did you have to retune the car after the exhaust and the intake or did u just run a map off of your accessport? i have the nameless and accessport, and looking to get a CAI next.
Jason is a great guy, I have the same Axle back on a 2011 SWP. STI. I can't wait to get the mid-pipe and DP when I get home. Sounds amazing and just a great bunch of guys to work with!!!
@mitch9018 Thanks! Yeah it's the stock bypass valve. I was surprised how much louder it was than the stock BPV on the MazdaSpeed3 after putting the intake on that. I wish there was a way to tune it so it only went off under heavy throttle.
words cannot express how perfect your vids are. I especially love em cause our cars are twins, except I just got mine so I'm behind on the mods. SWP ftw.
Nice video. Inspired me to go ahead and put this exhaust on my car myself last night... Took me 45 minutes... Keep the videos coming! Yours are the best by far online. Better than Subaru's promotional videos.
Sounds really good, I have a 2011 STI SWP sedan as well and I have been searching for an exhaust. I was almost convinced of getting the Q300 until I heard your vid...now I will definitely go Nameless CBE. Are you just running a stage 2 or what all mods do you have done?? I have stage 2 setup in mine for now.
@fstornge04 I'm just Stage 1 + Cobb SF Intake. This exhaust is just an axleback, although I plan on buying the Nameless downpipe when they release it! SWP is best!!
@katanamast279 Yup! Sound and light. Those are two totally different cars so make sure you drive both of them. The Z is more of a sports car obviously. For me it was a no-brainer because I need 4seat 4door since I have a baby. Also I wanted something that was great in all seasons since we get bad winters and rain storms around the DC Metro area. Good luck with your choice!
@Aetherfury Hey man I meant to ask you. How is the ride quality of the new STI? I test drove the new WRX this past weekend and it was good. The guy from the dealership said the STI's ride was harsh. I know how some people exaggerate though. Plus for a well equipped WRX cost about the same as the STI.
"harsh" is over-exaggerating., pretty comfy actually for a sporty suspension. my STI has 600 miles. I test drove one with 7k miles and it felt even more comfy. so it's a bit stiff but will soften over time.
Request: Could you find a way to use the track Mindheist from the Inception trailer in one of your next mod videos? With your editing and shooting skills I can only imagine what would happen lol.
Nice man, I see you have VA tags. Where in VA are you? I'm just west of Fairfax. I am ordering the Nameless Performance turboback for my 2011 Optima SX turbo. They seem to do quality work!
I know you have an intake, but are you still using the stock BOV? Stock routing? It's so much louder than mine ('08 STI), I assume because of the intake?
@luckEseven Yup! Stock bypass valve running just like normal. It really does make a huge sound difference for the intake, I couldn't believe it. Maybe it's because I'm a kid at heart, but I really like all the noise. It's not like the STi is a sleeper anyway haha
@mikent256 Yeah it's basically just two sections of pipe that replace the two stock mufflers. I like the setup because I can save up and add the Nameless mid-pipe later on to get a full cat-back exhaust for about the same price as the Invidia Q300 ($300 for axleback, $500 for midpipe)
loving the car, the accessport def. made the biggest difference, but I really missed the turbo sound from my Speed3 so the intake was more for fun. It does seem to pull harder, but maybe it's just my imagination!
@Aetherfury So, since it's just straight pipes, are they nasty loud inside? Or do-able? I'm wondering if bolt-on intake and stuff are just a SOTP feeling. I'm thinking I may need to invest into an AP myself one day. The tune probably makes all the difference in the world over the bolt-ons.
@mikent256 Surprisingly it's not that loud inside. My wife likes it better than the stock exhaust, because the sedan stock exhaust has that droning bass note at low rpms. The Accessport is a great investment and had the biggest improvement
Awesome car and video. How do you like the sti when comparef to your MS3's? I own a 2008 MS3, but I really like the new sti. Would you say a trade in is worth it?
@Eduardo1133 I love it. There are things I miss about my Speed3 for sure, mostly the stereo since the STI/WRX one is terrible and the Speed3 is a highway monster. I think it's worth the trade if you can get a good price on the Subaru. I was able to drive on 5-6 inches of new unplowed, untreated roads last winter in an emergency even with the summer tires so for me it's a lot more practical.
@ganque Well it's my one year old daughter's toy hair dryer so yeah, it's pretty girly ;) She kept throwing it at me, so I finally figure she wanted it to be featured haha
Awesome work. What kind of camera do you shoot with? I was one of the early adopters for the Nameless Performance axleback, I'm glad you like yours :D I've had mine on almost half a year and still love it :)
Would you say the accessport on a stock tune makes a substantial difference?

Im pretty sure thats the stock BPV. He mustve changed the intake to get that woosh sound. Putting a BOV on a Subie is a no-no, lol.

Is that shift indicator stock on your car? Like the sound that comes on and tells you when to shift.
Thakns
katanamast279 7 months ago
@katanamast279 Yeah the STI has a built in shift light that you can set for whatever RPM. I have mine set for 6000 since my reflexes are so slow haha

@Aetherfury Does it come with the indicator sound along with the shift light? I'm trying to decide whether to get this or a 370Z
