Mine does it on and off of the charger and I've never used any charger other than the one that came with it. Now it's even worse because my daughter dropped it and the screen is cracked. Now I'm waiting for my HTC EVO to come in the mail....

I had the same issue before with a charger I got from Walmart for the blackberry storm screen went psycho on me wouldn't respond or anything but fixed it as soon as I took off the charger

Not so sure about the incorrect voltages causing this and a battery pull correcting it. That doesn't add up. A volt or two shouldn't affect the phone but I know for a fact that moisture will do this. Moisture will short hardware inside the phone and your touchscreen will go crazy and buttons will do things they aren't supposed to.

@halofan1227 bullshit on everything. take an HTC Desire. $449.99 outright, $29.99 on a 3 yr with telus. iPhone 4, $159-3yr 16GB, $269-3yr 32GB and $649/749 respectively. RIM Torch $599 or $199-3yr. plus, the HTC Desire is running a 1GHz processor and is much more customizable and simpler to use than a BB. althoug, I do miss BBM.

Make sure you're using an official charger. In other news, I now have a Droid and love it. Good riddance crappy RIM OS! The Droid boots in under a minute.

I work at a verizon that phone is a love hate relation ship lol. I love mine My boss loves hers. We had one in that u click to make a call it would go on the net u click the net it would send a text u hit end a call it would make a call lol . With that i dont know what was up with it and your right there is no ddbl click mode i waited like 6 months to get mine though so they had all the bugs worked out well mostly

omg thanks i thought my blackberry was messed up and my phone was charging on my new charger and i was trying to text and it wouldnt click right... but when i unplugged it, it worked just fine...thanks for the help

mine has no problems i actually love mind. At first it was cool then it had your BB problems and now its fast and nice and i luv it it annoys me every month or so but i love mine now!

It turns out that the Motorola-branded MiniUSB to MicroUSB converter I bought for the Storm combined with a no-name 3rd party charger was the issue. I used this same charger on my 8830 and my wife's 8130, but apparently the Storm doesn't like it combined with the Mini to Micro converter. Moments after plugging my Storm into this charger/cable combination, my touch screen dies.

The Storm dock and BlackBerry travel charger I use upstairs in the bedroom is fine.

Got the replacement and it has the much darker (half as bright) and blue-green tinted screen. It also crashed (white screen of death) at least 4 times on the same day I activated it. Since the culprit was the charging cable, my original is fine... so now I have two!

I thought they charged you again if you didn't return the defective unit? Hmmm... anyway, someone that did the same thing posted a link to this vid in a forum thread on crackberry so your vid has helped out several ppl! As for the 2nd unit, many of them "go white" 1st couple of days. There is a fix to that on crackberry . com, too! Find it, fix it, then SELL IT TO ME!! lol... take care!

UPDATE: An all-night battery-pull seems to have corrected this. Wow... I thought 5-10 minutes without a battery was enough but this confirms that 30+ minutes is key.

It's already on 4.7.0.75... This issue just cropped up out of nowhere which makes me think it's hardware. Especially after all the battery pulls and rebooting. It was never dropped or otherwise damaged though.

Off to the Verizon store this morning to get a replacement.

Yeah, you're probably right. I love my Storm and am not one of those who will bad mouth it. This was really only uploaded so I can show my friend who is a state away.

Time to call and get my replacement... I can't live without this thing!
