Well, God has moved me to quit using my anger toward theocrats to just rant and rave and not only try to understand their erronious ways but to counter them with love.
Uh, yes, just not the narrow Protestant, xenophobic hell and brimstone type that seems to pervade the Christian airwaves and radio more so than ever before. I have a much more tolerant view of things. I know its a waste of time trying to pass judgement on people, it tends to turn them away from Christ. Instead, we should preach love and not only encourage them to read the Bible, but dig even deeper and find out where possible cracks in the scripture maybe.
I would like to eventually learn early and middle Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek and Latin. I'd then find the oldest, most original scriptures I could and translate them into English, without all the political intrigue that possibly contaminated the KJV. I'm sure there might be some discrepancies between what God actually meant and what's there, but at least some of the later adding to and taking away from the scriptures would be eliminated. It would be a big task to undertake by myself, though.

I am sure that the translations and even original writings of the Bible at times were altered to acheive this purpose! Many Christians are sheep for thinking that the KJV is completely true and not without error. God did NOT lie, but man did on occasion when he wrote it down. I don't have another Christ!

Do you see my point about proving the Bible wrong? You are starting with the axiom that there are errors in the Bible. Will you give me one please? Now, you can google the skeptics website and I will deal with that as I have many times. But, do YOU have one error or discrepency you can tell me of right now?
And yes, he requires obedience, but he requires us to seek the truth and not just rely on one source. I'm not saying the Bible is filled with lies, but I seriously doubt its perfect by any means. Man is not perfect, man's nature is sinful, man wrote down what God was to have inspired yet it makes sense that they could have messed it up for personal gain on occasion. You should try building relationships with these people rather than yelling at them through a microphone. his tone of voice even comes across as insincere. He is telling people they are going to burn for eternity...claims to love them so much that he must yell at them...yet he is emotionless...no tears...no cracking voice. Almost sounds comical. Like he's enjoying saying it.
