Some time in the late 90s or early 00s people started noticing the obesity epidemic in the U.S.

So, rather than encourage parents to see that their kids ate right and got proper exercize, they did what lazy Americans do best:

They sued.

The FCC passed a law banning network TV advertizing of candy/sugary breakfast foods durring cartoons.

Unfourtunatly, those companies were the ones who paid for the cartoons to be made.

So the studios couldn't afford to make them anymore.
