Wow, what's up with all the negative comments? I use Reaktor, but I like watching how other people create their instruments/styles. Apparently all these haters are experts and have gold records on the wall. They must be bored from producing so many hit albums that they need to troll YouTube. Grow up, people!
@ maltcus, good luck to you, and keep making music/sounds.
@damondarkwalker Thanks for your words. I admit I used to get upset when some1 says something negative but, I know that even if some1 likes what u r doing. They come on utube just to say negative stuff. They have no life so utube gives them the ability to say stuff even if its stupid. If I see a video I don't like I just dont comment. I guess because I do have a life.
@damondarkwalker no shit, I sample my sounds from every where . I sampled clanging bottles and layered them on top of a Concert mate, to make a nice xylophone sound. mixing digital and live analog gives music a more "earthy" anchor to digital perfect tones .
Sky is the limit -is all I am trying to say.

sorry if its a dumb question but i feel like i looked everywhere. what window are you in at 1:15 and what do i need to click to get there? love the videos by the way all really helpful.
@salavasofa at 1:15 I am afraid you will not find anything exactly like it cause I created it. Its just the interface of the synth. If you load any synth or effect in reaktor That should be the first thing u see is the instrument before you start digging in.
@maltcus well in particular i was asking about the keyboard that lets you assign tones to create an instrument. you said that you get keyboards off youtube and load them into the window. i just cant seem to find the window. do i need to make it on my own or is there a way to find it? thanks for the reply btw :)
@salavasofa okay I was talking about going on youtube and record snippets of people playing analog keyboads. Since I haev the E-mu 0404 soundcard I can do this very easy. I don't have to wire my out into the input or nothing. You can also search for wavetable in google. There are hundreds maybe thousands of wavetable already edit to be used.
@jennnn000 This can be used in stand alone with a midi keyboard. You can also use this as a plug in VST or DXI. Reaktor is not like garage band, FL, sonar, cube protools in the way of being a DAW. Hey man I was thinking about getting Reaktor 5 but I have a basic question I cant seem to find the answer to. Can I move whatever synth/effect I make on reaktor 5 directly into my Logic Pro 9 session? If so, how, or could you give me a link to a site that would help me out with this? Good vid btw.
u can use reakter as a snyth or effect but not the synth outside of reakter. Doesn't really mater cause u use reakter just as u would use any other vst
I had build a symple CPU with ROM/RAM, Oscillator, Jump-Commands, s.o. That was funny to see the first "programms" running on it (at 2Mrd Instructions per second) :)

Hey man, most of the time when I talk with other producers about a "Benny Bennasi sound" it's about his bass (though dominant) synth being sidechained with the kicks. Hi total noob but i have been doing something something like that in fl8 studio grabbing sounds from vids off the net using a program called tube hunter and converting to mp3 and sample the sound i want, just means i can have almost any sound i can think of.

