@killerproctologist88 I think Billy Graham was a great witness of the Gospel message. If you willing to send me your email we can chat better? Take care
What they are talking about is a counterfeit church - The Cainite-Judeo-Christian Religious Church. This is not The Church of God, it's denominationalism or a Church of divisions. There is only one Way and He is The Way and only a few in this age find The Way for narrow is the path and few there be that find it. Are you called and chosen of The Father to His Son, that is the question you need to answer? If you are then you are The Church. Google Charles Crosby at Ezine Articles for The Truth.
We either have to conclude that Jesus hasn't done an exceptional job, or consider that there is a vast difference between what he calls church and what we do.
Lets also be careful not to judge too quickly, this is also much of what we HEAR, many people who claim Christianity are hypocrites, though it is better to be a hypocrite with a great goal, than one who has excepted evil as his friend, but many are not like this... and they are hidden in the flew.
I can appreciate the point-of-view of not throwing the baby out with the bath water, but that's exactly what Christ warned could happen. Christ warned about what would happen if the salt looses it's savour. It would be cast out and trodden under foot. Mat 5:13. Unfortunately many ministry leaders are quick to offer themselves grace about the imperfections of the church, but are very slow to extend that grace to the world around them.
In the alleged message from the Internet, the complaint about various wrong things included the code word "hate" which probably means the fake Christian writing in considers opposing man-on-man anal and saying it's wrong to be "hate".
Let the "Christians" who don't believe in Christianity make up their own crap religion. The Happy Church of Nothingness Where Everything's Ok or something like that.
Je sus is not The Hebrew Messiah Name. There is no letter "J" in the Hebrev Tex. The Letter "J" is not even older than 500 years yet 2,000 ago .The Name "je sus" is not even a Hebrev Name., and cannot be consider a possible name for The "Anointed One " .
Strong's Concordance reference #2424 Greek which leads to reference #3091, the original Hebrev name is Yahushua.
The Christianize ,Sun-Day , is not the Sabbath and bowing down to idols is a sin.
I think you could basically sum the answer up like this: Never judge the integrity of a faith or religion based only on the actions of its followers but rather on what it teaches. I know that some Christians have really given us a bad reputation at times but Christ has never done wrong and we should all follow him.
i think the bottom line is this. we've got 2,000 years of history, about 2 billion who identify as "christians" (clearly the level of devotion would tend to show that we'd be looking at about a 1 out of 10 of those actually being devoted in a real way), but still, that's an enormous number. the world around us would be so very very different if christianity wasn't a failure, i sadly say.
As much as I'm on this guy's side, what he's proclaiming is a total No True Scotsman fallacy. A better answer to the letter would be that although the followers of Christ may have failed in their implementation of it, the message of both Scripture and the Holy Fathers themselves remain pure ideals.
@gabiotta The Pharisees were the religious LEADERS of Jesus' time. Jesus spoke more harshly against them than he did anyone else. He called them "whitewashed tombs"-men who look good on the outside but inside they were "full of dead men's bones." They loved their position, but they sure didn't love people. When Jesus befriended the needy, they got upset that he ate w/ "tax collectors and 'sinners.'" Which is more dangerous...those disguised as followers of God or those who outright oppose Him?
Where will you go to when you die? Have you ever told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain, or looked at someone with lust? If yes, then you are a lying, theiving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. When you die & stand before God you'll be guilty of breaking His law. The bible says you'll end up in Hell! So God sent God His Son Jesus to die for your sins, & He rose from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus died for your sins & was resurrected) you'll be saved!
@gramosjr7, & Confess your sins & turn away from the them, ask Jesus to come into your life and to take charge. Continue to confess your sins each day in prayer, thank him foe his sacrifice. Then - confess him before the world with your mouth!
@gramosjr7 you have no sense of communication. as I Christian, I didn't even want to hear that. That's probably the worst way it could be said. "The bible says[...]" All the atheists and agnostics are going to be turned away from that. That's obviously not what's in their mind, for some authority to instruct them. You have to understand that you are just like every other person, still human, and off your own authority, it's not fair to speak like that. You're scaring people away from Christ.
@john146only what you said was exactly what was driving me away from Christ. do like Christ does, not how you might think you ought to preach the Gospel. God spoke to me, not someone like you. I read on my own and discovered that God was God, and I would still never be willing to listen to a message in the way that you said it, however good and true the actual message is. Besides, no one viewing this video would need to hear what you said. They either know or are discovering.
Are you seriously suggesting that Jesus did not tell people out right that if they did nto repent they would burn in hell? Are you talking your knowledge from the bible bc anyone could look that up? His ministry was a complex mission of healing, teaching, preparation for his death and warning the people of the flames to come? You seem to have some strange "Jesus" that is foreign to the bible and you need to get your hear around the correct one and make sure you are soundly saved....
