For me, Oxycodone makes my condition manageable, but it does not entirely remove the pain. I've been on it for 12 years and have been very careful to avoid dose increases. Before it, I was seriously considering suicide. It must be managed carefully and that's where most people go wrong. It, and most of the drugs in the class, should only be prescribed for serious *chronic* illnesses where everything else has failed.
@jawayetti i have spinal shock syndrome and herniated discs so i know where your coming from! im on 200 mg a day and only just been reffered to pain management lol but my point is how you were feeling is how i am feeling now i cant even get a stiffy on this shit but i just cant leave it alone people read @jawayetti comment and mine and remember what this shit does to you it should only ever be administered in a hospital in my opinion but with my pain i suppose i have to take it :(
@TheDksj1987 Wow, that's a lot. It must really screw with your ability to think clearly. In my experience Oxy is a poor choice for spinal injuries. If your pain is primarialy in one area, I would consider asking about a transdermal patch for something stronger, but more local. I've had friends with spinal injuries and the pain has to be absolutely excruciating. Why you haven't already been to pain management is beyond me.
How did you end up diagnosed with a pinched nerve? Was it in your back? I am scheduled for an MRI for a possible pinched nerve in my spine which may lead to surgery, but I have a history of opiate abuse, and have been clean only about 3 months (cold turkey). @alvisloko94 very addictive because it's derived from thebaine which is derived from raw opium...sorry, im obsessive when it comes to dope information
oxycontin is simply an extended release formulation of the drug oxycodone...kentucy9999, great to post this stuff about the patients in the clinic you work in. it is not anything that is new. not to mention the lightweight issue. really?smack and hydromorphone and oxymorphone are hard hitting when shot, why the rant on all this? are you a "real addict"? and if you state that you are, i weap for you. all these drugs can be rough. what is with all this foolish info being posted on this site?
Oxycodone, Percoset, Hydrocodone, even Demerol......lightweight sh*t. They give you this "blip on the radar screen" for a toothache or a sprained ankle. REAL addicts use heroin or dilaudid or they shoot oxycontin after crushing it up {40's-80's.} When I worked at the rehab we'd always have two groups going in different rooms. There was one group for the "lightweights" and another for REAL men and women. Worst addiction I ever saw was a xanax/alcohol addiction. 3 wks with no sleep.
Oxycodone isn't THAT powerful. Oxycontin is powerful. Dilaudid is powerful. If you haven't taken any oxys and you start by taking 10 mg to 15 mg at a time for a sprained ankle it is pretty powerful I suppose. Most people are given an initial dose of 5 mg of oxy and told to take 1 every 4 to 6 hours {no more than 4 Q 24 hrs for pain.} I think oxycodone is an excellent drug. It is cleaner than hydrocodone or percoset which contain acetominaphen. Grow up and simply don't abuse it.
@kentucy9999 oxycontin IS oxycodone, it's brandname. Anyone that makes a video looking this happy and good about an opiate is in huge trouble, they will soon feel the effects of addiction and be worse off within months, there is no hell like opiate addiction, you can tell someone but when they feel that good they're not going to listen.
@TheMensaGenius I'm a recovered addict/alcoholic and was a Substance Abuse counselor for 15 years. I wrote pamphlets on addiction. Oxycontin is NOT the same as oxycodone. It is a derivative of oxycodone.....I must say that I worked mostly with alcoholics in Maine where I practiced. We began taking opiate addicts on the Unit where I worked and they were so disagreeable, so insincere, so narcissistic and so insufferable that we got together as a group and said "no more" and they were diverted.
@kentucy9999 Oxycontin is the SAME substance, the pills are usually just made to release more oxycodone faster. they are the same chemical composition
@TheHoffmanHouse Tell ya what. Go to any rehab and see how many residents are there because they are crushing up 5 mg oxycodone and shooting it. See how many are crushing up 20-40-60-80 mg oxycontin's and shooting them. Oxycontin is a derivative of oxycodone yes. A station wagon and a hot rod are both cars but they perform differently.
@kentucy9999 BRO oxycontin is not a fucking drug it is a brand name. OXYCODONE is the chemical drug that is in oxycontin that makes you high. U r retarted sorry.
