Very interesting video!

After being here almost 6 yrs, I'm leaving yt at the end of the month. I'd been looking for an alternate site. I heard all the zippcast hype here so I went to check it out, liked what I saw, and signed up. I thought they were a new company-- but from what I have read, they have tried twice to make a go of it in 2010 & 2011, failed, and then shut down with no warning. This causes me not to want to waste time getting invested there.

Is there any other place like zc and yt?

Yes the enthusiasm died quickly for me regarding zippcast. Perhaps in time they will be OK but they have some major bugs to fix but I will start to build things over there too.

I wrote to Google to tell them my feelings about this new "Privacy" plan and i canceled my Google account and will stay with Explorer only. youtube is where its at, I wouldn't worry much about the policy. Google is just covering their own backside. anyhow, it doesn't matter where you say it, but what you say. also, getting a new PC won't matter cause the IP that will be logged is the address you get from your ISP. meaning if you want to be anonymous go to the local library and upload via their connection or use multiple proxies.

Like most here, I'm not fond of ever-expanding amounts of personal information being passed around to corporate interests. Yet, I think it's important to realize that YouTube provides both the makers and viewers of videos quite a lot for free. To survive, YouTube has to earn revenue somehow, and their chosen means is to provide advertisers with steadily improving ways to find customers. To not be subject to this and still enjoy the service - are we willing to pay? That's the alternative.

Stick at it Nib when I first went over to Zippy it was great and uploading was great but over the last few days it has gone to shit, they aren't handling the increased traffic and that's a prob. I am going to stick with Zippy as my backup and hopefully they get their shit together but lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet. I agree YT has the numbers and the reach but on March 1st I think it will descend into a cess pit and frankly I don't think we have a chance at changing it.