@john146only Look, what I am saying is that Christ did not threaten people that they would burn in Hell in they would not accept Him. That would hardly have any purpose, as the Pharisees also claimed that people who believed in Jesus would burn in Hell. Who the hell do you think you are, trying to cast fear into my mind that if I do not have the same conception of Jesus as you, I would go to Hell? You are focusing on the wrong thing, that which makes every defense of virtue become a vice.
@john146only And yes, I am wholeheartedly asserting that Jesus worked in a much more graceful way than commanding people to become his followers with the threat of Hell fire to back him up. If you were a convert to the Christian faith rather than one born into it, you should understand that we have a choice, whether we want to serve God in Heaven or have freedom and pure autonomy in Hell. So scaring people with flames and darkness is a very poisonous way for you to go about preaching the Gospel.
Some athiests and agnostics come to the savingtruth that if they don't have the blood of Christ, then they will go on to pay for their own sins in hell and that is a pretty alluring reason to repent.
To avoid hell and to have a reconiclled relationship w/Christ are two of the best reasons to repent and some do and some don't....
@john146only Yes, it may be our duty to preach the gospel, but 1) we must never forget that we ought to do as Christ does, not with unprovoked ignorant shouting at unknown people, and 2) we should expect rejection. I wasn't saved by terror and plain fear of God, but by love. It's the kind of love which relates to awe and revelation, but I found many reasons to distrust one who threatens me to believe. God does not do that. You can't "reason" with someone to repent; it is their choice, not yours.
@jajdr God is both love and justice. As a part of justice, he will punish sin. He warns us all that a day is coming that everyone will be punished or if they have repented, he took their punishment FOR them. You can not seperate God's love from God's justice and revengence. One follows the other. Bc God loves, he will serve up justice to law breakers. I am nor sure that your concept of Jesus is formed from his own word, or your own contrived ideas about him.
What difference does it make to me whether there is rejection or not, we are the voice piece, but God's Holy Spirit is the one who convers the soul. How are people saved through the preaching of the Word and through the Holy Spirit. You are making claims that don't even match up to the bible. There is some matter of reason in portraying a biblical World view. Peter did early in Acts and 3- 5K or so were saved. Paul also did the same thing in Acts. Jesus did the same in the gospels.
@jajdr Isaiah says that God says, "Come and let us reason together and I can make you white as snow."
Why would you be so hostile the God's body that is merly following the job it had been given and are warning of the real dangers of hell, that are a natural consequence of The Lord and his Law? You seem to either need more study of the body or leave the church you are attending, bc you are not being fed the truth, where ever it is you are attaining it from, my dear.
@jajdr Original sin/Spiritual Death/Spiritual Blindness are a result of a world absent of God due to Adam. Romans 5. But this is the very reason Paul tells us to use the Law and show man his sins. And the consequences of that broken law pushes us to Jesus Christ. WE are commanded to present that to people and to make followers of Jesus.Have you forgotten that part of JEsus' commands to the church??
Yehoshua Ben Yoseph (Jesus Christ) was only a very simple man, with no education at all.
He made many mistakes!
It would take a book to describe all of them, according to the Bible.
Because of him, women could not separate from their husbands when in trouble in the last two millenia. Because of him, the prejudice against other people have survived. He believed myths unworthy of his time. He believed that illnesses are produced by devils! He "ordered" the demons to go to..pigs!
@48acar19 You said no education at all, this is unsubstantiated. You said He made many mistakes but refused to list even one. If you do not believe in Christ, fine. To each his own, however, you completely dodged the question I asked you...how has Christ let you down personally and what makes you so bitter against One who stands for good and right?
But if you read the bible to find who this "prophet" was, you would find that Elijah is praised for having killed 850 people just because they have prayed for rain to another god!
How could Jesus praise such a criminal, such a mass murderer?
Yet he did it. Yes, Jesus has let me down with this and many other incidents. It is so obvious that he was an uneducated person! You don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand that Jesus was like 99.99% of his fellow Jews: ignorant.
@48acar19 You are parroting other peoples arguments. The prophets of Baal were not killed for praying for rain. Maybe you should read it for yourself. Uneducated comment is still unsubstantiated and now you have wrecked your credibility by calling all but .01% of Jews uneducated. As far as hiding my identity, this is a forum for expressing ideas and opinions, not maligning the people who participate. Why do you care where I am? I am an American living in Belize, so what?
You really cannot find the biblical paragrapaph that states that the "prophet" Elijah has killed 850 people because they have prayed to a different god for rain?
Christ came to give his authority, spirit and life to the Church, which call them "christians" or "disciples" or whatever title you want to give them, they are the chosen, holy people of the Lord God of Israel....you cannot follow Jesus without knowing his bride, because it is his bride he has redeemed, not individuals.
