Of course, Laing's corner was happy for making the distance. Who in their right mind would think Laing could last with Duran. But, at this time of his career, Duran had no motivation, he couldn't have cared less. This is the disappointment in Duran's corner. Duran just had no fire and it hurt those who put in the time to help train him. As you can see by his corner, they are very disappointed in Duran's lack of desire. My view, Duran still won, don't listen to announcers, Bernstein hates Duran.

1 commentator Laing by 8 rounds, the other by 5 rounds yet 1 judge had Duran by a round and the other 2 by 2 rounds each.
TOTAL BOLLOCKS, the same thing happened with Duran vs Barkley which was close, I had it a draw, but it was NOWHERE near what the judges scored it by, in favour of Duran of course.
Lets not forget ROBERTO DURAN was A LIGHTWEIGHT, he took barkley to school and dropped him and was 38 at the time, barkley said DURAN was the greatest fighter he ever fought !!
the only travesty in this fight was it should have been unanimous,obviously duran would have beat him in his day but who knows how good kirkland could have been? most experts and top pro's who sparred with him thought he could have been a hall of famer

FIX WAS IN>..Don King wanted to end Duran's career...just like he did to other fighters. These announcers were paid off, the judges were paid off...I hope Don King has a day of judgement because he will FAIL. Duran didn't fight a good fight, but he still outpointed Lang. Listen to these announcers, talking as if THEY were making what would happen in the rest of Duran's career. This is a hit job, turn down the sound and watch the fight...you will see Duran win, slightly, but he wins.

Laing went on a 6 month bender after this fight, he could've made his fortune, but instead got wasted in a Nottingham crack house.
Duran was still a great fighter at this stage, but just picked the worst possible fight to match his style.
