  • The father of zar Nicholas II was Alexander III, not Alexander II.

    ;(

  • this is how the mystery got started.

  • this is how it happened. The family was tricked into a room thinking they were having their portrait taken and the person leading the revolt told them they were going to be executed. the killers then started firing and killed most of the family. Some of the sisters fought and were (if i remember correctly) stabbed. As they were carrying the bodies out they heard anastasia moan. She was still alive. they were burning the corpses and as they went to burn anastasia they couldnt find her.

  • I honestly did not know all of this.

  • how can alexi be alive? didnt he get shot in the ear?

  • i did some reading about nicholas he was basically a good guy but he was ill prepared to be in control he didn't mean to hurt anyone and he was very much devestated when people died he only went to that ball cause his people said it would be worse not to. he didn't deserve this fate nor did his children and wife

  • Not tatania...but Tat E ana

  • Rasputin took his revenge out on the tsar.

  • any good film that I can watch that will show the life story of the last russian empire family?

  • at least one of these old episodes has been solved. the search is over on this one.

the one about the coming ice age is still up in the air tho.

  • i wish they would've kept the original theme song and title screens in these re-runs. the originals were so much creepier. i remember actually being scared of the old lady when i was a kid just because of the atmosphere of the show. and the amityville horror episode? holy shit.

  • They didn't have a "Royal Yacht" - they might as well be saying imperial yacht

  • she'd die in 1918

  • I hate to say this, but the royal family had no warrior spirit, he should have fought back, but he never wanted to be a leader.

  • How would of his fighting back helped?

  • @Bretchops You don't want a certain group of people to take over your country, you have to fight back, if you just sit there and let people walk on you, people are going to control you. He knew what was going on, but he didn't want to face it, he never wanted to be a leader. The Royal family was too trusting, they let a crazy man (Rusputin) control them, and let them fill their heads with nonsense. Royal family didn't do much for russia. When you become leader of country, it no longer about

  • @Bretchops you it's about your people and your country. And the Royal family let the communist, take over, he let them break into their home, take them down in the basement and let them shoot them. As I said Nicholson, never wanted to be a leader, he was never happy being a leader, he wanted to smell the roses.

  • You're very right. I just want to know what he could have done. Nicholas as a person. You said it yourself, he wasn't the greatest leader ever so what could he have done? He didn't know how to do much. (no pun intended to him.)

  • @Bretchops when a Leader doesn't care about his country, his country goes to shit. He needed a back bone, but he just didn't care. His people where screaming for help, and he didn't listen. Him and his family as in their own little world.

Which is sad, and makes me mad that a leader would do that.

  • they were unarmed and shot hundreds of times, fighting back would've done nothing, and who knows? maybe they did try to fight back.

  • @nogoodbastid No, you don't understand. Nickloson was a very weak minded man. He believed anything someone would tell him. Half of his army turned against him and started to follow Lenin. The royal family were in their own lala land, they didn't care Russia, they had a leader who didn't want to be leader. So it was very easy to take the royal family down to the basement and shot them to death. Now, if he wasn't so trusting, acted like real leader who cared, and saw what was really happening..

  • @nogoodbastid... around him, and did something about it before it got out of hand. Lenin would have never taken over. His army wouldn't have changed sides. It so easy to take over a country when the leader doesn't care. Rasputin, a man from the country easily mind-washed the royal family. That how easy and weak the royal family was. There was a lot shady things happen behind the tsar's back that he knew about and he did nothing.

  • @LittleImpaler the tsar made attempts to get his family out of the country but was unable to be exiled.

  • the people also hated Nicolas because he also never told them that Alexei had hemophilia and that Rasputin was supposed to "cure" Alexei

  • @bcherefosho why would that matter to them ?

  • Quoth Vladmir Lenin: "We shot them. We shot them all. And their little dog too! ahahahaaha!!!"

Actually, he said "You can't have a revolution without execution." Simply put they had to kill the Czar and as many royals as they could catch or other governments would quickly and openly attack to re-prop up the monarchy. That was a lesson from the French example.