@TheHoffmanHouse It's spelled retarded {not retarted} my friend. You're right oxycodone is the drug, but it is the oxycontin {which is a derivative of oxycodone} that any true blue addict wants. Anyone addicted to those little oxycodone pills is strictly a lightweight. The hard cores shoot oxycontin or heroin or dilaudid..............the rest is just lightweight material.
im so sick of you little fad following, weed worshipping, idiots. You know what makes you feel good in pills like oxy? its derived from opium, it grows in poppies. a flower. you cant get more natural than that.
@snazzycats420 that's sounds just like the opium poppy, a natural god made plant. you can eat the very tasty and nutritious seeds. it has sedative, astringent, expectorant, hypnotic, aphrodisiac, antispasmodic, and analgesic, and many other medicinal qualities. one of it's minor alkaloids, noscapine, even has anticancer properties and is used in treating stroke. and it's also a very pretty flower.
i had oxycodone after my shoulder reconstruction, its fucking awesome. i had a mate looks after me for a couple of days after the surgery and he said it was the funniest shit he'd heard me say for a while... hahaha.
but yes very addictive after i stopped i knew that i wanted more but i eased my self off it for a week before i ran out.
I don't have an addictive personality, but I can understand why some people get addicted to it. It is from the family of Opiates, the same family as Heroin.
I was prescribed Codeine 60mg after a little surgery, Even on Codeine, I was in unmanageable pain. I told my doctor and he prescribed me Dilaudid. I would say, Pain stop when on theses pills, and it also put you in an happy mood.
For people with Addictive personality, I think high dose of Ibuprphen would do...
@TheUnDeRGRouNDHoBo Well to you maybe because it's something unheard of to you, I had to take oxys, percs, and 1 or 2 others for months and guess wut? no addiction. The stupid thing is having a closed mind not in an offensive way.
@Muffinz2go far from a closed mind friend ive had 30 yrs experience using heroin and everything that goes with it sadly , half the problem with opiate problems is realising the symptoms of withdrawal if you dont recognise them you will walk away in a situation such as yours and you may have a sensible dr with fair advice i dont know but to be all cocky and gay about it well good onya and sciatica isa bitch i get it bad from 31 yrs roofing but it aint a 1/18th the pain u can cop using opiates
@TheUnDeRGRouNDHoBo I did go through withdrawal, with the mood swings n goin crazy a little. And heroin is a totally different subject for me. morphine is one of the other ones i took and not didn't get addicted, but yeah i still say it's the person. I'm not addicted. I know people can be addicted to things but its not the drug that makes them addicted, they like the feeling so they take more.
it can physically/psychologically suck u in....that's for sure. motto: keep dosage lowest possible (5mgs) even for legit pain control if u can. never recreationally
Man it is crazy to see people have good things to say about oxycontin that is a first for me! But the problem comes once your tolerance builds up and you end up on 300mg for 12 years than come talk to me about how great it is.
Hilarious video, I can tell you were def feeling on top of the world. I started using it even in small doses when I had lymphoma, maybe around 15mg. Once I got a little older and realized the affect it could have in doses of 30mg and up I started to abuse it. It wasnt long before its claws were deep in my back, the reason it works so well is because it is heroin. Im sure someone told you this already but if not you need to know,
@cletusthefetus4 Thanks. You are correct I was feeling on top of the world. Luckily for me I recognized, very soon after making this video, that I could not handle this stuff and stopped taking it.
Thanks for sharing, I agree with you for the last nine years or so I've had the same problem. In March I decided to try Oxy for the first time my doctor give me a prescription for 30mg taking it twice a day, well I could state that the medication works wonderers for me it has allow me some normalcy in my life.
I've always concern about getting hook on it, but to be honest you have to understand the medication and be honest with yourself in dealing with this medication, I glad that I'm able to
I have a problem about just jumping tp quickly and chastising ppl about this drug because it has stuffed up my life.I sincerely apoligize about the other responses, not realizing that this was an old video.I was right tho when I watched you talking about it.You were loving the feeling, but so glad you came to ur senses about this dangerous drug.Once more,my sincerte apoligies,Pat
@axlfoleyfanatic No problem at all. You have good intentions. You are correct that at the time I made this I was definitely enjoying the feeling. I'm grateful I knew enough to get rid of it.
