My Karate teacher fought me and 4 other girls this form(and is still teaching it to us) and we will be performing it soon at our belt ceremony... It's really fun and relaxing to do, but it wears you out!
I would really like to learn this form. Could you please let me know where you were taught this. I do teach Tai Chi and Qigong and practice other martial arts so I have a little grounding in the genre. Sandra
my school used i go to uses this music but the moves are differrent
i remembered we did the fan thing in compitition and we won first place for recreation i was awesome!!!!!!!! its really fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is so awsome this is the best form for fans Ive seen. Im intrested in learning these movements. Where can I find the steps and the music so I can learn them.
Can anyone tell where I can get the music and a DVD of how to learn this form. Have won gold with Dragon Phoenix Fan and would love to learn this also
This form is currently being taught by Vanessa Wu at the E - W Chinese School of Medicine in Sarasota, Fl. It is my understanding according to her, this was performed by some 2,000? persons at the 2000 opening of olympic Ceremonys in Beijing in the year 2,000. Same music, same fans...very very vigorous form...the form moves are timed to the music...if any of this info is wrong it shows that I need to pay more attention...Blessings of Love and Light, richard
hmmm, maybe it was a ceremony in Beijing as the games opended in Australia...dont know....I was trying to keep up to learn the form...never worked with fan...hope I never have to again...thank you for paying attnetion, I will try harder...Love and Light, richard
did u know that the japanese would put razors on the edjes of these? THAT would hurt! i use the bo staff, but i want to learn how to use these. please tell me where to find more vids that specialize in this stuff!!!!!!
Wow! It's great! Can anyone let me know, where can I get the action demo step by step for this Kung Fu Fan. This should be a great execrise for all ladies!
It is called "Beautiful Sunset Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan" there is a VCD you can order from a chinese website but it is only in chinese. You can do a search for the ISBN in google: isbn 7-88306-411-8. If you find a way to order it please let me know too.
Really if you want to get technical fan art is not a martial art at all it is implemented as a prop or weapon, and is generally refered to as Sensu (folding fan) or Tessen (Iron fan) or Tessen fighting fan, and is refered to as either single or double, referring to wether you are using one or two fans. This would be an example of Tai Chi performed with a single Sensu (folding fan).
im learning this with 5 other girl for our belt ceremony an it looks real good wish us luck

I'm learning Taiji from RC in Punggol. My teacher got it for us. Think she bought it from Chinatown.
There are many community centres in Singapore that conduct Taiji class, in Hougang, Seng Kang, Yishun....

You do need to pay attention. The 2000 Olympics were in Sydney Australia not Beijing. That 2008!
Lots of love and light
