  • Strangely, the USS Cyclops and her sister ships, the Proteus and the Nereus were all lost in the same manner, that is by vanishing. (the Proteus vanished sometime in November 1941, followed by the Nereus about a month later)

  • @UXB1000

The Proteus Class Colliers have a reputation for being unlucky all four were lost at sea, three (Cyclops, Nereus, and Proteus) vanished while making the exact same journey albet 20 years apart and carrying the exact same cargo (Metallic Ore), the fourth, Jupiter, is better known to the public by a different name: USS Langley and was scuttled after being crippled by Japanese Dive Bombers

  • you forgot the HMHS Britannic Titanic's Sister. Also the Carpathia was lost in WW1

  • @blackpanther339

    Lost Ships IV

I don't use the same ship twice on these Lost Ships Videos

  • ok first, yee. The people who died, may they rest in peace true

but when called this video ??? ghosts from the world war 1

    so where are the ghosts?

    i just see some ships

  • @vampmire1

I was using the word Ghost as another way of saying Forgotten and I was talking about the crews more then the ships themselves

  • @snakes3425

    ohh sorry man

  • The people who died, may they rest in peace.

  • YOU MENTIONED CALIFORNIAN?! My goodness! She's very much forgotten that she actually sank!

  • @Sugerloadedgirl789

There is one other ship in here that was connected with the Titanic, HMS Hawke was the cruiser that collided with the Olympic

  • @snakes3425 I know! You're not the only one that loves ships! :D

  • is that Califorian the one accused of not help titanic in 1912?

  • @24chancer

    Yes

  • @snakes3425 i thought it was the carpathia that didnt help the titanic in time

  • @DHAirsoftSniper22

Carpathia was the ship that responded to Titanic's SOS, Californian didn't recieve the SOS due to her radio being switched off a half hour before the accident and the lookouts misintrepreted Titanic's distress rockets which were being fired at the wrong intervals due to a communications break down amongst Titanic's crew and therefore didn't respond even though she was closer

  • @DHAirsoftSniper22, they had Ice Fields between them & the Titanic and could not get around them in time to rescue the people in the ship.

  • make more

  • Can you please put back sleeping sun as the back round music it was much better.

  • Do you mind if I also use this song for my video? I can't figure out a good song to conclude my world war 1 tribute videos (year 1918).

  • @lafther210

    Feel free

  • @snakes3425

thank you. Now my series is complete.

    As always, great video!

  • Gawd...I remember reading about the three amoured cruisers lost in September 1914. They were all in the same formation, and each one was sunk in turn. Such is war...sadly.

  • @thespawnof66 Yes, and although I am a proud brit, it was an embarrassing moment for our navy. All three ships patrolling a fixed line with no destroyer escort. When the first ship to be hit (Aboukir) exploded, Hogue pulled up along side to assist. Hogue was then twice and then, unbelieveably, Cressy, despite seeing U9, did the same and launched all her boats to assist the other 2 sinking ships. Cressy was then hit twice and all three sank. A dark day in our navies history!!
