  • omg #1 is sick!

  • bill russell<3

  • Bill Russell is one of my favorite legends. I love blocks and I don't think anyone did em better than him.

  • 2:18 Have you ever see a centre run like that today??!?!

  • who blocked the shot on #3? that shit was way nastier than mcgee's block steal

  • @JK420Y lephonso ellis (not sure about spelling)

  • you aint got nothin on manute

  • holy shit who did the announcer say the last guy was?

  • @LolsitzGeorge manute bol

  • Manute Bol

He is one of the greatest player in NBA history.

  • mj jumped before ewing even thought about shooting

  • no. 1, imagine your teammate grade in 2k

  • @ohtee96 y isn't this the top comment now??? so funny. i had 16 in one game, i was 1-7 shooting. still had an A+ at the end.

  • lol at 3:45

  • MJ and Manute say get that out of here!!!!

  • who is the the player of the number 3 at 3:53 ?

  • @LeKiom that was LaPhonso Ellis

  • @paanoba oh ok thanks :)

  • at 4:38 the number 3 "yeah come on my friend ! block again and again and again !"

  • 0:50 salt and pepper pass never gets old

  • Comment removed

  • whos the 1# guy?

  • @ThatKraziBoi That would be the late Manute Bol, the tallest NBA player ever.

  • @ThatKraziBoi manute bol

  • 2:51 goaltending?

  • @GrayLeader2184 both blocks happened before the ball reached its apex as in - on the way up.

  • Im like this just for the block and fast break at :46

  • @urfeulfib That'd be ridiculous he was already like 7'5" I think. He could really just guard anyone lol

  • imagine manute bol with 50 inch vertical...

  • Hakeem moves astoundingly fast for a center. Look at 2:16 how the guard has a massive lead on him and is already running when Hakeem was at center court caught by surprise. Yet he still managed to block it.

    Amazing.

  • Bol Rządził pod tablicami :)

  • it's missing lebrons chasedown

  • R.I.P. Manute Bol-basketball player, shot blocker and humanitarian

  • Me @ #10: "heeeeeeeey that's not a block, that's a ste.......OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH"

  • #3 u kidding me!!

  • 3 was freakin ' awesome !

  • MJ over there sayin NAH

  • Chamberlain back to back blocks of the "unstoppable" skyhook. It was stoppable all right, that's from the WCF and Wilt blocked Jabbar FIVE TIMES that game

  • 3:46 Now that is a block ! :D

  • 3:16 russell 1st ever chasedown block

  • Russell goat of defense

  • 3:41 omg michael jordan destroyed ewing haha get outta here!

  • Oh my god LaPhonso Ellis! Blocked/Caught the ball with attitude!

  • #3 Shoudda Been #1

  • nba refs are bunch of little bitches. If you touch a superstar its a foul, cuz in the nba there is NO way kobe can miss a layup unles he got fouled, but anyone else gets hammered and its no call.

  • @arickwon YES! sooo true

  • too bad all those blocks would be called fouls nowadays.

  • @arickwon Real talk My Nigga... The one handed floater is the reason why blocks went down inthe nba. You cant time them shits and after release your gonna hit somebody's hand smh!!

  • @arickwon lol not all but mybe some ...

  • @arickwon How? These are clean blocks

  • holy shit hakeem was fast in his prime !

  • damn I love watching blocks like this :D can't really put blocks infront of dunks, mostly because I saw like every possible VC dunk and that's like...poetry...but ye blocks are definetely a close 2nd for me...blocking can be so nasty sometimes, and the players probably get more hyped up if there's a monster block compared to a monster dunk...then again I might be wrong, but that's just my perspective...

  • #3 should be #1

i wonder if that counts as a steal?

  • Lol Kareem got blocked

  • You are BLOCK!!!

  • RIP MANUTE BOL ... The Block show!!!!!!

  • wow that is motherfuckin awesome mr. Bol.. RIP

  • manute is the 1. RIP MANUTE BOL

  • yeah blocks are better

  • Beautiful game

  • defence is your offence

  • blocks are my favourite part of Hoops. beautiful stuff.

  • 2:09 is that not a tech

  • @CBubbz12

    Not back then.

