  • sounds like its gunna die...muscle car with cams sounds good...not so much import :/

  • @FoxBodyMike87 typical fanboy

  • lumpy cams, love it.

  • Now that's a big cam idle.... Lovely.

  • I'm so jealous!! how much whp you making on what type of dyno?

  • @haasguidod101 IIRC around 310whp on a mustang dyno with 91oct.

  • @miusangho That's the same whp I made on the DD aka (heartbreaker) dyno with my VIII 308whp on 92 oct at 20 psi. I don't have cams yet I just love the lope of them tho.

  • Let's go fishing!

  • Great video Bruh...

  • sounds like a big old Cummings Diesel at idle what a let down

  • @DriftKing41091 whats a cummings?

  • @bkeinath Go to this link your exhuats sound exaclty identicle.

    youtube.com/watch?v=aTjZ-_jTzSM&feature=related

  • @DriftKing41091 other than that nice looking Evo

  • sounds like a desiel. what a let down.

  • sounds like a muscle car...... well almost! still really nice though!

  • Nasty! shoulda revved her up

  • Ride sounds SWEEEEEET!...do you still have on the resonator or is that deleted as well.

  • where did you find these cams for $600 shipped? i cant find them any less than $675

  • @jesse8t $590 from maperformance shipped M 3" s too

  • Did you actually feel the difference in this cam swap with only these mods? People are telling me without a bigger turbo these will actually hurt the power of the car? Thanks

  • what do cams do!???

  • @Dfrogman lmgtfy.com/?q=what+do+cams+do&l=1

  • @r3compile nice that was a cool animation

  • sounds sik man, sounds kinda lyk a rotary

  • To anyone thinking about HKS 272's for their IX your wasting your money. The IX stock cams are almost identical to the HKS 272 grinds for the IX. If your gonna go with anything go with FP,Kelford,GSC, or Cosi's

  • shoulda had big al tune it from dynoflash.

  • sounds so suck, damn.

    check my evo out!

Authority exhaust, nobody has a video of it but me!

  • where can I get the Greddy ti catback exhaust??

  • Hey man I have an evo ix and basically want my idle to sound like this, the only mods you have done (did) to the car is just the m3 cams and the downpipe, greddy ti catback? No upgraded cam gears, intake manifold, ect?

  • do you happen to remember what your idle was set at your cams sound alot diffrent then mine.

  • sweet car man. sounds awesome, wasnt that exhaust one of the best $1400 you could ever spend? i never regret spending so much on jsut a catback...oh btw those m3's sound beast!

  • lmao did you just bridge port that thing lol jk sounds hella dope

  • If your stuck in traffic with an evo just set that bitch to gravel and use the trusty sholder LOL :) EVO FTMFW !

  • i have m2 cams sounds a little lumpy but i might switch to a fp5r or the cosworth m3 and my friend has an 8 with hks 272 sounds just like this love that sound nice evo man

  • how much did bryan charge you for the tune?

  • He just put a 13b rotary in it! hahah

  • FTW!

  • What rpm is did the car idle at dude? Sounds incredible I have HKS 272s in my car and theyre not choppy enough for me, these are exactly what I want and they have the power to back it up too.

  • Idles rock solid at 850rpm.

If you have a IX then, yeah the hks 272s will sound a bit "mild".

HKS 272 on the VIIIs sounds good though =)

  • Oh wow thats nuts, my idle is right at 850 also and the HKS sound almost stock! hahah, yea the 8's tho with HKS 272's sound relatively close to your cossies, very choppy. I definitely need to swap em out.

  • Shit, that more I talk about it, the more I miss my evo....Someday I am going to buy another one...someday...

Get valve springs and retainers if you do swap them out for M3s. Hell, throw in a HTA 35R or FP red while you at it lol

  • Oh dude I could never sell my Evo, every time I get out of it my face hurts from smiling too much. Ya the valvetrain will be upgraded for sure, and Im gonna be sending my stock turbo to FP to convert it to a Red with an 80mm inlet and have the hotside ported for good measure too =D I cant wait till spring haha.