YOU HAVE AN ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY.I THINK EVERYONE CAN SEE THAT,RIGHT?YOU ARE FLYING AND YOU FEEL INVISIBLE DONT YOU?WAKE UP TO YOURSELF NOW,OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!
just a little fyi....oxycodone works by changing the way that your brain percieves pain signals from the body. however, these changes can also cause euphoria and such which is why it is so addictive. if your going to be taking it for more than a week or so, you better make sure ur dr will either taper you off of it or give it to you for the rest of your life bc withdrawing from opiates is a pure hell
@blinky855 Thanks for the info. I did only take it for the few days I needed it and still ended up going through a slight withdrawal. Thanks for posting this advice though. I just added a link with the follow up video to this.
@gfreakj yea when i posted this i didnt know there was a follow up video lol.....i saw it right after i posted the comment. im battling with it myself. started with the exact same problem you have (sciatica) and now ive been hooked for over a year now and fighting to get off. doesnt even feel good anymore, it takes me at least 30 mgs to not be completely in withdrawal hell. congrats to you for getting off of it...nice job of catching it before it got out of control
@blinky855 Good luck to you. If I can offer any support feel free to write to me. I was already addicted, mentally, to weed and had been an alcoholic so I knew the signs well.
@gfreakj thanks i appreciate it. ive always had an addictive personality....but had never been addicted to a substance before this. for a couple of years i was always able to stop....until one day i just wasnt. thats what makes it so dangerous. you dont know your truly addicted to it until your past the point of no return
@blinky855 Most addicts I know had the same experience. Thought everything was fine until it wasn't. Hopefully someone will read this before they get started down that road.
@gfreakj in a perfect world they would and maybe someone will...but to be honest, i doubt it because if someone is to the point of thinking they might be addicted, then they probably already are. thats the thing about opiates......addiction never even crosses your mind until its too late
yea i was addicted to oxycotin at age 14. fuck that shit, now i jus use it rarely, like when im actually in bad pain and i cant get ahold of good dank
after taking about 4 three days in a row, i felt a significant sense of withdrawal when i did not take any the fourth...he's right, this drug should really only be taken as needed...but the high is soooo fucking great
Great video man. As a mater of fact I just took ONE Oxycodone (seriously) and right now I feel high as hell and it's kinda scaring me... this is SOME STRONG STUFF!
@PWhiteproductions Thanks and yes it is VERY strong. Even in low dosages. Be careful. Look through some of the other comments here just to see how powerful it can be.
@dearpsychonaut I've heard that from people who have used it long term. Their body adapted to taking it and didn't want to re adapt when they stopped. Glad I only took it for a few days.
I bet they took your pain away fast with all that, they used to shoot me up with something called Demeral i think thats what it was, when I used to get major migrains but wow pain meds help, my blood pressure was way to high because of the pain so yea it sucks that they get addicting.
@gfreakj yea I was in major pain after eye surgery, my blood pressure was super high so they gave me some blood pressure meds and shot me up with demeral, the pain was gone, but hours after i felt bad, the vicodin wasnt working, I wish I had oxy at that time.
There is no such thing as be very careful. Whether it's today, tomorrow, or the next day; that shit will get you and leave in both a mental and physical state of despair.
The fine line. Chiropractor blew my neck out 8 years ago. Started with 1 vic a day. I am up to 15 to 20 mgs a day. I think I would often times wish I had never started. Seemed like a good thing at the time. Now, it makes me dope sick even when I take it as directed. Think you can handle it. Maybe short term only. I still debate...Pain or addiction....I am legit too. I have had shots in my neck and many other forms of therapy. WARNING: It can steal your life.
@gfreakj hey there. greetings from England. Im a chronic pain patient and after numerous failed operations on my spine I was given both versions of oxycodone. I've been on them for 6 years and see no other option as surgery has all failed. I've seen your follow up videos and the one where you got FIFTY?! WOW! I dont dispute your pain but thats crazy I get HALF that per prescription! Theres a film now out called oxymorons which is about oxy use in America. im out of space to write now.
