  • USE LEDs!!!!! NOW THEY ARE MORE DEVELOPED!!!

  • No thanks to CFB's!!! I just don't buy into the idea that a mercury, phosphorus, argon bulb is "good for the environment"??!!! Really, when they are dumped into landfills by the millions? 4~5 mg per shot. As an added bonus, your also tossing a small circuit board with chemicals inside a capacitor. The real kicker, they say it last 8x times as long unless you: use them in a bathroom, use them outdoors, use them upside down, use them with a dimmer, confined... YEA HOW ELSE DO YOU USE BULBS????

  • Why would I want to grow my babies with shitty ass bulbs to help 'save' the environment? Guess what folks... there are FAR WORSE THINGS that our hurting our planet right now then fucking bulbs. How about Major 'oil' companies hmm? Or that doesn't count?

  • I'd rather use candles to light my dark, cave-like house. Now I gotta search "How To Make A Fire"

  • u panzies are cry babys,. fish has mercury and people still eat it... i eat cfl dust for breakfast and snacktime... shit dosnt do shit

  • CFLs are great .......GREAT FOR CHINA ! our friends over in the ROC are messing up the planet faster than anyone else around the world ever did , most people have no idea how much waste all of these products make BEFORE there ever used in the home. the reality is in my home i have regular bulbs on dimmers ,we use so little light at night i have only replaced a few bulbs in 20 years . i figured out i use 1-2 dollars a month on light , everyone should try to use less , nighttime is for sleeping

  • @CactusBobsWorld actually, buying Chinese made CFLs creates a market for the waste mercury from China's coal burning plants. As their nation develops more they will likely move away from coal and if allowed will switch to nuclear power because it is one of the few sources that can compete for price/amount while drastically reducing waste. When/if they switch to nuclear power they will likely end up being the largest producers of atomic batteries.

  • they make led tv's now

  • when did the joker go green???

  • the mime is a turd

  • The only reason I get CFLs is that they last an incredibly long time. i dont care about the other stuff

  • Then if you don't care about the other stuff you should think about getting LED bulbs as they have a lifespan of 10 to 30 years. CFLs have 8 years.

  • yes but LEDs are really expensive and not nearly as bright as CFLs

  • I know but the truth is that LED technology is giving its first steps. Maybe from 10 years now you'll see only LED on the market and little CFL.

  • possible...if they can go brighter than japaneese LEDs

  • true. I boguht some for my room and eturned them the next day

  • @MrT3CH are you fucking dumb ? LED'S are way more bright !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LED bulbs are fine in fact i like them but they're too fucking dim

  • @ShadowrealHedgehog They have very bright LED lights, but they're expensive as all hell still. You can get full spectrum LED grow lights, that use 90w of power and put out the equivalent of a 400W high pressure sodium, only with a full sunlight color spectrum... but the damn things are like $300. They also make tube type ones, that work like the regular ballast bulbs... also expensive as hell.

  • @SunTzuLao a 90 watt led cant out perform a 400 watt hps are u fucking mad lol.. ive never even grown with either.. but from what ive read.. u are definetley wrong

  • dear jeff am sorry i spelled global wrong you dumb fuck go ahead and save the 75% and the gov will raise the tax on it 75% because there not getting there tax money you sheep baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa you must think free healt care is a good ideal dont you that should help save you some money I wonder who will pay for it me

  • yah i guess cuz 4 "daylight" cfl bulbs cost like 8 bucks. still what's wrong with spending less...sort of. actually ur kinda right, cuz ur just gonna spend that cash on washers and tv and shit like that which is pretty much the same...still...my translation of wut they r saying is "DON'T FUCK UP THE PLANET!"

  • #1 take bulb in hand #2 have our great goverment bend over #3 shove it up there ass (anyone who belives in globel warming is a sheep and belives the lie that there telling us needs need's help its just a way for our goverment to take more money out of our pockets

  • you will need... a retailer, a mime, and no sanity!

  • plz just someone tell me how much they cost in britain and wher eto get them iv bin lookig everywhere i need to grow just one cannabis plant just one and all i need is a fluorescent light bulb

  • lol taking "Go Green!" a step far eh?

  • CFL's = Eco FAIL!!

  • These bulbs do suck. You can't use them with existing timers, dimmers, photocells, etc. Need ones specifically for CFLs or the timer, etc. could overheat and cause a fire. Nice.

Plus they cost too much, don't last 7 years - I write the date on the ones I have and take them back and like one guy said, have mercury in them. The EPA suggests leaving your house for 15 mins after you break one!

Like everything green, you pay upfront that is all.

Going green should save us green!

  • We had one go recently, and we were a bit surprised. I'm pretty sure it was only two years old. That still isn't bad, though. But we were expecting seven years, like you say....