Hi - I always thought this would be too complicated for me - BUT: Yesterday I really built a 4 OSC Synth with each one having it's own LFO modulating dedicated filter sections and a noise with own filter triggered by a ramp fuction - of course it's only a newbee thing up to now - but the sound was really impressing.
My interest would be to simulate an Oberheim XPANDER respectively Matrix 12 with REAKTOR 5 - but that would take probably half a year I suppose....
i understand what you are saying. When people say rappers putting down woman and speak of killin people. I say the same people they talking bout is the same people buying it. If people don't want it don't buy and they will change the music. I grew up on the ol skool rap so i know what you are saying. DOing IDM is a different change. I know rappers who feel the house and Trance i do would be too easy. THeres way more effect processing in electronica music then hip hop..
Now i do trance/house stuff too. One thing i have notice is a lot of electronica producers try to down hip hop music and say it not good or no skills involved. I think techno and hip hop require skills in its own right. I use reaktor for hip hop, R&B, techno. I use reaktor to give my beats my own sound. Not just mangling beats. You can make your own synth and use that synth for hip hop. Whats wrong with that? I know ya'll youtubers be trying to down people videos but,u no fucking wit me. :)
try building a song with nothing but raw notes...no sampling and no beats. there's millions of guys using multitrack programs but hardly any creating just melody, harmony, chords, arpeggios from scratch. expand your skill set.
lol boy you have no idea. What I do with reaktor you would be lost. The type of sampling I am doing in this video require you to play melody, harmony etc... I am only sampling waveforms not phrases. I know not everybody gets this video but, trust me you still have to play. Thanks for the comment. :)
thanks man. cool vid. but just one question..aren't you concerned about the audio compression quality from the sounds you sample off of youtube? or does it really make a difference when you try out a vintage synth patch, and compare it with the youtube wave samples?
well i normally only sample very small snippets. and some audio on some of these video is not that bad cause they record audio thru a cable and not the video cam mic. so to answer your question. no i am not concern. plus im a genius. i can make it sound good :)
not sure why. i don't use macs. i never had a problem. If its a crack version then that may b the problem if not . I would have native instruments on the phone ASAP!
this is really awesome. I'm more into the industrial type of music (NIN) but this is all related in the end. I really want to learn how to do this kinda stuff, I'm about to buy Reaktor 5 soon. Know of any good tutorials on the basics of the program itself? Like, from scratch, I'm totally new at this. Thanks man and keep doin what you do, it's kick ass.
some1 tell me a good website where i can record my voice and listen to it (without a mic) plz. i use to know dis website but i forgot it. you can make your own song and people can listen to it online and stuff.
record you voice without a mic?? thats like saying watching a dvd with a dvd. You need a mic of some kind. I dont care whatu use as a mic u need a mic. now if u are talking bout type in words and the computer voice speak. yea theres a great one that is free called shit talker
yo i got a similar program called Dj virtual.. and i know how to load up a song but i want to make my own beat to a song starting from scratch if thats possible.. :P
at first i never looked at virtual dj. i just did i must say its nothing like Reaktor however i am working on a djing setup in Reaktor. yes it can do that. what i am working on is a different beast the virtual dj but, you can dj your songs and beats. look out for it. subscribe to my videos and i will keep you updated
dude, i love your vids. I've always wanted to get into reaktor but always thought it was too complicated. You have inspired me. Only one question, when using the sampler. how do you make it trigger the loop straight away rather than playin the start of the sample first. I think its whatever you have connected to 3rd input port on the sampler, no? I look forward to your reply. Btw, do you have a myspace where i can check out any tracks you have made?
maltcus, nice vid. Don't worry about these people who've got nothing better to do than pick fault.
You have clearly created your own synthesis device in Reaktor.
For anyone who knows about sampling and synthesis in any detail, they will understand that the sound source for a synthesiser does not have to be an oscilator.
And yes he did use reaktor. BUT THE WHOLE POINT OF REAKTOR IS THAT YOU CAN BUILD YOUR OWN SYNTHS/DEVICES!
GET A LIFE + KNOW YOUR FACTS, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
i made another vid but, its just a simple synth for people that have no idea on how to make a synth in reaktor5 thanks for you comment. there are few of us who really know about synths. glad u do.
Yo good tutorial at least you gave it a show in trying to explain a very complex program... Not even Native Instruments has a decent tutorial for this program. Good shit!
Hey man, screw these haters. At least the man took h is time to explain something on Reaktor and he knows what he's talking about just by pointing out whats the LFO, OSC, etc. Pay respect to the man for taking his time to teach us something. Seriouslly, the game is to be sold not to be told and he just shared. Hey thanks a lot man. I understand a hell of a lot more about Reaktor than I did before this. You do whatcha do man. Much luv from Miami! Musician to Musician! Peace!
i understand what you are trying to say but, when you take a program from nothing to a synth. what else can you call it. I didn't just move a few knobs and made a sound. This is just to give someone who don't know much about reaktor a little idea what it can do. Reaktor can do so much more then what I have showed here i know. So I didn't make a synth. Not just a sound or a patch.
well then all those keyboard and software synth that have all those different waveform are loopers too then cause that how they get all those wave forms. they still call them synths. So korg don't know what they talking about when they call the microkorg a synth. I think people on youtube spend too much time try to make people out to be wrong. I am not going to say I know it all but, when i speak i do know hat i am talking bout.
sorry to be a hard-on man, but that music in the background seems too loud. Mabie it's just me, but I can barely hear what your saying. Thanks for the tutorial though :)
I think this an example of underuse of the pwoer of Reaktor. Reaktor can do so much more than simple wave playback. Almost any audio program can play back sound and loop bewteen two loop points.
But hopefully you'll plungie deeper into Reaktor and learn more of the power it hides.
vintagedeath78: That's totally dependent on your background. To me FL and to a degreee cubase gives me a headache, while Renoise makes prefect sense.
Now I do agree this wasn't a in deeped tutorial. I wanted to put something together that show a little about what reaktor can do. Some people have like what I have done and I understand I can not please everyone peace.
The background music was a little annoying, couldn't hear what you were saying/playing. Also if you can find a way to film ur screen without the use of a video camera, ie a direct out to a video card or summat it'd make things a lot clearer.
A good inroduction to R5, but not really telling us how you did it. More barebones next time please.
This could have been great but it seems to outline more how a sampling synth works rather than how to make a synth in R5. Maybe outlining the core level components required to make a basic synth and how to go about using your own imagination and creativity to build further on that yourself would be more useful. Kudos for doing the vid though, I'd do one myself but im new to R5 and havn't used too much modular synthesis for a couple of years, so maybe I will do one when I've got R5 nailed. Peace.
Thanks for the comment. I haven't mastered using built-in modules to build macros so I haven't tapped into the core cell yet. That is a goal. I am working on my first commercial synth. I hope to have it on my mysoace by April.
I've been playing around with Reaktor 5 for only about 2-3 weeks and have already made some really cool sounds with it. That sampler module you use, what's really cool is when you hook up controls to the LS and LL, and you can control real-time what is looped in your sample. Great for drum beats too!
it would be kinda nice without the background music... just being a little honest

