This was the last awesome show from the Scouts, that is until 2011. I hope they are strong enough to stay in the top 12 now because I always like seeing a corps who isn't afraid of playing high, fast and loud!
I don't care for hearing a drum feature which just got put in to show off the drumline. I do enjoy drum features which integrate the show's music into the feature.
@Spoonwood well my friend this is drum and bugle corps. the whole point of the drum feature IS to show off the battery and front ensemble aside from the rest of the show.you must not be a drummer?
@multibuddhane I did march in a drum corps back in the day and I did play drums. I meant my comment as indicating that this break did actually blend with the show music. Not all shows need a percussion feature though.
one of my favorite years for madison - i can hear the delay and believe me... i wish i could have been on that 10 yard line to hear it piss clean. i love madison scouts and always have a special place for them in my heart :) great post for a great year!
this year was so underated by people. i think they really made JCS their own and did a great job with the show. my high school did the show in 98 and i remember seeing a few people in scouts jackets checkin us out(im assuming they knew what their show was going to be and lived near by) when we made a trip to georgia that year
Scuse me? Take it from someone who was there - the mixing/mics on recrodings from that year sucked. That solo was spotless. I know for a fact because I was 10 yards from it. The only time it was dirty was at the first camp is was played.
I was also 10 yards from it...that snare solo was piss clean finals week. You can clearly hear the delay on all initial hits, which makes it sound like ass. The tenors are right in front of the mics...snares...not so much. There's your problem.

I'm trying out for tenors and I really want to be a tenor player ripping notes just tenors only that'd be a great feeling

Scout drumming has always should've been placed a lot higher than they should for a long time. They're really good drummers.