  • I have had three of these turds catch fire while in use. And how many gore fans knows these things have mercury in them which mean millions of them going in to our land fills. Because most people will NOT dispose of them properly. And if it breaks in your home you are to call a HazMat team to clean it up, because mercury is extremely dangerous. The average cost of clean up by a HazMat team is around $2000.00. That you the home owner have to pay. Yea these are great.

  • STOP SPAMING

  • This chick's accent is hawt.

  • haha. i thought you said chicken.

well i thought it was funny.

  • CFL lights are awful, and should you drop one, you could have an expensive clean-up on your hands if the mercury gets out.

Note to self, stock up on standard lights before they're banned.

  • Use LEDs. They're better than CFLs. Use less energy, are brighter, don't flicker, last longer.

  • Did you know that it can cost thousands of dollars to professionally cleanup the mercury from broken CFL's, CFL's can create "noise" in your electrical system, can prevent you from properly receiving radio signals, and may take a while to get to full brightness or if they are cold may not start at all... and pretty soon incandescents will be banned in America.

  • I use incandescent s to keep my baby chicks warm and reduce moisture and mildew in my sail boat in winter the central planning committee overlooked my specific needs

  • gd that guy is creepy

  • More like they last 1/2 times less and cost 10 times as much

  • and if you drop and brake one call the Hazmat team

  • 1 copy and paste

    2. send this to 2 other videos.

    3. hold your breath for 10 seconds

    4. press refresh twice

    3. LOOK AT YOUR BACKGROUND

  • 6. Realise you're an idiot when nothing happend

    7. Realise you're even more of an idiot for counting 1,2,3,4,3

  • How to choose a Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb:

Have someone else choose one, then kick their ass.

  • 1. copy and paste

    2. send this to 2 other videos.

    3. hold your breath for 10 seconds

    4. press refresh twice

    3. LOOK AT YOUR HANDS

  • I took my old Thermostrat to home depot to be recycled because it was full of mercury and they just though it on the trash can.

  • Hey you guys this is my friend singing his own songs on you tube. is he any good? please check it out and leave a comment.

    his name:is GUITARDUDE19901

  • SOMETHING GOOD WILL HAPPEN TO U AT 9:10 SOMEONE WILL CALL YOU OR TALK TO YOU ONLINE AND SAY I LOVE YOU OR ASK YOU OUT BUT HERES THE CATCH Send To 15 vids

  • I love waiting for flourecent lightbulbs to turn on for 20 minutes. *sarcasm*

  • I Love this

  • Here's an idea! DON'T CHOOSE A FLUORESCENT BULB! They're full of fucking mercury that is bad for the environment and MOST IMPORTANTLY: Human health! Fuck fluorescent!

  • @SunTzuLao Its better to properly dispose of them the use more energy. When you use more energy you use more coal and fossil fuels which are just as toxic.

  • @JcTechProductions not to mention, it doesn't do anything to help us use cleaner sources of energy... also flourescent lightbulbs are extremely bad for your health... they are brighter than natural light, so they screw up your circadian rhythm, they emit all sorts of radiation, and causes friggin skin cancer! FUCK THAT! Not to mention accidentally broken bulbs in the course of human events in your house or office. These things should be banned, period.

  • @SunTzuLao Less electricity usage = less fossil fuels being burned. There is less mercury in a cfl light bulb then in a thermometer so we should ban thermometers to? What about computers, they have 4 times the mercury. You also assume that everyone is just going to thrown them away. There are many free resources such as Earth 911 and other local recycling companies which you are LEGALY required to use. Sounds like your hypocritical and don't know the facts at all.

  • @SunTzuLao In regards to florescent light, it has never been linked to caner any more than regular bulbs. We might as well just make sunlight illegal because it releases more radiation than a light bulb. You have just been hooked into the ecological hysteria of today. Its is sad to see your biasts overpowering your emotions into spreading false claims. It would do you good to know the facts, or for that manner any facts. Might i suggest the library they have many scientific books unlike web

  • @JcTechProductions Actually, it has been proven that working or living under the constant presence of these lights disrupts circadian rhythm, which, just like lack of adequate 10pm - 2am sleep (approximate) puts you more at risk of cancer, depression, and a whole host of other health issues. The mercury in thermometers is dangerous. Fortunately we have microprocessor, alcohol, and spirit based thermometers that contain no mercury. Regular bulbs have not been implicated in cancer risk!

  • @SunTzuLao Also, incandescent bulbs don't waste anything, especially in cold climates, they're "Less" efficient because heat is generated as well as light, where fluorescent generates only (inferior quality) light. For the northern climes, indeed most temperate zones, incandescent is a better choice. People using clotheslines would save much more power than a bunch of these death bulbs you're pushing.

