  • Its so epic and sad at once.

  • TEACHER: future me (except in jet)!

  • コブラって技、レシプロじゃ出来ないんだっけ。でも格好いいなスカイリィは。

  • @205hamasen ユルギス・カイリスって人がレシプロ機でコブラを成功させてるよ。

  • ティーチャーつえーなぁ

  • Good Lord, the Teacher is brutal. Even after he shoots down a plane, he still goes for the pilot that bails out and kills him!

  • 壮大で、儚く・・・。素晴らしい作品です。原作も、是非読んで頂きたい。

  • @shikiharuko whatever you said... you're right, buddy.

  • im just curious but the TEACHERS aircraft the skyly J2 is that a real aircraft.... i know that the J7 Shinden is but idk about the skyly J2 if any one knows if it was a experemental aircraft and its origin let me know i would be very interrested to know about it

  • @robstein4eva it's fiction. Skyly J1 was on the game.

  • 機械に人がミンチにされるカットややだねー 00:35

  • Im gonna sell my car and buy a Sky-Ly.

  • hmmm.. there was 3 launtern plane, teacher only killed 2 o.o

  • @takutanuva937 than he woudl be god!

  • wait.. teacher have a gun in front of his proppeler??

  • @takutanuva937 thats usually a 20mm cannon used for more armoured targets like a bomber, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 had one just like that in WWII

  • Great fucking movie, great fucking movie!!!!! If you're a fan of anime, you should watch this!!!!!!

  • 1:02 HOLY S*** did he just do a cobra manuever??? i didn't knew cobra maneuver was even invented in that century! it was first performed on 1989!

  • @takutanuva937 He just pulled a Maverick :D

  • @takutanuva937 Tryed to do this manuver in Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover ... I alway stall xD

  • @zizikelizike do u think that manuever will actually work in real life?

  • @wassup048 yep ... it does ... but I'm not sure if it works on propeler engines ... it definetley works on jet engines.

But yes I'm well aware that it doenst look like this ... if you owuld make it ... you'd only have a second to actually shoot the taget before it would be to far away doe to the ammount of energy lost in that maneuver

  • @zizikelizike yeah, other than that, the chance to stall's high

  • @wassup048 try googling for Pugachev's Cobra

  • Why do they speak in broken english when they're inside the jets issuing battle orders to one another? Could have just kept the whole dialogues in japanese, it's completely ridiculous.

  • @mmaccoutinho It depends, they are not in a real war, they´re like in a game... and the air industry talk in english every pilot, doesn´t matter where they´re from.

  • 7 dislikes were Rostock Iron Works pilots

  • An amazing movie, I still don't understand why so many people did not like it. Probably has something to do with their attention span or level of maturity. The story is compelling, and the aerial choreography is amazing.

  • @Humbertusmarius sounds like you understand it perfectly fine :)

  • @voxtelnismo. Thanks.

  • Very, very nice work AcDie. Original sound and music. Its not like others AMV with no sound effects and stupid musics.

  • i just finish this movie and it was so epic the ending was OMG!

  • TEACHER!!

  • the first kill should've been deflecting shooting to be possible

  • MAMORU OSHII???

I hit the ceiling with my head when i read this.

    I'm so buying it tomorrow!

GITS is THE BEST THING I EVER SAW!!!!!!!!!!!

  • tht looks sick

  • Anyone who has played the Wii game of The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces would hate this movie like me... we worked so hard to be known as the Black Cat by Lautern forces and Cheetah as Rostock forces... Only to defect onto Lautern in this movie?! WE WORKED SO HARD TO FREAKIN SHOOT DOWN OUR OWN WINGMEN AND DESTROY A MASSIVE FLYING FORT FOR THIS?!?!?!?! CMON!!!!!!

  • @DarkVengeance0938 The game was made for the movie, so you have it completely wrong, you should be happy to get to play as the faceless villian from the film. I still oddly wonder if Maumi later becomes Kusanagi, would of made the game so much better, explaining why in the film she was so obsessive with fighting the Teacher. Because despite being clones they do get repressed memories back sometimes as Yuichi calls the Teacher his father out of the blue.

  • skyly d=is like an EF-2000

  • Guys, you're right...this film is just amazing!

  • Amazing

  • I love when at 1:27 the Teacer's Skyly sounds like a cat =D

Souns awesome, especally because there is a pantehr on it's nose :3

  • cool opening...

  • いつも通る道でも...

    違うところを踏んで歩くことが出来る。

    いつも通る道だからって...

    景色は同じじゃない。

    それだけでは、イケないのか?

    それだけだから、イケないのか...。

  • iI got this for christmas and still not unwrapped it. Think i'll give it a watch today

  • Oh shit. I just realized Teacher is my mom.

  • Comment removed

  • That sucks that the guy jumped out of the airplane just to be shot.

  • スカイリィは見るからに強そうだ

  • Beautiful movie.

