It's not to do with him being black, it's do to with being a Democrat. These days the South just doesn't vote for Dems in presidential elections, except for Clinton, and he was a good ole boy himself, running against an unpopular incumbent. I'd say they have a slim shot in Virginia, Florida, Arkansas and West Virginia. An even slimmer shot in Tennessee and Louisiana. But unless this is a hugely transformative election (and based on the current polls, it won't be) they'll probably all go red.

No he cant. Barack reminds me of a man who is all talk but doesnt walk the walk. He doesnt have any real plans. He reminds me of my ex husband he would tell me all day how much he loves me and wasnt cheating on me. But was doing the total opposite, not showing any affection and obviously getting some elsewhere. Talk is Cheap Obama. Im voting for someone I know has worked hard for change not just talked about it. GO HILLARY show em how its done!

Balack Orama says he'll "look at" this or that. and uses words like "should" or "think about" This is not a do-er. Ron Paul for Prez for real freedom not more of the same police state. This guy is just plain creepy with his black lipstick and freaky looking alien wife miss perfect.
Very effective. I'm a retired white woman in Arkansas, and I think he's the man for the job. I made a contribution online. He's more thoughtful, less programmed, than Hillary. I voted for Bill every time he ran, but I think it's time to move on. They are just too divisive.
Some people have suggested that all the people in the video represent predominantly black constituencies. That's not true. Some of them are from predominantly white areas. Also the fact that a recent ABC poll had Obama beating all the other Democratic nominees in Iowa of all places shows that he has an appeal that can cross racial lines.
Yes, Doug Wilder, the first black governor from Virginia, won in a predominatly white state. In 1989 (when Wilder won), Virginia was 82% white. Wilder won 40% of the white vote with 97% of the black vote. Whether you think it fortunate or unfortunate, this is how most Democrats win especially in the South. VA was considered one of the most racist and conservative states at the time, but it is more progressive now and Obama has a chance of carry VA. Appealing across racial lines is key.
Thanks, just beautiful. My impression of deep south is Jena, Louisiana and teenagers getting threatened with lynching for sitting under a "Whites Only" tree on school property. Disgusts me that adults in the town allow it in the year 2006.
i believe in obama. i don't even live in america.

If this video is supposed to be about the primaries, ignore my last post. If not, it still stands. :-)

I see this was written a while ago ... since then the South has more than proven its allegiance to Obama, overtaking Hillary in delegate votes ;)

If he really wanted to, Obama could make the KKK burn their uni's in disgust. The Great Uniter has arrived!