maltcus 3 years ago
yo i got a similar program called Dj virtual.. and i know how to load up a song but i want to make my own beat to a song starting from scratch if thats possible.. :P
admiralsnipe 3 years ago
at first i never looked at virtual dj. i just did i must say its nothing like Reaktor however i am working on a djing setup in Reaktor. yes it can do that. what i am working on is a different beast the virtual dj but, you can dj your songs and beats. look out for it. subscribe to my videos and i will keep you updated
maltcus 3 years ago
aaight n yo reaktor is like 500 bucks bro -.-
admiralsnipe 3 years ago
Cool stuff man, I've got Komplete 4 and always wanted to tackle this monster.
therealside 3 years ago
dude, i love your vids. Btw, do you have a myspace where i can check out any tracks you have made?
ravaliya 3 years ago
well i am working on a video that will answer your question so look out for it

Cool tutorial but the background music is too distracting.
rofea 3 years ago
yea i have heard that b4. my other tutorials has no music.
maltcus 3 years ago
This is nice, thanx but could you make a more elaborated tutorial about sampling in Reaktor? That would be cool!
2DaChoppa 3 years ago
not a bad idea. Ill hit u up when i do it.
maltcus 3 years ago
aight man, thanx

maltcus, nice vid.
GET A LIFE + KNOW YOUR FACTS, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
curzen 3 years ago
i made another vid but, its just a simple synth for people that have no idea on how to make a synth in reaktor5 thanks for you comment. there are few of us who really know about synths. glad u do.
maltcus 3 years ago
Yo good tutorial at least you gave it a show in trying to explain a very complex program... Not even Native Instruments has a decent tutorial for this program. Good shit!
DJDLyfe 3 years ago
glad you liked. i just uploaded a new video 2 days ago. check that out
maltcus 3 years ago
Hey man, screw these haters. At least the man took h is time to explain something on Reaktor and he knows what he's talking about just by pointing out whats the LFO, OSC, etc. Pay respect to the man for taking his time to teach us something. Seriouslly, the game is to be sold not to be told and he just shared. Hey thanks a lot man. I understand a hell of a lot more about Reaktor than I did before this. You do whatcha do man. Much luv from Miami! Musician to Musician! Peace!

