  • It has nothing to do with glorifying war, if somebody starts, then somebody has to answer.

  • awesome makes me proud to be canadian

  • C'est une disgrâce de faire partie de larmée, armée qui cache le gain matériel de la guerre sous un velours de patriotisme et d'altruisme.

  • canada doesent have nuclear weapons and neither do half those countries.

  • YES, YES YES YES, Japan accuired nuclear technology ONE MONTH BEHIND the American Team working on Project Manhattan, Now Canada sold its famous CANDU and CANDU-6 Reactors to those countries, Experiments were taken place and volia, Nuclear weapons, Are you as stupid to think a country can not produce its nuclear weaponary? Its not hard to hire 500 professionals in that field and tell them to devleop missiles, or the Atomic Bomb all over again, ANY COUNTRY can get nuclear weapons

  • Lol, so one of those 9 countries you listed has nukes... so what buddy

  • Correction: We don't have nuclear weapons HOWEVER, we are the largest supplier of nuclear parts and uranium or something like that.

  • you're correcting the wrong person, i already knew that

  • what song is this ?

  • theres always gotta be a jerk who has to hate on a veterans tribute...why can't we ever have a video where there is no argument over which country sucks or whatever :<

  • Canada rocks. but i dont like Harper :)

  • I Know, And to picture himself standing right beside that Canadian Soldier, That Soldier probably saved his life, If not for him, He might have remained there his entire life and hes only a kid, He cant hunt for food or look for shelter, Its images like that one which really tell what kind of nation we are, Oh and I saw this one of the American Army when they destroyed what they thought was a bandits car but they destroyed this poor mans car, That cost him so much and they ran a tank over it.

  • seriously yo this week is for those CANADIANS who died not the other people tht doesent mean cause those people arent in the video tht he doesent care so get ur head out of ur ass and and stop being so ignerent

  • Shouldnt we Remember those others as well?

  • smatersniper you want to know whats down with your country? your healthcare. FAIL.

  • @smartersniper, you wonder why other countries hate americans? thats why.. your retarded and ignorant.

  • The voice-over sounds too happy. Ruined it.

  • thanks for all soldiers to defended the country . i respect my canada.

  • Me too, Canada is an awesome place to live today, PS: Wow this was posted on my Birthday what a coincidence

  • I'll remember the true Canadians who died for our country under our true Canadian Flag in WWI, WWII and the Korean war. I will not feel a connection to today's traitorous government that has the code word for white ethnic cleansing - multiculturalism - enshrined in its treasonous constitution. And although I will respect those fighting in Afghanistan today, I will not respect the reason why they are there.

Canadian soldiers should be defending Canada for Canadians.

  • Nice work Stevencool104, Im also the same way. Nice to see others who care.

  • I have an interwiew to do on a veteran of the WWII for my history class and I give them the biggest respect I can have. They have so much things to say. We need to thank them... for the world we have today.

Thank you to all the soldiers who sacrified their lives for us.

  • Nice graditute, Their deaths were not in Vain

  • toughest job anyone can do

  • Thank You!

  • My deepest respect to the passed away patriots

  • Thank all of u soldiers who fought in war and defended are country. <3

  • Id like to honor all of the Canadian troopers for the rights and freedom I have today also. It makes me great inside when I am thinking of all the sacrafices they made for this beautiful country.

  • Respect all the veterans, for the day we have today. Thank you.

  • I wish i could thank every veteran who sacrificed something for the very freedom i have today.

    Remembrence Day

  • as a former army cadet i have taken part in alot of rememberance day carimonies and its a great honor to take part in these events to pay tribute to the men and wemon who have served as and have giving us our freedom i salute all of our troops of past and present

  • Thanks for serving our country...you did a good thing.

  • 21 secs. Paratrooper wings Airborne!!!!

    ex coelis

    hunters from the sky

  • =o and the guy at the start of the vid looks like my grandfather =p respect to him

  • RUSSIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks to all those who have served, and to those serving right now

    you make all canadians proud

  • This video is so touching!

    Very nicely done!

    5/5star

  • The thing that everyone is forgetting is that we are all humans. Instead of honoring the winning side, we should learn from example.

Everyone who died and who are still dying have a mother and a father. They have grown up, learned and grown from their surroundings only to have their entire history wiped clean by the drop of a bomb or a bullet.

    My honor has no borders.

  • I fully agree, but that dosnt change the fact that this is remembrance day IN Canada. Meaning that we remember the ultimate sacrifice made by our boys.

  • I will still honor the people lost in wars. Not just the Canadians.

  • good man

  • By the way: Proud to be Canadian. The only place I'd ever want to be

  • How long did it take you to type that out? ya dumb redneck..

  • Americans are selfish fuck heads that think the world revolves around them, it dosen't you selfish pricks.

  • We help your fat asses out as soon as you get into another stupid war everytime we bail you pussies out and thats the thanks we get haha fucking figures. You're all so damn obese I don't know how the fuck you even function correctly. Let us all not forget the real issue here: Americans being self righteous bastards who think they have created everything and that they own the planet. You yanks can kiss my ass and I'll wipe it with your damn flag hahah

  • Could not have said it better!

    I salute you,SIR!

  • Same goes to you bud! Long live Canada

  • bahahaha, best comment of the year man

  • Seriously, grow a brain cell and don't make stupid comments like this? Is there something wrong with your dumbass mind that causes you to think this way, and makes you need to post comments against another country, based on no particular fact? You're a terrible disgrace to the US, and humanity.

And if you're going to make a dumb comment like that, technically, we're bigger than you, AND on top. Doesn't that make you our bitch? Just saying :P

  • Living off you? You drink our water, eat our food, and use our wood. Who's really living off who?

  • God bless the troops

  • We should not forget the soilders of Nazi Germany who were drafted and forced to fight for a false cause, and the soilders of the soviet union, also fighting unwilingly for an opresive government. Shouldnt they be remembered as well as our boys and the soilders of the alied nations?

  • Technically, the Soviets were an allied nation. And the proud soldiers of both germany and the Soviet Union fought for their countries just as much as soldiers fighting in the armies of the western allies. If you look deep down at the everyday man on either side, you see that they really aren't that different.

So yes, all soldiers who fought in the war should be remembered honorably (save perhaps the SS and some of the Soviet penal battalions)

  • go the the royal 22 regiment

today im proud to be canadian

  • Remember their sacrifices for us.

  • thank you

  • All I can say is Thank you very much from freeing my people (i'm jewish).

  • proud to be Canadian!

  • Royal 22e Régiment , je me souviens.

  • Sad and interesting video.

  • Wonderful .

  • at 0:37 it melts my heart down

  • i want the music... anyone know where can I get it?
