I recently went through this. I had to go outside and defrost the pipes with a hair dryer. Not very fun. Tip, leave your tap(s) trickling a bit. Pipes cannot freeze when water is moving through them. Sure it will increase your water bill slightly, but it will save you a major headache in the long run.

@chachee99 Leaving your faucets to drip can freeze your sewer line instead.
