I'm not sure about the numbers, but yes the church is a primary financier behind City Creek Center, which is aimed at reviving Downtown Salt Lake City. The church is headquartered blocks from the project and I don't see anything wrong with the church making investments in order to become more wealthy. If you understood the history of the pioneers you would be more understanding of why the church is vested in business interests and in having its own large scale welfare system.
