it's in A-Major technically. During Mozart's time, the instruments were tuned to about a-435 or so, as opposed to the a-440 we are accustomed to today. It's somewhere around a quarter of a step lower than the A we use. However, there's something magical about the authentic effect from pieces from this era that are played on period instruments.

No, it seems this is in A-flat...

Maybe since this is played by "period instruments," they are tuned differently. I agree, this sounds a semitone lower!

@ThatRachGirl yes, those who use instruments "authentic" to this period also tend to incorporate the tuning system of the time, which sounds flatter than our ears are accustomed to hearing. "Authentic" Baroque pieces sound even flatter than Classical ones, almost a full semi-tone lower.
