I never knew that George played guitar on "Oh My Love". I always thought it was John on guitar and Nicky Hopkins on piano. I've been able to play this on guitar since about 1988. It's one of John's prettier songs, and there's nothing wrong with pretty once in a while.
@romans52345 - George went to school with Paul. The school was next door to the Liverpool Art College that John attended. Paul joined the Quarrymen (John's first band) in summer of 1957. Sometime in early 1958 George joined the band through Paul. That's how it all went down. John wasn't sure about George at first because he was barely 15. But George played "Raunchy" perfectly, so John was sold on him after that.
OKay, I know the beatles broke up and all, but I nver understood - how did John and Paul come to "hate" eachother - or did they? Í don´t undestand why it´s George that makes music with John , and not Paul. Can anybody explain to me? XD
@AyAyAyNaru paul and john hated eachother at the end of the beatles, there was like a whole year where the beatles were not working together and john had left the band but it hadnt been publicly noted. paul made a statement that he was leaving the band in order to promote his new solo album. john hated him for this as john had actually left the band almost a year before. ontop of this paul wouldnt accept the new management choices and wasnt as sympathetic of brian epstein. big hatred there
Anyway, when John is showing George the "nasty song", I found it a little haunting. One, because they're both gone because of unnatural causes. When John says "Those freaks was right when they said you was dead, the one mistake you made was in your head", I get this really dark feeling.
People can't stand it when famous people step out of the spotlight and settle down, like get married n' stuff. I feel bad for John and Yoko, they've recieved so much bull from fans of John, "Yoko ruined his music" Yoko this, Yoko that. It's almost as if they feel a certain possesion over Lennon and his career. Like they own him. Nobody owns anyone and Lennon was a free man to fall inlove and marry Yoko. Just as everyone else is. What a mixture of jealousy, misunderstanding, and hatred. Shameful.
HEY JOHN when does Father & Son come together TALKING about your first born SON Julian WHY is all this focus on you & ono & not about the neglect of your SON Julian GUESS sex WAS more important too you

Curse the damn music industry forever for the missing part four
Boycott music industry, dont pay for music anymore if it isnt played live, no one needs this creedy rabble. they killed the real music first and now they try to censor important music history.
I know the 4th part got banned, but can anybody tell me why? Was there nudity or drug use or does Satan come out of the bathroom carrying a newspaper?
6:23 the only mistake you made was in your head... clearly an attack on the mccartney lyric (that was your last mistake) from too many people from RAM, get the impression they have both heard the RAM album (harrison earlier said fab 3 in an earlier jibe) and have decided to attack there more handsome talented care free beatle!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GEORGE IS THERE!!-even after the Beatles broke up they all worked with eachother sometimes-so its not like the Beatles were entirely finished. All 4 worked wit eachother again-even John and Paul
I love what Yoko says about love, its SO very true. I agree with John when he said that the breakup wasn't the end of the world, he and the other 3 got to do what they liked with their lives, and we still got great music from them that we can enjoy today, and who knows? John might not have written any of this wonderful music if the Beatles had stayed together for all eternity ;P.
@known12 Shiiitttt....that might be tons of footage though. Like hundreds of hours, because I heard Michael Jackson's This Is It was trimmed down from like 200-300 hours of footage.
@longview1987 Well I know he got weird alright, put a gun to the Ramone's head, he probabaly went insane, but when I was a boy, he produced Gene Pitney and that guy could really sing, so I kind of stuck up for him, but unless he is psychotic then yes he's a murderer.
@blackcladlizard Oh yes please, she was hated then and still is by those who know the whole story. John was always my favorite, but listening to the early Beatles now, Paul was a better singer, harmonizer, instrumentalist. BTW, "Yesterday" is the most copied song of ALL time. John hates Paul here, coz Paul quit b4 John got the chance to, The Beatles had to put up with her in the studio for 2 years, what a drag that must have been for the other 3.
With 'How do you sleep' John has really shown his 'all you need is love' and 'give piece a chance' at work and George simply emanated with spirituality and wisdom when trash talking about Paul. I mean if that's not hypocritical then I don't know what is. Sad.
John thought that Paul had been critical of him in one of his songs. This was an answer back. Later it was clear that john had misunderstod. Taking drugs makes people think strange things.
About "Norwegian Wood", John wrote the verses based on an affair he had and shared the middle-eights with Paul. In terms of percentage, the song is mostly John's but Paul had his contribution. For more information, google it.
And by the way; When she met Lennon, he was FAR from rich! He was losing money by the boatload in Apple, then his prime source of income the Beatles broke up. Then his solo records weren`t selling. She was never into him for the money. Matter of fact it was HER who made money for HIM later on by showing him how to invest. She was genius in that area. I mean put it this way; When he wanted to put out Double Fantasy no record label would give him a deal, that`s how far his star had fallen.
I tell you what`s incredible t o me when it comes to Lennon and Yoko is how people always bashed or still bash Yoko and her looks, calling her ugly and trash and all that. I mean WTF? OMG, is that Pete Ham in the doorway at 7:54 for a split second? Would love to see more of him and the other Badfingers that were there helping on this record (Joey & Tom). How do you contact Yoko's peeps about that?
muzak is name for elevator music and john actually liked it lol i read that about him in the autobiography by his butler for last 18 months of his life
John looked so devilishly cute when he was playing how do you sleep for George, Ill bet Paul would even laugh if he watched that, well now he would at least
John wrote "How Do You Sleep?" as a response to Paul. John was offended by some things that he thought Paul was saying about him on his album "Ram"
The line "Those freaks was right when they said you was dead" refers to the Paul is dead conspiracy and "The only thing you done was Yesterday and since you've gone you're just another day" refers to Pauls song with the Beatles (Yesterday) and since The Beatles broke up he released another song called "Another Day" There are a couple more references
it boggles me that theres a meaning to every little word of johns lyrics. its like every word has a full story behind it...turning every song of his into a certain code u wanna crack :]
Yes, I caught all of those references. I like the one about "it is Muzak to my ears." Muzak is that company that makes hokey instrumental background music for malls and such.
yes, and the picture where John is holding the ears of a pig, is mimicking Pauls RAM album cover, where he's holding the horns of a ram. a tad bichy? lol
Lennon sure had a sarcastic streak lol The thing that makes him such an interesting person is his ability to pour his raw human emotion into everything he does...(sorry im using present tense, he still seems very alive when I'm watching these little clips)
(the intro to) "oh my love" i think it's called...are you a good enough musician you could tab that shit out for me by ear?...if you've got the time...
I love how Lennon threatin to replace George with Clapton after the White Album sessions when they all got to know Clapton and he uses George for lead guitar and rhythm so much in the 70's. I know Lennon said tons of things he didn't mean thats how he was. Its so nice to see John and George together. Mccartney's first solo album McCartney was pretty low but it had a few good songs Like Teddy Boy, Baby I'm Amazed and Junk.
Ahhh..wouldnt it have been wonderful to have known John & have chatted with him about his life and his entourage..he is a fantastic conversationalist, and very very witty person besides being the worlds finest musician. I had to crack up tho when Yoko asked What is sugar, is it a chemical? (!!)(@ 5 :30) But then dear John starts going on about Henry Tates Tate & Lyle sugar refinery which started in Liverpool. How poignant & nostalgic.
i think yoko thought they meant "sugar" as in cocaine, since she was a dope fiend, and probably heard the slang before but didnt completely understand
lol i like johns impish grin when he's playing harrison 'how do you sleep' and what the fuck is going on at 9:12 yoko wants him to sing it in fucking japanese?!?!
Listen to George say the Fab 3 at 5.13 then mention Beatle Bill. Faul Mccartney, soon the truth will be out about you Mr Shears !!

