  • @unmistakable91 She has talent and as a Navajo, its very uncommon. So what if she got pregnant at a young age. Our ancestors before us most likely were raising families at a much younger age. You say you don't want your kids to look up to her as a role model because of some mistakes she made in life. Maybe you should think twice about what you say, Remember karma is a b*tch!

  • @7730411 And if you are still on your way to becoming a Doctor... I sure as hell wouldn't want you as mine!! Who knows how you would judge your patients.

  • My utmost respect for the native American people.

  • So your mexican

  • @ngv80 Why would you think she is Mexican?

  • @CanyonRecords she looks mexican

  • @ngv80 Nope, she is Navajo.

  • @CanyonRecords I thought she said she is Dine' and Mexican? o.0

  • @EliManningFan896 No she is of the "Mexican People Clan" which is a Clan of the Diné.

  • @CanyonRecords Oh.... Ok. Thanks.

  • @ngv80 so your a Dmb azz

  • @tachininez no your mamas a dumb ass for having you

  • Great voice! We are blessed !

  • Dezbah is my lil sister's middle name. Awesome song :)

  • and go ahead tell me im a so called "hater", lol, im very happy at where my life is at this moment, on my way to becoming a Dr.

  • lol, Yes i want my daughter getting pregnant at 18 years old. yes i want her to be "boy-crazy". I used to know talibah. She went from one boy to another like it was nothing. I want my daughter to look up to someone who isn't that way, who cares more about her personal sucess than the opposite sex. Thats why I feel the way i do about her, because i know more about her than probably most people who watch this. & TEEN PREGNANCY IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST ISSUES ON THE REZ. WE NEED BETTER ROLE MODELS

  • @unmistakable91 Congrats!! You've just won the Vindictive Jackass Award!

  • cool

  • Thank you so much! Just beautiful!

  • Talibah you have a great talent and it is wonderfull to see a young girl keep up the language, thank you.

  • wow i havent heard a good navajo voice like that in a long time....keep up the good job....now i just need to track down your CD....

  • @nativerica You can order her album direct through Canyon Records, just give us a call at (800) 268-1141 or you can visit our website. We would also be happy to send you a FREE catalog that comes with a sampler disc.

  • I like the song. Although there are people that think negative, you bring such great positive energy. Not many Navajo children know their language & I'm proud to say, as a Navajo 16 year old who is LEARNING her language, that you ARE MY ROLE MODEL for keeping with your traditions. :) Beautiul.

  • great voice!! :)

  • I love this. Thanking you for sharing you talent and gifts. Follow your heart. It amazes me people are still full of so much judgment. We all make mistakes; it is what you learn from those mistakes that define you. Good luck and I am grateful.

  • Beautifully done, very proud of this young lady, as for the people who are hationg on her, she did what was best for her in a diffcult situation and hard time, she shouldn't be looked down on for that, she is a beautiful young lady with a bright future and a great voice and it's good to see that the language is being carried on i wish i could say thats how it it where i come from but it's not. But anyhow Very Beautifull voice and Beautiful song! nice job at explaining it too!

  • Wonerful song, wonderful story, wonderful voice.....positive happy facial expression could have been much better. Smile more....

  • I really like your song, yeah there are a lot of jelious people, but dont listen to them. at least your doing something with your talent and thats all that matters. The stronger you stay the more people well know that nothing will get you down. Having a child is a blessing at least your being strong and still putting your music out there. Dont think the others who are hating can do the same. Stay strong.

  • wow a lot of jealous people out there. i so love your singing and speaking skills. :) its like former navajo royalty having a baby 9 months after they gave up their crown. ha! you go girl!!!

  • gotta keep our language....

  • first of all she never stated that she wanted to be a role model, she never said anything about people wanting to look up to her, and if she is pregnant so be it its not going to be the first time someone is pregnant at sixteen, she is expressing a part of our culture, tradition and language, who cares you should applaud her, she is sixteen and can speak some navajo and has a beautiful voice.

  • Comment removed

  • Keep our language and traditioan moving. DOnt let it fade away from you. You have the talent. YOU GO GIRL!!

  • @chulah12 But look at the world today. It's hard to go back to the old ways because of white influence on the younger generation and you can't erase that. But what's done is done. you can't tell people that our ancestors did this and did that because, the truth is, most kids don't even care anymore.

  • I will not judge you, Talibah. I applaud you for loving your ancestry and keeping your songs and language alive. May you go in beauty!