  • @JcTechProductions The mercury from one fluorescent light bulb pollutes, according to **some** activist groups, 6000 gallons of water beyond levels safe for drinking. In most U.S. states, it is legal to dispose fluorescent bulbs as universal waste, and most people will. You aren't going to be successful in getting most people to recycle a damn thing, period, deal with it. Doing without these flickering daemons is best, there's better technology out there, better still to focus on clean power.

  • @JcTechProductions hahah seriously right... i agree.. i think someone would have to roll around in cfl dust and have skin contact for days on end to harm them much.. im more scared of the air in my city then any of the cfls in my house

  • @SunTzuLao but they save money so whats more inportant money or health? realy dude ;)

  • @bigbobgotu The mercury only hurts you if break it and put it in your body.

  • @SunTzuLao What's the best?

Incandecent bulbs: Last for a shorter period of time. Contain argon (hard to find gass) and wolfram (relatively hard to find metal). Are medium range priced. Much of the energy goes as waste to heat.

Fluoorescent bulbs: Last 10 yrs. or longer. Contain mercury (rellatively hard to find metal). Are more energy efficient. Are pricy.

  • can anyone recommend a CFL that doesn't hum extremely loudly? I recently convinced my family to try them out (even if I'm the only one who's using them) but the bulbs hum a bit loud. I know fluorescent lights hum initially but can anyone tell me if there's a quieter brand? if not I can live with it.

  • mime made my day 0:18 XD

  • This may not be new to you all but the after use is important to realize that safely disposing of the mercury in the bulbs can be dangerous depending on the amount of bulbs used .

Example being a landlord with many different locations to keep well lit . Just be well informed at how to properly get rid of the bulbs after wards

  • i'll be honest, i wasnt going to watch this until i saw the mime in the thumbnail

  • same lol

  • Well, with this crisis going on I bet people will start changing over to this bulbs so the electricity bill doesn't get high.

I wish more people started going green (not vegetarian, green as in saving energy, producing less wastes, etc).

  • i wanna ifone

  • @FretRipper9021:

trui i just hate it tho..ppl just DONT care and they think the gov wil take care of everything...

btw im 16 i feel the same way

  • @krazykobra29 u and fret r so right protect the earth now and the future generations will b glad were not gonna b long gone when the earth turns into mars or venus i want a world that is living with nature not against

btw im 16 and want a greener planet whats gonna happen in the future i dont know but i dont want it like mars thats for sure.

    Protect Earth

p.s. ur comment was only 5 hours old when i found it

  • I had enough of finding the same videos in my subscription box. *going to push unsubscribe*

  • i wish ppl would take this stuff more seriously

  • @krazykobra29:

The reason why peope dont take this seriously is because they think "We'll be looong gone by the time this shti happens" and im 13 and i dont wanna be living in a friggin wasteland when im 35-40

  • well.. that's your problem..

  • i heard CFLs give off alot of radiation.

  • Not necessarily, they give off a little bit of UV but it isn't enough to do anything at all.

  • ...

  • CFL's are great for growing and they don't burn my plants when I forget to turn them off.

  • you're not gonna yield more than a couple grams of dry product per plant using CFLs. I will stick with my 1000W HPS setup, thank you very much :)

  • ??? Grams? Product? What the fuck are you talking about?

  • Somebody watched "stuff Happens" on planet green the other day

  • yay i use CFL

  • Look at your sentences, your the stupid one.

  • you're

  • "your," really? you might want to check your own sentences.

  • you're* nice try.

  • ok wtf

  • CFL's can cause skin cancer.

  • so can walking outside into sunlight. Come to think of it, EVERYTHING causes cancer these days.

  • I know what you mean but worse then any other kind of bulb, it emits more UV. Just don't fall asleep beside one.

  • @bglad4life life causes cancer, mercury causes nervous system and other internal damage, that can not be treated. The frequency of the light generated by these things also screws with your body processes.

  • just about anything is carcinogenic.

  • or get a regular fluorescent tube lighting... i have one for my bedroom, i got so used to it that i cant sleep with any other type of light. besides the TV. xD

  • Those lightbulbs suck balls, they save energy because there is barely any light..

  • And I guess if people follow your dumbass attitude then you wouldn't need to worry. Because there would be plenty of light when the fuckin world catches fire. Idiot.

  • led light bulbs are better than incandescent and cfl light bulbs. i bought one for my lamp. they lasts ten years.

  • but isn't the light quality like an LED light? It's all blue and industrial-looking.

  • there is a nice led light bulb that is brighter than the others, it is called the "EarthLED Evolux". it's a nice bulb, i favorited that in my computer; so one day, i might order it online. it's equivalent to a 100 watt incandescent light bulb.

  • some are not blue, but i don't know if they're industrial like.

  • lol