its interesting seeing george's reaction to "how do you feel". it seems to make him a tad uncomfortable.

John looked so devilishly cute when he was playing how do you sleep for George, Ill bet Paul would even laugh if he watched that, well now he would at least

in what way does "how do u sleep now" has to do with Paul McCartney? whats the intention of john by writing it? :\
eladbari 3 years ago
John wrote "How Do You Sleep?" as a response to Paul. John was offended by some things that he thought Paul was saying about him on his album "Ram"
The line "Those freaks was right when they said you was dead" refers to the Paul is dead conspiracy and "The only thing you done was Yesterday and since you've gone you're just another day" refers to Pauls song with the Beatles (Yesterday) and since The Beatles broke up he released another song called "Another Day" There are a couple more references

wow, thanx for the explanation :]
it boggles me that theres a meaning to every little word of johns lyrics. its like every word has a full story behind it...turning every song of his into a certain code u wanna crack :]
thanx again!
eladbari 3 years ago
No problem! :)
strawberryfields8888 3 years ago
Yes, I caught all of those references. I like the one about "it is Muzak to my ears." Muzak is that company that makes hokey instrumental background music for malls and such.
agentleman121 3 years ago
yes, and the picture where John is holding the ears of a pig, is mimicking Pauls RAM album cover, where he's holding the horns of a ram. a tad bichy? lol
eclecticfire73 3 years ago
i like the song actually..!! but is good that in the end they keep being friends..!!

Lennon sure had a sarcastic streak lol The thing that makes him such an interesting person is his ability to pour his raw human emotion into everything he does...(sorry im using present tense, he still seems very alive when I'm watching these little clips)
johnc310 3 years ago
it's ok, i use present tense with him all the time. I forget he's dead sometimes i really do. ha! ha!
love you John! miss you every day.

How poignant & nostalgic.
eclecticfire73 3 years ago
i think yoko thought they meant "sugar" as in cocaine, since she was a dope fiend, and probably heard the slang before but didnt completely understand
crosbystillsnash68 3 years ago
Sorry, can anyone explain to me what the 'ring off' joke is about at the end? please.
(Jeez, I need to get a life)
eclecticfire73 3 years ago
