@TMOvids HUGE pet peeve of mine.. It really brings out the hypochondriac in people. More 'phyche drugs' are given out by general practitioner (physicians) than psychiatrists in the US.

I am no Scientologist but let's be clear they are not the only ones aligned against the mental illness cult. Just explain how having a degree in psychiatry immunizes the holder against all the (made up) disorders they rave about? Are any gerontologists claiming their degree immunizes them from aging? These rights include freedom from restraints and seclusion in any form when used as a means of coercion, discipline, convenience for the staff, or retaliation.

Great effort is expended in the psychiatric community to PREVENT the need for ANY restraint or seclusion in patients who are violent toward self or others. Coping skills are taught to the patients through cognitive-behavioral therapy, which teaches the patient to recognize anger triggers.

There are Medicare regulations, including the "one hour rule" which requires a physician to conduct a face-to-face interview within one hour of a seclusion or restraint episode.

I think I figured out how to shoot yourself in the arm, but have no video equipment.

1. Be a moron. Adding alcohol to stupidity helps.

2. Shake really hard.

3. Instead of going to the side of your head, try to aim for the top, except you're shaking and guns are heavy so your wrist is angled down.

4. Shake like hell, and miss entirely.

5. Graze your arm with the bullet. Because you are totally going to be lounging with your other arm while shooting yourself in the head.

In Europe it's forbidden to advertise any drugs on television.

This makes all the advertising and financial issues invalid.

Normally, in most European countries, you can't even buy any medicine that could endanger you without a prescription by a doctor. And in countries like France or Germany this is paid by the health insurances you must be in, and those insurance companies have a close eye on what they're paying for cause it's their business.

The workflow is the following: you feel ill, you go to the doctor, the doctor inspects you and then chooses the correct medicine for you based on it's ingredients (especially in Germany, if there are two with the same ingredients the doctor must pick the cheaper one).

You get a prescription and you go to an apothecary (which can not be compared to drugstores in the U.S. since the shopkeeper has to have studied pharmaceutics) and the shopkeeper checks your prescription and double-checks it again if he may hand it out to you. So basically you do not choose what medicine is good for you.

So again, all this advertisement arguments and conspiracy stuff does not apply here.

Honestly Ritalin isn't strong enough to be particularly speedy, unless someone is either ridiculously medication sensitive, or prone to manic episodes. Otherwise it just is a waste of side effects. It's pretty much the weakest prescription stimulant there is.

Even Adderall and Dexedrine, which are harder hitting, don't make people HIGH. They release too slowly into the blood stream. It's nowhere CLOSE to what crack does, and way more targeted.

1:58 or so: Ritalin does not work that way. It is NOT a paradoxical reaction in children. Ritalin works in ADHD because of an underexpression of dopamine in the prefrontal cortex, which Ritalin kicks up to normal and thus makes concentration wonderfully, fabulously possible.

Look man, my neighbors kid was on five different meds at age 7, side affects was a schitz break down and then the best that the pediatric psychs had to offer this kid was institutionalization. The mom desperately turned to nutrition therapy and he is now living a normal life with minimal medications.

I've seen the CoS outright claim there is no such thing as mental illness. CoS hates anything that can legitimatly help people that is not a part of their scam cult.

Agreed. Brain-affecting medications have enough of a stigma already without CCHR using scare tactics to make them sound worse. This misinformation spreads and makes it harder for people to get the help they need. Sentiment not appreciated, CoS - I know when something's wrong with me, I know when I can't deal with it alone, and I certainly know that removing body thetans won't fix shit.

This isn't just insulting to psych patients - this bullshit harms anyone who legitimately needs psychiatric medication, just like it harmed Jeremy Perkins and his mother. The whole operation should try popping some of LRH's "pinks and greys" to see if that raging paranoia can be treated.
