Army does 12-15 months Marines do 6-9 months why? because Marines see more action and they are the top of the spear they go into the most dangerous places in a warzone. Boot camp for the marines is 3 months ( 13 weeks) Army 9 weeks. Marines have more time in the Shooting Range. Marines have more reputation in wars. I respect the army and anyone who serves.
