As far as size Artest is no doubt the better match up. Just like Lebron, he has the physique of a Football player. But, Kobe Bryant always guards him when they play each other, for most of the games, and Lebron has never had a "big" night against him. Bruce Bowen put him to bed during the 2007 NBA Finals. Shane Battier (with much help from Artest) handed him one of his worst games this year. And Tayshaun Prince has done mostly a good job defending him. All 5 can get the job done 1-on-1.

Ron Artest is extremely overrated defensively imo...so is Bruce Bowen for that matter. None of them come close to Pippen who is the greatest perimeter defender of all time and Jordan is quite possibly the 2nd greatest perimeter defender of all time and let's remember they were also dropping 30 and 20pts a night, grabbing boards, and dishing out steals and still put it out there every night defensively. (well in the latter years Jordan laxed a little but hey he was no youngster anymore)

Ron Artest and Bruce Bowen aren't overrated defenders. Pippen wasn't even a better defender than Jordan, Jordan defended the other team's best perimeter player in every NBA Finals. He defended Magic, Drexler, Majerle, Hawkins, and Hornacek twice. Pippen wasn't as aggressive as he should have been when it came to scoring but he was a great player. When Jordan was sick during game 5 of the '97 Finals, Pippen should have stepped up but Jordan had to score 38 points for the Bulls to win.