  • the guy got despaired when he figured out that he couldn't beat the teacher. very sad.

  • the teacher is the best

  • Watching this strait up makes me cry... So... deep... depressing... realistic...

  • I think that's so sad how the pilot couldn't even eject from his plane without being blown up. That's a perspective you don't hear about too often in history, but I'm sure stuff like that happened infrequently.

  • 0:39 looks like a Russian Yak.

  • @Thesixthgoon If you are refering to the teachers skyly looking like a Yakovlev Yak then i think you are inccorect, the skyly is apparently based on the british westland wyvern :)

  • @foreverbrotherinarms hmmm never heard of that plane. TO WIKI! Anyway, I'm sure you can see why I thought it was based off of a Yak. In the end it matters little, I just love prop planes.

  • is that a movie or series?

  • @csll15 Movie. Completely awesome. Worth every cent.

  • This was such a great... gorgeous movie...

  • Exciting combat scene + sad music = AWSOMENESS

  • I absolutely love this movie, unfortunately it does not appeal to people with short attention spans, who don't like movies that make them THINK. That is why there are so many out there who found this movie boring and gave it bad reviews.

  • Man, I was so hoping to know who that Teacher pilot was....hardcore ace!

  • This movie is amazing.

Mindblowingly awesome dogfights, great characters, story that makes me want to read the books!

  • I wish this was in theaters near me

  • Most shoking/beautiful opening sequence ever. Gotta love this movie :D specially Oshii fans

  • - a poetic and brutal dog fight...awesome!

All the planes in this anime are inspired by Jap planes which only became prototypes or never left the drawing table. - the Kyushu Shinden, Kawasaki Ki-64 and Ki-98

  • @CapKorzeniowski very interesting indeed O:

  • @Youboga

Si, es muy interesante ... y me encanta la sonida del supercharger en 1:24 ;)

  • CGはまだ薄っぺらいおもちゃに見えるなぁ

    まだ、きちんと描いた方が重厚感がある

    オネアミスの方が上に見える

  • I suggest watching this movie when you're fully awake... I've seen Ghost in the Shell, I've seen Avalon... so my friends and I thought, Hey, this movie seems like it could be good!

And it probably is, the problem is that ALL of my friends fell asleep watching this, we just couldn't sit through it all.

It's not a bad movie, just... watch it when your eyes aren't getting weary.

  • @XavielTheWarlock I agree.. I decided to not show this to friends unles I know they will sit and watch it completly.

I haven't showed my friends Patlabor 2, they won't probably understand what the hell is happening. To much backstory I guess... but I believe is one of Oshii's best works (in mi opinion, oviusly). Is a shame really not to share something u know is amazing.

  • arent those german planes? the ones with propellers on the back?

  • @Kionsuu not really, Sweden and Japan had this kind of design but never met action since ww2 already ended. This is the JWJ Shinded i think.

  • @magicstorm1 yeah i just researched it, i shouldn`t base what i think is historically correct from blazing angles 2...

  • @Kionsuu racist

  • @babyfoxgrant how?!

  • Looks awesome if it is by the same man who did ghost in the shell then it has to be good. I mean thsi man is almost on the same level as Miyazaki (Spirited Away, howl's moving castle, Laputa castle in the sky, Nasscia of the valley of the wind) all great anime feature films but Televison doesn't do them justice and I Know becasue My family owns a big screen tv. i fyou have to wacth them that way at least make is a plamsa screen or a falt screen

  • that *splat* at 0:33 is brutal

  • Such an awsome movie. Makes me cry everytime I see it. I miss you, Kannami T_T

  • @xbattybat don't worry he'll be back

  • @Youboga

    yayyy :D

  • I love WW2 style ariel combat, and even made a custom fighter plane on ACAD as a high school project. I still get chills every time I watch this beautifully brutal intro.

  • I so love it when the teacher goes by and the plane makes this cat noise .... aaaaaaah chills xD

  • Fantastic. More 3D than "traditional anime", however...

  • This movie came out awhile ago already. I already got my hand on the dvd luckily.

  • A game is made for this......yay....

  • Looking forward to watch this!

  • the teacher owns

  • damn you see that guy get shot mid air? brutal

  • この映画、3回見ました。それだけ見ても奥が深い映画です。キルドレって。。。この映画、もっと世界で評価されてほしい!

  • it isn't an anime, it's a movie.

  • @PescheClarke

    It's an Anime.

    An Anime movie...

  • the engine noise of "teacher" is just badass

  • this is the only legal dog fight

  • The pusher type plane is almost identical to the Kyushu J7W1 Shinden that flew as a prototype at the end of WW2.

  • 7 days before the surrender

  • @Kayakspearo1

its so similar...i think the creator got the idea from the real plane.

  • i think so too

  • yea

  • That guy is brutal. Spolier Alert: But I hate that they don't shoot him down at the end, it annoys me...