  • gotta go 280's with a IX. sounds good though! nice!

  • pretty sure cossie m3's are 280s

  • @Svendiesel yeah sounds nice!

  • Yeah i can understand that, but your 335 don't idle like your evo does lol

  • What?! Sold! damn man that was a nice setup I am in the bayarea as well. what you rockin now?

  • Yea sometimes i regret it but I have a 08 335i sedan now and it's much more livable than the evo during slow traffics

  • I couldn't imagine driving my evo daily in bumper-bumper traffic. Nice choice with the 335i. I like them a lot.

  • Hey man, I have watched this video about 50 times or over that. And, the car still sounds amazing. Seriously, one of the best sounding evo's i have heard in awhile. that isn't fully built.

  • Thanks everyone for the compliments. The car is sold 6 months ago...I really miss it ....

  • that sounds so sick :) thats the same setup i'm about to put on my evo ix

  • me 2

  • How much whp did it do on GST mustang dyno??

  • well we are talking about toda cams so thats what Im talking about.. my bad if your confused

  • will the stock valve springs snap if there is upgraded cams?

  • ive been running 272 cossworth cams for a while on stock valve springs, and they havent messed up , but if i have the money i would of put them on just to be safe.

  • omg.....get an exhaust shield! lol

  • Very nice

  • huuhh....like rotary engine

  • damn...these cams sound fukin crazy

  • OOOHHHHHHHH that sounds BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!

  • and to the conversation about the vtec killer cams, You do know that you WILL NOT have vtec once you get those cams, And you dont need to build your motor for shit to have them, its just a helper if its built when you do it.

  • WTF are your retarded? please do your research before you start talking about shit you dont know. VTEC KC will basically mean your car is in vtec 24/7 you dont need to wait a certain RPM for them to engage. This means that the stock VTEC cams have a third lobe for vtec, when vtec engages, it activates the pin on the head which pushes the valves up higer so that it uses the 3rd lobe, vtec killer cam shafts, removes this lobe and your in vtec at all times. Sorta the boost without the lag.

  • are you fucking serious... your calling me retarded and your saying the same fucking thing I am... except you took more time to actually go search it up on the internet... and write out the correct operation.. It disables vtec... I have a TODA catalog with the deccription..

  • they don't disable vtec you dipshit. It has nothing to do with the diff. cams. the one camshaft itself changes its profile via the ecu at diff rpms. Vtec varries the timing and the lift. Do your reseach b4 you talk shit.

  • holy shit ... another dumbass... GO FUCKING READ IT FROM TODA DI_FUCKING_RECTLY!!! it DISABLES VTEC but the profiles are just like having vtec all the time...

  • here mother fucker... this is the discription.. mid rocker cam is removed both pins are changed reducing valve train mass disabled vtec system removes fluctuations in the oil pressure system securing a reliable oil feed... You fucking joke... talk shit if you KNOW SHIT!

  • who the fuck said anything about toda... im speakin directly of honda .

  • And yes you should be built at least head wise of course, the stock valvetrain will not take it so well.

  • shut the fuck and you do your damn research silly faggot... they do disable the vtec but it is like vtec all the time.. There are 3 diffrent type of cam settings you can choose from and You dont have to build the head they just require the valve spring retainers... JDM DUMBASS

  • damn you got ford bmw cams???? holy shiznit

  • rofl pretty funny haha

  • so what are the numbers???

  • it says in the description 280/272

  • wow nice smart guy going to bryan hes awesome.

  • If anyone is looking to get the new M3 Cams for there Evo IX let me know I can get some for hella cheap under $600 Shipped :D Also the new Kelford Cams are hella sweet too :D

  • if your gunna go with the toda cams you need to have your internals nice and built so those vtec killers can perform Real good

  • very nice pur to it

  • how much did these cams run you?? and is this on stock valve train??

