  • 7 people think red solo cup is a real country song

  • 7 people don't deserve to see the backside of thirty!

  • Boy they sure don't make them like this anymore!

  • no one sings it better than john conlee 1

  • @richbigbro john conlee 1? wtf is the 1 for

  • Back on the bottom with no will to climb...

  • Versailles, Kentucky;'s own John Conlee.....Another proud country musician from the great Commonwealth of Kentucky along with Tom T. Hall, Eddie Montgomery, Troy Lee Gentry, Steve Warriner, Dwight Yoakam....the entire band Exile, from My home town of Richmond...Kentucky has a strong connection to Country Music and I am proud to have a small part of that being the grandson of an original member of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys!

  • @torchwoodjackharknes <<< WOW u r very very smart and proud of KENTUCKY SINGERS !!! Im sure "" MISS LORETTA"" would be proud of your knowledge or is BUTCHER HOLLOR no longer in KY ???

  • Steve Wariner is a Hoosier. He's from Noblesville, Indiana.

  • @torchwoodjackharknes if eddie montgomery is from Ky...wouldnt john michael also be from Ky?

  • @billscott1988

Sadly, John Micheal is also from Kentucky, he is also a king of DUI he can't seem to stay out of Jessamine or Fayette County drunk tanks

  • @billscott1988 they all like to drink billy g

  • I drink that much with no problems and dont know why????

  • God I love this song.

  • What a great country song, one of my favorutes. I wore this LP out!!!

  • Someone mentioned George Jones. Back in summer of '85 I saw Conlee and George Jones at the same concert in a farmer's field. Well down at the side of the stage was Tammy Wynette and George was singing the love song he had written for her. They wer broken up by this time. The entire audience had fixed their stare on Tammy as George sang her song and she stood there crying along with 3000 other people. And then it was her turn. Powerful night. It was Woodstock for me!

  • Good country.....

  • You're absolutely right jloring....... George Jones would actually be my NUMBER 1 pick, hands down! I also like some of the later country singers such as Jonh Anderson, Randy Travis, Alan Jackson and others. Come on Country Boys......let's TAKE THIS COUNTRY BACK!

  • @recordrick <<< THUMBS UP MY FRIEND !!!! lets take it back !!!

  • @recordrick learn how to use the fucking reply button

  • bring back to old days with my dad and his buddies sittin around gettin drunk....Man i miss those days just hangin with my pops and listin to good ole country music.....

  • I'll check your site out.............thanks.......... I have over 11,000 vinyl records and usually listen to them............however, you tube seems to be pretty cool. Thanks again, Rick

  • One of the best of the older country singers. Spent many nights listening to this one on the bar jukebox! I'm almost 67 years old and NEVER WILL stop loving country music. John Conlee, Hank Williams, Hank Jr., Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty and the many others. Whatever the hell they're playing on the radio now shouldn't be allowed on the AIR! Especially the trash the young kids listen to! Keep listening to the REAL music fans.

  • @recordrick <<< Almost 500 videos on my channel and probably 99 percent of them PURE COUNTRY, oldies, and southern Gospel...... maybe couple modern country lol. So keep checkin the Midnight Ryders channel and videos !!!

  • @recordrick

Don't forget George Jones ... he would be near the top of any TRUE country list!

  • @recordrick jamey johnson is our only hope to bring real country

  • @MrJustinbama <<< IF Jamey is our only hope we r SUNK cause Jamey Johnson is a LONG LONG way from being old country

  • 39 and it sure sounds alot like me

  • bullshit conway was nothing to conley a great musicin but nothing to conley

  • Conway who?

  • @MrPraetorianiv <<< ""MR"" CONWAY the ledgend ...... i like John Conley but he will never touch Conway

  • It is sad that the younger generation will never know who conway and the others were.

  • @SuperWanda1964 I tell you this young generation does not not know what country music is. More specifically they don't know what music is period. I'm 20 years old and i'm ashamed to be a part of this generation I wish i could have been born back in the goosd old days when country was country and people knew how to live.

  • I was on the 'Back side of 30' had split off with wife #1 best move I ever made and I had a blast for about 5 years.Nearly died but it was a blast none-the-less

  • Great country song by a great country artist!

  • @GeneStewart71269 So True

  • I'm 33 and cant get enough of this song. she did go back to mom with the daughter. my empty apartment sure doesn't feel like a home.. I'm back on the bottom and getting by. you should see the looks i get when I'm stopped at a red light with my window down blasting this on my stereo lol.

  • @davidallenroth I can relate somewhat...tho my circumstances are different to be sure. Separated from the wife, then she passed away before I could fix things. Now I'm 32, in an empty apartment, in some ways better off than I was say, a year ago, but lonesome as hell and stuck on her memory...and I've been known to take to the bottle. Damn good song regardless of any situation.

  • GOD I LOVE THIS GOOD OLD COUNTRY!!

  • John Conlee is another of The Living Proof who shows us all how Country should be done, no cheap frills or thrills, just the honest to God TRUTH!

  • @jebarr7391ngc <<<<< TRUE TRUE TRUE !!

  • Still good music, glad i ran across it., until I started listening to it. Didn't think about the emotional response it would....{emotional moment}.... create until it was too late. Guess that's what makes the good ones though, when you can relate.

  • I'm on the backside of twenty, and been married for 4 years. This song makes me scared to get older. The pain he breathes of losing his wife & son is palpable.

  • @foolclip <<< THANKS for the comment but from someone well on the back side of thirty i can tell u DONT WORY about gettin older just enjoy life while u can

  • @Chuck5653 JAMEY JOHNSON !! If you like this you'll love him!!

  • @waylonlover859 <<<< JAMEY JOHNSON cant wipe the dust off the TRUE CONTRY singers shoes..... He couldnt even open the door for ALAN JACKSON, WAYLON, MERLE, GEORGE, CLINT and a few more !!!! JAMEY JOHNON WILL NEVERRRRRR carry the TRUE COUNTRY banner

  • @Chuck5653 im 25 and i have to give my dad some major credit for always listening to classic country.Thank God for songs from the heart.thats what real music is about.

  • DAMN! John must have checked out MY life before he wrote this number. Great song but SADLY it is too true for too many of us.

  • I've always liked John Conlee's music and how it tells a great story, even though it's not always a happy one, that a lot of people can relate to at some point in their lives. Good music, great voice. Thanks for posting it!

  • Great Video! Never been divorced and been married for nearly 20 years but still I say RESPECT to all that have fallen and to you Ryder3

  • @WelakaWombat ... THANKS for the comment ! comments like this make me want to keep makin videos !!

  • love the song, could have done without the VIOLINS though. The rest is great, 3/4 that changes to a walking bass with backbeat in the chorus - love it, gives the illusion of swing. Fabulous - thanks for posting.

  • @skrivis52 Hey, message me when you read this. What does that mean what you wrote, I`m just curious. Such as walking Bass??

  • @bvick777 The song is in 3/4 time and the bass notes in the verse are simple (and 1 rest rest) but in the chorus it goes 1 2 3 and another emphasis is only on the notes between (1 and 2 and 3 and) with only the and (the backbeat) and it adds motion and fullness without getting faster. Mostly this is done in 4/4 time, but this is 3/4 time. Then it goes back to the simple feel and then the WALKING feel 1 and 2 and 3 and......... on the chorus.

  • God i miss hearing him on the radio, this brings back some good memories

  • The theme of an AA meeting!

  • seem.s like life goes unremarkablefor to30.s 40.s and then you rember how it was to be younger