  • #1 R.I.P. Manute Bol

  • blocks r my fav part of basketball i mean did u see dat he caught the ball wit one hand in dat block

  • Blocks would give you more respect than dunks... Blocking a player attempting to dunks makes the blocked player feel: "HELL NO!" or "OH SHIT!"

  • MJ said, "You're my bitch Ewing!"

  • RIP mr Bol

  • Lacers?

  • lets go celtics & lacers & magic & cavilers

  • 3:39...Jordan was sick of Patrick Ewing...thats what that block is telling me...

  • Jeez, Hakeem might've been the best defensive center with the exception of Russell.

  • I swear I've seen the Russell block against West in color somewhere. Does anyone know where to find it in color?

  • GET HIS NAME RIGHT IF YOU ARE GONNA SAY IT.

    IT'S LaPhonso Ellis not Alphonso...

  • Manute Bol!!!!!!!!!

  • number 3

  • CHARLES BARKLEY IS A BEAST

  • #1, the guy looks like a big monster.

  • Actually, that's Manute Bol, the tallest NBA player. He stood 7'7 and famous for playing with Muggsy Bogues, the shortest player in NBA who stands 5'5, in Washington Bullets.

  • so many goal tendings hahahah

  • i think #3 is the best

  • blocks are better than dunks

  • @dllckc blocks are by far so much better than dunks

  • @dllckc u know whats better than that, A guy blocked a dunk and dunked on him XD

  • @dllckc I totally agree that blocks are better than dunks. There is nothing more emotionally shunting for the other team or enlivening for yours than a huge block, especially those that give your team the ball back instead of one going out in the stands or to another player on the opposing team, unless of course you block that one too ;-)

  • @dllckc 100%

  • @dllckc chillll

  • @dllckc harder too.

  • 3 was beast.

  • i love this game

  • @proferthofh me too brother

  • 2:12

  • I miss Deke, he has a lot of blocks in a row... more than once!

  • First, "Hakeem give, and well, Hakeem taketh away" is awesome. Second, the Celtics fast break starting at :46 should have made it somewhere on the 100 Greatest Plays- Teamwork video.

  • man russell had blocking down to a science what a beast most people are stupid and just slap it into the 3rd row, lotta good that does its still their ball you gotta block it and get it

  • Good point, I often make that point on Lebron block video. He's very athletic but often just swaps the ball out of bounds, a waste when he has a chance to control it or at least keep it in play so his team can get it.

  • they best block in NBA history is tayshaun prince block on reggie miller....

  • bol was sissy slapping those shots left, right and centre

  • Get big Wilt!

  • 3 is my favorite

  • I love #3...........

  • #4 was bad ass

  • looool #4 is just the absolute best.

  • is this was redone to ad 2009 plays. lebron would be in here so many times

  • No, he wouldn't. Hakeem. Zo. Wilt. Robinson. Russ. Bol. LeBron? No.

  • no. not at all. lebron had some nice blocks, but nothing to make top 10 all time. alot of these occured at big moments, not just on some random fast break

  • No1 has damn long hands @_@

  • OMG!!!!!! WOW :48 seconds...PERFECT 2 on 1 fast break!!!!

  • I LOVE 4 AND 3 PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alfonso Ellis at #3 was possibly the greatest thing I've ever seen....basketball or otherwise!!!

  • This is a jordan cocksuck fest....all of these nba 100 videos i mean

  • @ajones68 hahaha i know i've seen almost all of em and hes on every one. it does get pretty boring seeing him again....but....u gotta admit he deserves to be on almost everyone of them too. one of the many reasons why he is the greatest is because he's made at least one of the greatest plays in basically EVERY aspect of the game! so is it a jordan cocksuck fest? yes. can u blame em? no

  • nothing is unblockable for bill russell XD

    he is the lord

  • Hes from Sudan

  • manute bol, jejejejejej where is he from? zaire???

  • although I like the blocks of today - I feel back then blocking was moer used as a way to transition the ball not to make a spectacle. Like Bill russel blocked the ball so he could gain posession of it and continue the play.

  • 4 blocks = lolololol

  • 3:55 was amazing.

But I guess if you're talking about significance, the block with the Bulls Game was the best hands down.

  • Kareem's 'unstoppable' sky hook blocked at 2:51? O.O...