@Therealnoel Yes a lot of people are surprised when I tell them how many I was given. It surprised me. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Seems like you are one of many people who has no other option but to take these pills.
I'll look out for that movie. I couldn't find it on Netflix unfortunately.
Greetings ... I am also on the pill trip due to a bad lower back. So.. I gotta oxycodone 15 now. Im worried about taking it but the pain is too much. Ugh.. I hate having to go down this road but no choice now. Once you start out down this road it seems theres no turning back. Even if you quit taking them the cravings for them never goes away. Ugh.. im dooooooooomed :(
@shatomea I understand your concern. I took them for as long as I needed to and then got off them to the point now where I only think of the high I got from them once in a while. Is your condition, as far as pain, something that will get better with time? If so it is not impossible to get off them. It is not a pleasant experience but it is possible. Please don't believe your doomed or it may become a self fulfilling prophecy. One suggestion I have is dont take as much as they tell you to. Cont..
@shatomea They were telling me to take two every four hours. I only took one pill when I needed it. That helped me get off when the pain had diminished. Not trying to tell you what to do at all. Just trying to offer advice and hope.
@gfreakj Thank you for your response. Its so frustrating I guess for me. At 18 I had my first lower back surgery but over the years that followed I had to have 6 more. The nerve damage in my back & legs are severe. Your right the pain is unbarable & thats the major problem. I go to pain mngmnt now but they are reluctant to give me too much so now I have to demand to have something stronger just I can be out of pain to go to work. I have hope but its fleeting for me. I didn't want to be an addict
But now I am an addict though a controlled addict if thats a term that can be used. My pain will never go away as long as i live. I have degenerative disk disease so now I have 3 disks that have collapsed. Pain's a nomal way of life for me & its depressing cause i usually run out of pain meds before the end of the month. So then i detox & get sick from lack of meds. Im so depressed & frustrated.
@shatomea I'm so sorry to hear that. That is a horrible position to be in. Do you live somewhere there is medical marijuana available? I know many people who that has worked for and helped minimize their use of these narcotics? I figure you don't or you would probably already be using it.
@gfreakj I wish so much we could have it cause yesterday while at work I had taken an Opana ER 7.5 to help ease down some of the pain but ended up with such a bad headache I had to go home from work and rest. I've never had anything to give me such a horrific headache before. But ya know, I've found your video commentaries to be most helpful. Thank you for that.
@shatomea It's disgusting that our government will not allow us to use something that will take away some pain in a relatively non addictive way but will allow us to take something highly addictive that is manufactured by big drug companies. It doesn't make me feel like they have our best interest at hand.
@gfreakj I know you do not want to get addicted to it, but what about the sciatica ? Its something you cant even get surgery for it, are you willing to live in pain for the rest of your life ? Good Luck to you.. Pain Pills are an epidemic here in my town. I live in Virginia, and people are crazy for the stuff here. It's nut's.Lol...Peace Tisha :))
@MyTbradley It hasnt been a problem since the last occurrence. I do exercises for my back and stomach to strengthen them and if I am in horrible pain again I will honestly smoke weed again before I take that. If I have no choice I would consider it but for now I am pain free...thank God. I've heard that , as far as people abusing those pills, from people all over the country. Scary.
@gfreakj Hahaha.....Honestly I smoke weed myself.....and let me tell you it is a miracle all on it's own. I love the relaxation part of it all. And when your really zoned out, it's almost like you can actually travel to another place. I Love Weed !!!!! Lmao.....It's the perfect Stuff...:))) Peace Tisha. Oh ...did you ever go to 4/20 in DC ? Cool event, I didnt go this year tho, some of my friends did. They had an awesome and exciting time...Lol
@MyTbradley I quit smoking weed a few months ago. I was abusing it too so it had to go. I have an addictive personality. But if I ever end up with severe pain again I will use that before I ever take those pills again that's for sure.
@gfreakj I have no choice. I have to pick and choose what works best for me because I have Trigeminal Neuralgia . It's where a nerve in my brain swell's up the size of a pinky and it's excrutiating pain. It feels like omg. Death so to speak !!! Hard to describe. So I am on pill's. I get extremely worried about the addition, so I started smoking weed and found that when it makes me relax, my pain starts to subside. Weed is a natural drug. I resort to smoking and try to stay away from the pill's.