  • this documentary got a lot wrong. For istance, it states that Empress Alexandra was happy with social events and enjoyed them. The Empress actually hated social events and was very shy. She hardly ever went to balls.

  • @BarelyLiberal You have to realize this was made in the seventies, the information sharing between the United States and the Soviets were not...good for lack term. So, they were going with information handed to them by defectors, immigrants, expatriates, people with a reason to be pissed off at Lenin and talk up the greatness of the royal family.

  • FYI: Alexander the 2nd was Nicholas's grandfather, not father. His father was Alexandrer 3rd

  • Also from Wikipedia:

"Several women have falsely claimed to have been Anastasia, the most notorious of whom was Anna Anderson. Anderson's body was cremated upon her death in 1984, but DNA testing in 1994 on available pieces of Anderson's tissue and hair showed no relation to DNA of the Grand Duchess."

  • @beautystruck i kinda wish she was

  • @beautystruck actully they never had any D.N.A from any romanov and if you trully whant to know what happen to anastasia go to my channel and read (Romanovs the final word) they you will see picture of the emperial family as they did not die ,i am the product of anastasia for she is my great grandmother this is why i have photos of the emperial family in america

  • @IR0NSIDED They do have DNA, many European royals such as Queen Elizabeth II are related to the Romanov children. They are all related though Queen Victoria.

  • @IR0NSIDED Your lying. They all died excpet possibly Anastasia. Besides what proof do you have.

  • From Wikipedia: "Her possible survival has been entirely disproven. In January 2008, Russian scientists announced that the charred remains of a young boy and a young woman found near Ekaterinburg in August 2007 were most likely those of the thirteen-year-old Tsarevich and one of the four Romanov grand duchesses. Russian forensic scientists confirmed on April 30, 2008 that the remains were those of the Tsarevich Alexei and one of his four sisters."

  • @beautystruck "were most likely" and "one of the rour romanov grand duchesses and "one of his four sisters" does NOT prove that it "has been entirely disproven" those statements are not proof, but speculation at best.

  • @ztztzyzy I'm just quoting Wikipedia, and everyone knows that everything on there is not necessarily true, but a general consensus...

  • @ztztzyzy DNA evidence shows the girl was not Anastasia, but a Polish factory girl who disappeared.

    PWNED.

  • Comment removed

  • @beautystruck Supposedly the one daughter that was with Alexei's body was not Anastasia, but it was that of Maria, their sister.

  • Thank you very much for posting this. I remember when I first saw this back in the 1970s. But I must say that I liked the original 70s opening-credits theme music better -- more sinister and scary.

  • wow this must be an old show since it says anna is still alive

  • so there is no anna

  • Anna Anderson *was* a fraud. Some years ago they finally had forensic analysis done and it was found that she was the descendant of a Polish Factory Worker! On a personal note, you didn't have to be genious to see there was no likeness. At the rist of being cruel Anna Anderson simply wasn't pretty enough to be Anastasia.

  • @Wildflower01749 her name wasn't even anna anderson

  • @12phinnaeus nope!

  • She wasn't Anastasia. The DNA test which was confirmed a few years ago confirmed it.

  • I think that the excacuter saved anatasia and maria cas he liked here and anastasia becase he did not whent maria to be alone so and they left the contry and so maria thank him but she was said that all she had was her sis so she must of ask her love to bary her not fare form her family becase he nues whare they were baryd and rocymountain your not anastasia becase anastasia would have ben dead by now any wha ok!

  • @goodmd1242 nope they found both

  • no she isnt still alive today

  • no one is anastasis all the romanovs are dead

  • i'm anastasia romanov

  • No,

1- The missing Grand Duchess was her 2years older sister Maria not Anastasia..

2- All the missing bones were found this summer. So all the family is complete now, nobody escaped and the bolchevik were awfully right in their reports....

  • WAIT!!! she's still alive TODAY?

  • No. Even is she DID survive the revolution, which is doubtful, she'd be over 100 by now.

  • oh..

  • roughly 108 :)

which i think is highly unlikely

  • lol.. thanx!
