  • i personally liked his 1984 performance in wembley or rocket man. his voice has never been more clear and powerful

  • 1 person doesn't know how to appreciate real talent and music.

  • I saw Elton John right around this time, except it was in . . . Greensboro, North Carolina! I still remember he came on the stage with his huge sunglasses, riding on the shoulder of this huge guy.

  • Only a true artist can have a pure video with no dislikes

  • The best version...

  • One of my favorites musics by him!

  • lol wow this was exactly one week before i was born

  • his face at 2:30 is remarkable!

  • I think he may be the only artist whom I would prefer to hear his live recordings over his studio recordings. He's just so DAMN GOOD live!

  • superior version but ends on a whimper

  • What month in 77' was this?

  • @Noodles7791 November 03 1977,

  • @godwhyisthistaken I was one of the riggers for this show, Stevie Wonder did appear for one song only. Kiki Dee also made an appearance. At the time she was seeing Elton's bass player an American whose name escapes me now.

  • @lennyrickenbacker Dee Murray (deceased)

    peace

  • What month in 77' was this?

  • I'd pay £50,000 to travel back in time to see this gig.

WE ARE ALL ROCKET MEN AND ROCKET WOMEN. AND SPACE ISN'T LONELY BECAUSE OF THIS!

  • Came out when I was 7, loved so much playing as a child...clear up until I was cruising around at 17 as a teenager singing it at the top of our lungs as the sun came up in the morning. back then we really did think it was gonna be a long long time, fun how our view changes.

  • @JozieHarleyAngel you stop listening to Elton?

  • With your permission, I use this clip online - eltonjohnz.narod.ru

  • @laro46 sure mate lol Elton John's Property I guess.

  • I like this version instead of the original recording

  • this show was a charity gig for a football charity called Goaldiggers..tickets were five pound..a lot then,,Elton had just finished his solo tour with ray cooper. Stevie Wonder did guest but only on one song..which I cant remember. The support act was a band called China which was a Davey Johnstone band..they were awful but I had not spent a fiver to see them. Elton was great that night. The arena at wembley is not used so much for concerts which is a shame.

  • @jeremychaundy

Stevie Wonder was indeed on for the last tune, Bite your lip. However he didn't sing and the band were kicking footballs into the audience for fun. Cooper man actually scored a direct hit and blew a couple of lights out ;) All together Elton rattled through 23 songs, I've still got the programme and I wrote them all down (pretty anal I know!).

  • Great artist,

    great songs...

  • lolzzzzzzz looks like one of the background singers stole Robin Williams' Mork suspenders

  • I've been looking for a good copy of this concert for years. So far, all Ive been able to find look like 10th generation VHS dubs.

Can any one tell me how I can get a good copy of this show?

  • Idk but i wish i did, this was from a CD that had a colection of vids on it, like some wembly shows, australia, Maybe it was Love songs?? lol, yeah, guy babylon RIP :[

  • I might be slam full of it, but that looks like edgar winter om the flying V. thank you for posting!

  • lol yeah he does thats Davey Johnstone he's the original guitarist on these classic tunes..now he's w/ Elton in Vegas still looks the same long hair

just older he seems to be a hell of a nice guy in interviews that i can see.

  • XOXO

  • da ist dampf unter der mütze!!

    gruß der karaut

  • Perfect song, amazingly rendered here. Nice !

  • wow, beautiful beautiful rendition...and the crowd has a life their own