@MyTbradley I agree with that 100%. That sounds horribly painful. Using something natural is MUCH netter then those man made pain killers thats for sure.
Be careful. If you take it everyday for more than a week, you will become physically addicted. If you persist, you will become psychologically addicted. Opiate addiction is very real and will change your life in a negative way. Be careful mate. I wasn't.
swim told me hes talkin about percoscete (however u spell that) oxycodone is a generic name for it hes not talkin bout OC's/oxycontin aka the real good shit *shrug* laaaaameee
@gfreakj personally, i do not take drugs for recreational use or anything like that, but like you said in the video it completely takes away all the pain that you feel. it's dangerous to, because i could see people getting addicted easily.
@ZACKnirvana Good that you are able to control yourself. I did het slightly addicted even in the short itme I was on it. I have a very addictive personality though.
I've.. uhh... got this cut on my finger, i need some percocet's.... Oh wait, i already have some (;

oxycontin is simply an extended release formulation of the drug oxycodone...kentucy9999, great to post this stuff about the patients in the clinic you work in. it is not anything that is new. not to mention the lightweight issue. really?smack and hydromorphone and oxymorphone are hard hitting when shot, why the rant on all this? are you a "real addict"? and if you state that you are, i weap for you. all these drugs can be rough. what is with all this foolish info being posted on this site?
timothymstern 4 months ago
Oxycodone, Percoset, Hydrocodone, even Demerol......lightweight sh*t. They give you this "blip on the radar screen" for a toothache or a sprained ankle. REAL addicts use heroin or dilaudid or they shoot oxycontin after crushing it up {40's-80's.} When I worked at the rehab we'd always have two groups going in different rooms. There was one group for the "lightweights" and another for REAL men and women. Worst addiction I ever saw was a xanax/alcohol addiction. 3 wks with no sleep.
kentucy9999 4 months ago
Oxycodone isn't THAT powerful. Oxycontin is powerful. Dilaudid is powerful. If you haven't taken any oxys and you start by taking 10 mg to 15 mg at a time for a sprained ankle it is pretty powerful I suppose. Most people are given an initial dose of 5 mg of oxy and told to take 1 every 4 to 6 hours {no more than 4 Q 24 hrs for pain.} I think oxycodone is an excellent drug. It is cleaner than hydrocodone or percoset which contain acetominaphen. Grow up and simply don't abuse it.
kentucy9999 4 months ago
@kentucy9999 oxycontin IS oxycodone, it's brandname. Anyone that makes a video looking this happy and good about an opiate is in huge trouble, they will soon feel the effects of addiction and be worse off within months, there is no hell like opiate addiction, you can tell someone but when they feel that good they're not going to listen.
TheMensaGenius 4 months ago

@TheMensaGenius Bowdoin undergrad. Boston College grad. See ya.
kentucy9999 4 months ago
@kentucy9999 Oxycontin is powerful but oxycodone isnt...? oxycodone is what gets u high from the oxycontin, thats just the brand name.
TheHoffmanHouse 4 months ago
@TheHoffmanHouse Tell ya what. Go to any rehab and see how many residents are there because they are crushing up 5 mg oxycodone and shooting it. See how many are crushing up 20-40-60-80 mg oxycontin's and shooting them. Oxycontin is a derivative of oxycodone yes. A station wagon and a hot rod are both cars but they perform differently.
kentucy9999 4 months ago
@kentucy9999 BRO oxycontin is not a fucking drug it is a brand name. OXYCODONE is the chemical drug that is in oxycontin that makes you high. U r retarted sorry.
TheHoffmanHouse 4 months ago
@TheHoffmanHouse It's spelled retarded {not retarted} my friend. You're right oxycodone is the drug, but it is the oxycontin {which is a derivative of oxycodone} that any true blue addict wants. Anyone addicted to those little oxycodone pills is strictly a lightweight. The hard cores shoot oxycontin or heroin or dilaudid..............the rest is just lightweight material.
kentucy9999 4 months ago
@kentucy9999 oxycontin is not a derative of oxycodone.....its just a different brand name for it.
