I'm frankly confused as to why Janelle Monae was even at this performance since she is such a shit performer in general but especially in comparison to Amy lee. So @iamplayswithsquirrel, I don't think Amy needs to add anything to her performances. She is a performer with a fantastic voice and a captivating stage presence.

This was such an amazing performance and it really is so great to see a band that you grew up with (especially one that isn't the most mainstream friendly) get to have the honor to perform at such a prestigious event. So proud! I just wish she hadn't flopped the high notes at the "run away" part, otherwise this was a top-notch performance!

If you've seen her perform back in the days of Anywhere But Home, you'd be surprised at the energy she poured into her performance. =)

@steveuk2007 Hmm, I strongly disagree with that. Quite a few great singers are also equally talented performers (see Janelle Monae for example, who also performed at this event). It's true that Amy doesn't need to rely on being great performer as much as someone who's limited in terms of having musical talent, but I think it's still a pretty essential skill to have as a live performer. I do appreciate Amy as she is, but I just expect a bit more from her in her performances, that's all.

I watched this show, back when it was on live! I definitely learned a thing or two about all of these very important women. Amy Lee is soo damn beautiful and talented! I love this band! :D And to all the haters : Yes, her voice crackled. Sometimes it was off, but IDFC! It was for a good cause people! And all you haters are doing is complaining about perfection and her vocals and her style! Just go and bake a freaking cake, ok? ILU Amy Lee! Evanescence, you all are AMAZIIING!!!

being in such a prestigious event she should have done bring me to life like how she did it in Lyrics and Legends. and her outfit...dont get me started. shes a little to much avant garde with that dress. she should have gone more fashion forward like she has been in the recent public concert appearances. i say the outfit in black she wore to her concert in LA would have gone well with this event. it was edgy-evening yet sophisticated and all in all well put together.

I honestly thought that they were going to play My Heart is Broken instead of Bring Me to Life because it was inspired about sex trafficing but Lost In Paradise was also a bit of a through off. But it all was an AMAZING PERFORMANCE. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY. THAT HAD TO BE SOME HELL OF A BIRTHDAY PRESENT

Also, while I was at the latest concert, I passed her and the whole band on an escalator. As soon as she saw all my Evanescence attire she seemed to get worried, but I just smiled and nodded and watched them all go down the escalator as bunch of fans tried to chase after. She was very clearly trying to get away and find some privacy. My point is: you guys have to be less judgmental and remember - despite her status, she is only human. She is a phenomenal artist, and a kind person.

I've seen them live in concert 6 times. The most recent was October 30, 2011 in Atlantic City. Flawless and amazing... And yes everyone - this is the most pitchy she has ever been. But even when she talked she looked like she was about to cry. She knew the importance of the event she was at. Seeing heartfelt interviews with her before, and even from her writings, I can see she's passionate about the causes. I'm sure she was just nervous for the momentous occasion. They chose perfect pieces.

Truth after watching many performances of Evanescence, Amy Lee still deals with being nervous under certain circumstances.  Being honored to perform for the honoree's for the Nobel peace prize winner's, let alone fellow women indeed was an ultimate honor for her and the band. So I just chuckled and smiled while listening to the songs they did..fully knowing how amazing and unique Amy Lee is to us who follow the band closely. Their music has been the glue holding my soul together for years <3