wtf thought you were gonna show us how to make a sytnh with reaktor
sirpryde 4 years ago 5
i understand what you are trying to say but, when you take a program from nothing to a synth. what else can you call it. I didn't just move a few knobs and made a sound. This is just to give someone who don't know much about reaktor a little idea what it can do. Reaktor can do so much more then what I have showed here i know. So I didn't make a synth. Not just a sound or a patch.
maltcus 4 years ago
You're asking what else to call it. I'd call it a sample or a looper. At a stretch you could call it a granular (re)synthesizer.
Gameboygenius 3 years ago
well then all those keyboard and software synth that have all those different waveform are loopers too then cause that how they get all those wave forms. they still call them synths. So korg don't know what they talking about when they call the microkorg a synth. I think people on youtube spend too much time try to make people out to be wrong. I am not going to say I know it all but, when i speak i do know hat i am talking bout.
maltcus 3 years ago
I still think you're technically wrong, but it's just a matter of different words, so it's not that important.
Gameboygenius 3 years ago
Okay, I can hear fine, I don't know why the hell so many are complaining. Good job, I'm looking into getting this.
acevampire 4 years ago
Good to see a tutorial on this - The background music is a bit distracting - turn it off ;)
MatthewPatch 4 years ago
sorry to be a hard-on man, but that music in the background seems too loud. Mabie it's just me, but I can barely hear what your saying. Thanks for the tutorial though :)

Yo! :D
You can download it at camstudio . org Its 100% free.
Btw cool video!!
feki00 4 years ago
Maltcus, please do show us more about reaktor. And also, use Camstudio to record your screen and you dont have to use your video camera. peace
Kulagi 4 years ago
where can i get cam studio and how much is it??
maltcus 4 years ago
If you use Windows you can use WMENCODER, for free. Microsoft product.
AcePincter 4 years ago
renoise isn't that difficult
WARDISWARD 4 years ago
After you create an instrument(synth) can you use it as a standalone vst to give(sell) to others to use in programs like cubase or FL???
jtc1987 4 years ago
no u must have reaktor to use what u make. if they was to make it like that( i hope they do) oooo man i would recreate ever hardware out there.
maltcus 4 years ago
no u have to have reaktor. u can use reaktor in cubase and other mutlitrackers. but not just the instruments them selves
maltcus 4 years ago
hey man, reaktor 5 is one of the hardest programs to learn aside from renoise. you know yer shit. props.
vintagedeath78 4 years ago
I think this an example of underuse of the pwoer of Reaktor. Reaktor can do so much more than simple wave playback. Almost any audio program can play back sound and loop bewteen two loop points.
But hopefully you'll plungie deeper into Reaktor and learn more of the power it hides.
vintagedeath78: That's totally dependent on your background. To me FL and to a degreee cubase gives me a headache, while Renoise makes prefect sense.
Gameboygenius 4 years ago
Now I do agree this wasn't a in deeped tutorial. I wanted to put something together that show a little about what reaktor can do. Some people have like what I have done and I understand I can not please everyone peace.
maltcus 4 years ago
The background music was a little annoying, couldn't hear what you were saying/playing. Also if you can find a way to film ur screen without the use of a video camera, ie a direct out to a video card or summat it'd make things a lot clearer.
A good inroduction to R5, but not really telling us how you did it. More barebones next time please.
Keep up the good work.
Aliweasel 4 years ago
thanks for this
stuzique 4 years ago
This could have been great but it seems to outline more how a sampling synth works rather than how to make a synth in R5. Maybe outlining the core level components required to make a basic synth and how to go about using your own imagination and creativity to build further on that yourself would be more useful. Kudos for doing the vid though, I'd do one myself but im new to R5 and havn't used too much modular synthesis for a couple of years, so maybe I will do one when I've got R5 nailed. Peace.
fleabane 4 years ago
Thanks for the comment. I haven't mastered using built-in modules to build macros so I haven't tapped into the core cell yet. That is a goal. I am working on my first commercial synth. I hope to have it on my mysoace by April.
maltcus 4 years ago
hey
BuSTaBoY 4 years ago
I've been playing around with Reaktor 5 for only about 2-3 weeks and have already made some really cool sounds with it. That sampler module you use, what's really cool is when you hook up controls to the LS and LL, and you can control real-time what is looped in your sample. Great for drum beats too!
zshenkle 5 years ago
yea I am using tha idea on he synth that I am working on now. I will also have a LFO connected to LS and LL. That create some crazy sound too.