TheHoffmanHouse 4 months ago
@kentucy9999 like percocet, which is the brand name, and it contains oxycodone and tylenol.
Oxycontin is the brand name and it only contains oxycodone. what do u not understand

True however opium is also natural and contains morphine and codeine.

Muffinz2go 5 months ago
@Muffinz2go far from a closed mind friend ive had 30 yrs experience using heroin and everything that goes with it sadly , half the problem with opiate problems is realising the symptoms of withdrawal if you dont recognise them you will walk away in a situation such as yours and you may have a sensible dr with fair advice i dont know but to be all cocky and gay about it well good onya and sciatica isa bitch i get it bad from 31 yrs roofing but it aint a 1/18th the pain u can cop using opiates
TheUnDeRGRouNDHoBo 4 months ago
@TheUnDeRGRouNDHoBo I did go through withdrawal, with the mood swings n goin crazy a little. And heroin is a totally different subject for me. morphine is one of the other ones i took and not didn't get addicted, but yeah i still say it's the person. I'm not addicted. I know people can be addicted to things but its not the drug that makes them addicted, they like the feeling so they take more.

Im sure someone told you this already but if not you need to know,

axlfoleyfanatic 7 months ago
just a little fyi....oxycodone works by changing the way that your brain percieves pain signals from the body. however, these changes can also cause euphoria and such which is why it is so addictive. if your going to be taking it for more than a week or so, you better make sure ur dr will either taper you off of it or give it to you for the rest of your life bc withdrawing from opiates is a pure hell

@gfreakj thanks i appreciate it. ive always had an addictive personality....but had never been addicted to a substance before this. for a couple of years i was always able to stop....until one day i just wasnt. thats what makes it so dangerous. you dont know your truly addicted to it until your past the point of no return

@gfreakj hey there. greetings from England. Im a chronic pain patient and after numerous failed operations on my spine I was given both versions of oxycodone. @Therealnoel Yes a lot of people are surprised when I tell them how many I was given. It surprised me. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Seems like you are one of many people who has no other option but to take these pills.

@shatomea I understand your concern. I took them for as long as I needed to and then got off them to the point now where I only think of the high I got from them once in a while. Please don't believe your doomed or it may become a self fulfilling prophecy. One suggestion I have is dont take as much as they tell you to. Cont..
gfreakj 9 months ago
@shatomea They were telling me to take two every four hours. I only took one pill when I needed it. That helped me get off when the pain had diminished. Not trying to tell you what to do at all. Just trying to offer advice and hope.
gfreakj 9 months ago
@gfreakj Thank you for your response. Its so frustrating I guess for me. At 18 I had my first lower back surgery but over the years that followed I had to have 6 more. The nerve damage in my back & legs are severe. Your right the pain is unbarable & thats the major problem. I go to pain mngmnt now but they are reluctant to give me too much so now I have to demand to have something stronger just I can be out of pain to go to work. I have hope but its fleeting for me. I didn't want to be an addict
shatomea 9 months ago
But now I am an addict though a controlled addict if thats a term that can be used. My pain will never go away as long as i live. I have degenerative disk disease so now I have 3 disks that have collapsed. Pain's a nomal way of life for me & its depressing cause i usually run out of pain meds before the end of the month. So then i detox & get sick from lack of meds. Im so depressed & frustrated.
shatomea 9 months ago
@shatomea I'm so sorry to hear that. That is a horrible position to be in. Do you live somewhere there is medical marijuana available? I know many people who that has worked for and helped minimize their use of these narcotics? I figure you don't or you would probably already be using it.
gfreakj 9 months ago
@gfreakj I wish so much we could have it cause yesterday while at work I had taken an Opana ER 7.5 to help ease down some of the pain but ended up with such a bad headache I had to go home from work and rest. I've never had anything to give me such a horrific headache before. But ya know, I've found your video commentaries to be most helpful. Thank you for that.
shatomea 9 months ago
@shatomea It's disgusting that our government will not allow us to use something that will take away some pain in a relatively non addictive way but will allow us to take something highly addictive that is manufactured by big drug companies. It doesn't make me feel like they have our best interest at hand.
Glad to hear my commentaries helpful.
