@ElenaXVI I believe the Magic Lantern is a sort of projector that casts silhouette shadows on a wall -- or whatever. Anyway, story goes, Ingmar Bergman's brother received one as a Christmas gift. And Ingmar, fascinated by the Magic Lantern, traded all of his tin soldier collection for it.
I always think of that story (which I may have butchered) when I watch the intro to Fanny and Alexander.