  • @chulah12 Honestly, where do you still see younger people singing like this? do you still see us singing like this, because I don't. Yeah, she made some bad decisions and she sees that.

  • People can be so cruel in this world, but on their hateful words, you can rise to a higher point & thrive for a better life. Love the song. Good luck with all that you do. Keep smilin..dont let anyone bring you down. it's not ur fault that they arent happy with themselve.

  • well what ever medicine she sings about didnt work... hahaha just kidding

    sounds good

  • Even though she may be pregnant, dropped out of high school and stuff, she's still one of my role models :] she makes me want to learn to sing and be proud of where and who i come from :)

  • A great voice of the Navajo People. But if all that been said about Ms. Talibah Begay are true, then she is a true representation of our Navajo youth on the Navajo reservation, Talented yet tainted with the problems of a child growning up in a fruitless environment of the Navajo Nation. Ms. Radmilla Cody also has had her set back, but has blossom into an important fixture of the Navajo People. So to Ms. Begay, reach for that star and let your voice shine. Be strong and Blossom.

  • she is definately not a good role model for our children to look up to, SHES PREGNANT.... she is still in her teen years, our daughters are supposed to look up to this? and from the comments below she dropped out of highschool, can't handle the world today, and now she's pregnant..... WOW, good job talibah!

  • @unmistakable91 What's wrong with her being pregnant? You do know that women used to get married and start families as soon as they went through puberty don't you? Before certain ignorant religions made the beauty of life a sin. She's obviously a talented, driven and successful young native woman. I'm gonna go buy her album right now!!!

  • @unmistakable91 who do you want your children to look up to? hannah montana and the bratz dollz?

  • Comment removed

  • and can you think of a better modern day role model? like, seriously? yeah..

  • Check my videos out on facebook...it's while I was down in New Zealand...

  • Go Talibah Begaye, You Rock. When I Hear This Song, It Puts Me To Sleep. I Love Your Music And Videos Talibah B. May You Walk In Beauty Talibah B. I Love All Your Music. And God Will Always Bless Your Life Ad Journey. Love You Talibah B. Love Your Music And Voice Talibah B.

  • she has such a beautiful voice:) i am navaj but i can hardly understand dine.... and shes my age.... haha so shes doing a great job!

  • wow!....this songs puts me to sleep!...two thumbs up! ;)

  • She doesn't really even know what she is talking about plus she dropped out of school for awhile and she is supposed to be a good role model for our children to look up to?

  • @nizhonib oh really?

  • @nizhonib Im sorry you feel that way about me, the truth is YES i withdrew myself from high school, shiprock high school to be specific, just to make it clear to everyone who thinks this way about me, i withdrew because of the surroundings in that school, all i saw was bad influences such as drugs and alcohol, and that wasnt my intensions on high school and i didnt like it so i withdrew and took home schooling, and decided to finish with my G.E.D so if u think drugs and alcohol is ok to be

  • @nizhonib around then i wouldve stayed in high school, but im against it never done it in my life so it was my decision to withdrawl. If you think i am a bad role model then im sorry you feel that way. I still pray for people that have negative thinking, but my parents told me their are people out there that are going to try and put me down but im over that, i sing cause i love it! its within me, so no one can stop me from doing what i love, im not perfect but who is? I learn from my mistakes

  • @nizhonib I am a person a human being that the creator created, he creates everyone different were all not the same, he didnt make any of us to be perfect, its the road of life! I have many respects for my tradition, i have nothing againt any religion thats how i was raised, I wanna restore our culture our heritage out language! I am only 17yrs old so I dont know how people can be so rude and talk about other people like they've seen me grow up, its hard at times but i get through it!

  • @Nizhonifull92 You're awesome for striving for the right goals in life. I'm a singer too and I love to create music, that has meaning. Dont worry about what others think and yes we are all created differently. We all strive differently and its those hardships and people who don't understand our lives, that should push you to do better... I love you, for taking the pathe that you've chosen...let me know if I can help you in anyway...Music is food to my soul hun and the young are my wings...

  • @nizhonib But thank you for being honest!

  • Nizhoniye' Love all your songs*.

  • Wow! Talibah Begay sounds a lot like Klee Benally's father Jones with some of her tones! Mostly coming into notes. I'm not sure how to describe that. But I hear him there quite often. Thanks for sharing this!

Listen to Díí bee shánah nishlí_igo bee naashá on the "Silence Is a Weapon" and I think you'll hear what I mean.

  • You have a great voice!

  • Very beautiful voice. You do your people proud.
