Hi, this is beautiful. I have three children with autism. Two of them are at university, the other is only five so we will see what the future holds. YOU CAN achieve anything you want. Your words are so true- it might take a bit longer but you will get there. Autistic people need more people like you who can put it into words so the world can understand.

Once I was diagnosed with it, I was really confused, thinking that there was no one else in the world quite like me, but I'm slowly realizing that people go through probably the same things I do now and it makes me feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one. It sure helps me feel less alone.

Great song. You say, "girl inside", but I think it is often true of boys with autism too. I too am a folk musician/singer/songwriter; I have Asperger's Syndrome, mild autism. I wrote 4 autism awareness songs.