  • cams itself were shy of $600 shipped. Stock valvetrain for now.

  • I think I just came. Please tell me you have some driving vids with these cams. They sound mean as hell, but have you had any trouble? Stalling/sputtering? How is it around town? Did you have upgrade springs/retainers?

Hoping for a set for my next mod!

  • Sorry, I really haven't gotten around to take some driving vids, but it sounded just as mean (or not mean) in real world. Decrease in vacuum is expected for these aggressive cams, around town, it's livable as long as you don't drive lots of severe uphills or tons of stop and go. Stock valvetrain for now, but i don't rev it past 7600 so it should be fine, but upgraded valvetrain is desired.

  • when you got them tuned did they not rescale the idle graph?

  • i dont know what does thte M3 stand for and M2???? LMK pro-favor

  • kickass evo!!

vut why would you get 280 intake, 272 exhaust? why not both 280s?

  • If he doesn't wanna go cat-less, I suggest your friend to take a look at those Milspec 100 cell cat, it's been proven to flow much better than other so-called "highflow cat", which is pretty restrictive.

  • Sounds really good! I just got my Cobalt running after building the motor, and it sounds similar at idle. I love the sound of a cammed 4 banger at idle! Also it looks like your from AZ, which is where I'm from.

  • THanks! Yeah the sound of the car definitely sounded like it has 4 more cylinders in it after the cams! I have a few camero drivers asked me why my car would sounded like that ;)

I lived in Phoenix for 4 years, currently I am in the San Francisco bay area, I kinda miss AZ though!

  • this is so far the best sounding evo ive heard online.........

  • Thanks mate =)

  • what sort of mods you have in the car at the moment?

cause other evos dont sound as throaty as yours.

  • Actually you will be surprised how little mods I have on the car =)

Greddy Ti catback has the most to do with the sound, and I have a catless RSR downpipe, K&N drop-in filter. That's pretty much it for power mods, well, of course, the cams lol

I also got Zeal V6 coilovers, 9k/10k springs by swift. Enkei RPF1 17X9 wheels, +35 offset, 245/45/17 Bridgestone RE-01R rubbers

  • how many cats does ur car have? im guessing just 1?

i think u should remove it and get a better sound. i had a supra years ago and ripped out the cats. (its illegal btw)

how much did the cams cost u?

  • Yeah stock there's only 1 cat, and yes, i did took it out the first week of owning the car ;)

The sound of the Supra is 10x better than my car, allow me to say =)

  • the 2JZ-GTE sounds better? u recon?

generally speaking 6cyl sound better than 4cyl.

the thing is, the supra 3l actually sounds different to the GTR 2.6l.

but then again, ur car sounds awsome for a 4cyl man. can u post another video on here with u revving it abit?

supra has 2 cats as standard ripping it out will give u a big heafty fine, in my countries anyway.

  • ok i was asking because most people run 272/272. i like to try things out myself

  • 280's produce a good amount more torque than the 272's.

The only reason to go with 272 is if you want it to idle stock-like as well.

  • You will still notice idle lope with the 272's. The MIVEC head helps the lope, but it is still pretty noticeable. You can change the amount of lope through tuning.

  • sounds awesome. how do you like those cams? how come 280/272 and not 272/272?

  • These cams are pretty good, gave me a fat mid range and lots of torque (319wtq on a mustang dyno, 91 oct).

These are M3s, so they are 280/272 11.6mm lift, wheras the M2s are 272/272 11.0mm lift.

  • did you need to up grade your valvetrain?

  • I am still on stock valvetrain now, and Yes a valvetrain upgrade is pretty much mendatory with the 11.6mm lift. I won't rev it higher than 7800 now, til I get a chance to get a ported head and change out the valvetrain.

  • what brand you going with supertech?

  • 280 cammed with no valvetrain upgrade? Not a good idea. Just sayin.

  • When you say that upgrading the valve train would be a good thing, do you mean like the springs and retainers?
