My thing is when you said the subject of technical framing with the little box and the animation is that you can take any large frame in american animation and they can make some of the stupidest crap on the frame and call that animation like " Adventure TIme" for example. I fell in love with the Miyazaki films though they're pretty different from a lot of other anime. I like a few others too. But most of it nowadays is pretty horrible.
I used to pretend to be more into anime than I really was. I only like a few select animes, but I pretended to be more into anime because it was a fad. I can really only get into an anime if it really captures my interest, I can't watch one that doesn't immediately appeal to me in some way. I like anime, but you have to admit what this guy says is true. By technical standards the animation is mass production quality, even a technically superior anime (in relation to other animes) like cowboy bebop is remarkably lazy. It can't even compare something like Disney animation. I only watch anime for plot and style anymore, and for that I have to be picky.

Why Do We Focus So Much On The Art Style? There's More To Anime Than That. People Need To Learn To Focus Less On The Art And Animation, And More On Things Like The Characters, Story, Music, All That Stuff.
American animation certainly does have better animation, but Japanese animation has more attractive art. The quality of the art and animation certainly does affect the cartoon/anime, but if it is unattractive to the viewer, then what's the point? Not saying that american art is bad, by any means but you can't deny that Japanese art has more charm, and therefore pulls in more viewers.

Naruto's character design is extremely similar to Goku's in terms of color. Naruto's fox transformations are clearly based off of the Saiyans'ape transformations. How the fuck can you not see this?

@GamerThreeThousand I love Miyazaki's "Pixaresque" animation, but it's still a little choppy. The sad fact is that he still renders in 24 fps, even if it's very detailed, while Western animation goes for 36-48 fps on average. I still love how anime likes to render background shots to help with the immersion aspects, and I think TheJosephShow is a little harsh, but I have to cede to his fluidity argument. American/Western animation is more fluid than anime, even when it sucks.

I'm a fan of some Anime. DBZ, Bleach, Naruto (tho that is the bottom of my list, & filler not included). Most Anime concepts are so damn weird I have to say, wtf Japan? However, I also hate almost everything on American TV, cartoons included. It's so immature and filled with jokes I never found amusing even when I was at the targeted age. FLCL was retarded. 100%. Champloo? It was alright, nothing fantastic. IMO it lacked story depth. I find American quality to be more lacking than Anime I like.

@DylanRabon and honestly if you try hard enough you can find an anime you'd love like no other cartoon a few of the really super epic animes I have seen are Cowboy Bebop which has Super awesome animation and some really gritty realism on material and fabrics and has some awesome jazz thrown in, if bouty hunting badasses are't your thin their the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya which is a little fantasy slice of life kinda deal, theres really alot out there I think there's an anime x-men now too

I totally agree that the animation in anime is often rudimentary, but it compensates with lovely art. Opinionated, yes, but many would agree with me. Also note that art is subjective. Watch what you want to watch. What one would think is a masterpiece, others would think is garbage. Toleration for other's opinions and beliefs is the best way for both sides to get along. I'm an anime fan, but I do like american cartoons too, as I'm a brony. Love and tolerance!
I actually appreciate that he gave logical arguments. He's actually right about the technical aspects. Here's how I see it:
-Anime: Deeper storylines, more adult concepts, high detail and beautiful artwork.
-American animation: More technical and lively animation, with higher frame rates. Typically more humor-focused. The more mature animations are movies, not series. Series here have little overall plot.

The quality of the art and animation certainly does affect the cartoon/anime, but if it is unattractive to the viewer, then what's the point? @GamerThreeThousand I love Miyazaki's "Pixaresque" animation, but it's still a little choppy. The sad fact is that he still renders in 24 fps, even if it's very detailed, while Western animation goes for 36-48 fps on average. I still love how anime likes to render background shots to help with the immersion aspects, and I think TheJosephShow is a little harsh, but I have to cede to his fluidity argument. American/Western animation is more fluid than anime, even when it sucks.

I totally agree that the animation in anime is often rudimentary, but it compensates with lovely art. Opinionated, yes, but many would agree with me. Also note that art is subjective. Watch what you want to watch. What one would think is a masterpiece, others would think is garbage. Toleration for other's opinions and beliefs is the best way for both sides to get along. I'm an anime fan, but I do like american cartoons too, as I'm a brony. Love and tolerance!

I actually appreciate that he gave logical arguments. He's actually right about the technical aspects. Here's how I see it:
-Anime: Deeper storylines, more adult concepts, high detail and beautiful artwork.
-American animation: More technical and lively animation, with higher frame rates. Typically more humor-focused. The more mature animations are movies, not series. Series here have little overall plot.
-Both can be good or bad.
-Both types involve a broad range of genres.
To each his own.

i FUCKIN love anime. but i REALLY hate it when ppl act like an anime character. those certain actions are only meant for anime. then theres the ppl who think they know how to rate an anime. its fine if you DONT LIKE an anime. but when you say an anime sucks when clearly that anime is at the top 10 among the 1000+ animes out there. then thats a problem. ive never seen evangelion but i wouldnt say it sucks when its in the top animes. thats where i keep my mouth shut.

Another reason why I hate weaboos is because they spawn racist trolls like VeryProudtobeAsian -.- Not only is that guy racist, but he also gives a bad name to Asians (especially Japanese since he mentions them a lot) who are really nice people (one of my childhood friends is Chinese, and I'm also good friends with 2 Japanese people).

@ZBlue0 You know what's up. Tired of the fucking haters who have never even attempted to get into it and the obnoxious weeaboos altogether. Why can't somebody decide to try and improve the image of anime fans and anime in general? The people who are capable don't do shit and the people who do express themselves are always the type you wouldn't want to associate with. It seems that nobody really tries and it's a shame to see all of these people hating something they really don't get.
