The Black Stone ( initially said to be white stone before a fire in the Kaaba that burned the whole place down, then rebuilt during Korish & before the prophet Muhammad PBUH receiving the massage) sits in the south east corner of the Kaaba, the stone initially believed date back to the time of our fore father and mother Adam and Eve. The last person to place it in that spot/corner was prophet Muhammad PBUH.
after so many accidents it broke so many times that only eight small pieces (the size of small dates) were left. So it was decided to place those small stones in a resin /solid gum like substance about 30 cm and encased the whole thing in a cast silver frame to prevent any further damage.
Yes, its always a wounder everything in the Kaba. But the stone came down from the havens when I think Abarhim IDK but one of the prophets watched it come down along with all the Maccans. IDK if my information is right but i think this is what it is :)
fr your info. after the prophet some people stole the black stone and ran to Egypt 500 years later the Muslims recoverd it and the kabbah was destroyed many times after prophet Muhammad but the last time they build-ed it they did everything they did to it