  • Yeah. I think Olajuwon and Chamberlain were the only two to block it.

  • Kareem's Sky Hook shot is the strongest offensive weapon in NBA. It's very rare to block this shot. Only tall guys like Malone and Chamberlain can block it sometimes.

  • chaberlaine had a great hook aswell i believe?

  • 4 blocks omfg lol

  • I dunno about you guys....#8....Wilt blocking not one but TWO SKY HOOKS. Wilt is the only player to ever block a Kareem Sky Hook. Simply remarkable.

  • Yeah thats true :)

  • That's not true at all. Hakeem blocked Kareem's hook a few times... there might be a few others undocumented.

  • 3:38 jordan was the best

  • OMG no. 3 was just mean...dam...no. 1 was just a statement...really sick blocks

  • 3 > 2+1

just taking it away... with one hand!

  • i dunno...that laphonso ellis block was sick...but the horace grant block of a kevin johnson buzzer-beater won the bulls a title. situation matters.

  • #4 should be 1 and #5 should be 2

  • number 3 should be 1

  • #4 is the freakin best block in my opinion

  • who is number 3?

  • o wow jordan

  • Aw man, no Mark Eaton? :(

  • great hustle by russel

  • wow...NO1 4 block...

  • i watched 3:40 over so much i did once in a game

  • I watched 3:39 over and over

  • MJ= 1+2+1+1+2+1

    8

  • wow mj's block was mean chamberlain and russel are just defensive beasts

  • 8 was legendary. The second block was one of the only times hakeem's skyhook was ever stopped.

  • hakeem's?

    I guess you meant Kareem's...

  • RIP red

  • #2...horace g was the man that game...the play before he'd kicked out to paxson for the go-ahead 3...one of the best games ive ever seen

oh and yeah. #1 on an updated list has to be "The Block"--tayshaun prince on reggie. sorry reg.

  • bill russel...BMAF

  • OMG my jaws dropped when i saw #3

  • that's the exact way i was when i saw it.

  • o shit jordan downright owned ewing there o man

  • number 3 for shure unbevelable!!

  • #6 should be number 1, and #3 should be #2, and #1 should be #3. That's if the list is based off degree of difficulty. When i see a center chase down a guard from the opposite free throw line to get the block is pretty amazing

  • i think 10 should be up there too

  • as far as overall just..nastiness, #4 was insane..

  • lol 4 blocks in a row

  • You can't lay in that soft stuff when there in the lane.

  • #3 should be #1

  • how is tayshaun prince's block on reggie miller in the playoffs not on this list?

  • old

  • 'Couse this list was made before that block :) this is a list made in 97 due to the All-star break if i remember right.

  • it didnt happen before they nade these vids

  • because the vid is pretty old ... :)

  • block* lol

  • does anyone know which game is jordan's block from????...is it a playoff game??

  • The Jordan block came from Game 6 of the 1989 Eastern semifinals, if I remember right. Jordan's Bulls eliminated the favored Knicks 4 games to 2, and advanced to the East Finals versus the powerhouse Detroit Pistons who beat them in six games.

The Bulls were just 47-35 that season and should not even have gone that far. But in the first round, Jordan made that tremendous gamewinner in the final game (THE SHOT) versus the Cavs (who were 57-25 and a title fav), and the rest is history.

  • Was that guy commentating at No.8 homosexual or what?

  • wilt was the only man that could block kareems skyhook. thats some classic footage there

  • that was a goal tend

  • I agree, however, blocking that shot goaltend or no, is quite an accomplishment. I think him and Manute Bol are the only guys to ever black it

  • did manute even play with kareem? anyway, that wasn't goal tending. the ball wasn't going down yet. it was just at its highest point.

  • Yes, he did towards the end of kareems career. Theres footage of it somewhere here.

  • u dumb asses the man is 6'4 look on google and his wiki idots dumbasses

  • damn russell is ruthless

  • 6`4 ft Barkley`s blocks. You gotta be kidding me. His foot movement and blocks in the paint was as if he was a Center!

  • 6'6 idiot not 6'4

  • 1.95 mt = just under 6`5

  • 1.98 not 1.95 idiot, look it up on google... he's 1.98m or 6'6