  • Comment removed

  • @TaishoAce1001 That would be way too predictable. It would also conflict with the theme.

  • @TaishoAce1001 yeah man it annoyed the hell out of me too.

  • Don't you be dissin' the Teacher

  • @TaishoAce1001 the teacher is the only adult pilot in this war game entertainment. That means he is a veteran and alot of experiences already. While the young clone pilots are still fresh from training and have not seen much action.

  • Damn Straight, Ignas1337!!!

  • you guys don't know what you're missing not seeing this on the big screen!

  • @Ignas1337 I know and I really regret that they didn't display it in Poland ><

  • @Ignas1337 i watched this on my 92" projector screen and you are so right on this! its much better on a huge screen! <3

  • @Ignas1337 not posibiliti where y live :) so torent is in order

  • @Ignas1337 EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!! i got a projector at my hosue surround sound. ITS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That one plane looks a lot like a westland wyvern.

  • is it bad that this makes me want to become a pilot in the worst way?

  • Imagine this guy in a damn fighter jet, I would hate to dog fight this guy.

  • @itrytofight it wouldnt evenn be considered a dogfight if he uses long range missles and you dont notice it lol

  • @itrytofight not for long I am afraid D:

  • Finally I've found the movie more beautiful than yukikaze

  • man this movie looks so awesome on bluray

  • Holy Hell.

  • Teacher is one ruthless MF...

  • Hmm, that plane looks pretty much like a Mustang with an extended nose for the engine, which I agree with Humbertus, has to be to a doubled V-16 engine with a custom air intake.

Still who cares, its a damn cool plane!

  • @Gideon020 i said the same thing

  • @Gideon020 I am really impresed about how many of u know so much about planes... =D tahts awesome

  • Teacher's plane, the Skyly, looks like it has a V-16 engine, or maybe a a double V which would mean 32 cylinders! Truly a "piston engine zenith" unequalled in the "real" world World War II. I don't get tired of watching this trailer.

  • Amazing movie. Does anybody know exactly what 3D software was used in this movie? I know they used Vue for the skies and landscapes, but which modeling and animation package? Great post.

  • 0:26

Sounds oddly like a Pokemon to me although I can't get my finger on which one O_O

  • Sounds oddly like a Hailfire droid from Star Wars to me. xD

  • Good ear- the sound was commissioned from Lucas' Skywalker Ranch.

  • I liked the film, though the story is developing slowly. Unbelievably good effects though, the skyfights look real and intense.

They must have watched material on planefights over and over for days or weeks. ;)

  • It's kinda morbidly fascinating watching someone bailout of a plane then get

mowed down. And was that the main character's previous self (before death)? or was it one of the other guys that got shot down?

  • I have read that at the end of WII, when Luftwaffe volunteers were carrying out air to air collisions against B-24's and B-17's, the Americans started to kill German pilots after they had bailed out. They knew that once on the ground these Luftwaffe pilots would get more planes and ram the bombers again. I guess chivalry is the first casualty of war on any side. A Messerschmitt propeller could cut through the tail of a bomber like a shark through flesh.

  • Visuals were fantastic, hated the story, it was just a sad rip off of the novel 1984.

  • teacher is GOD!

  • @haboku kick ass GOD! D:

  • um i dont get it, the teacher is that guy father but he kills his own son at the end can someone explain this to me

  • hell i don't know a watched the movie twice and everything made sense the second time around except for that

  • Mamoru Oshii with Kenji Kawai music...

Gotta see this some day :)

  • @Pzgraf

    Watched it,

    loved it :)

  • A brilliant film according to me, with a mature story!

  • This movie was beutiful

  • hmm well, has this came out yet ?

  • loooooooong time ago u can even download it

  • actually, i already wacthed it ! it was good ; )

  • haha ok

  • Yes I agree this movie does take its sweet time climaxing but that feeling you get you get from the characters and you progress and find out little by little what they've gone through you start getting that post depression and tensed feeling whicj is what a movie should do 4/5 stars.

  • @fjdsjn "... post depression... feeling" man i love your comment made me laugh... But you are 110% right O: this is so awesome, I heart sad endings. "Oh cool a dogfigthing movie" screw that! this blows your mind then rip your heart and you wanna see it again! :D

  • i love how my brain feels after watching these types of movies...the movie "stay" was like this too.

  • omg guys this film is fucking brilliant i just finished watching it and theres so much truth to it. were everyone fighting in the movie is a clone and show how a man makes his own war and own bases and shows how the clones didnt actually no they were clones. very awsome and defintly a mind trip. its like when i here people say i wish we could build machined to fight wars for us. well if we had machines fighting wars for us wars would never end there would be no sympathy. just who has the most $

  • This is a terrific movie, with a terrific theme. It probably needs a prequel or sequel to explain much more about it. I think the story could have progressed faster, but I think they wanted to create a certain feel of fatalistic depression in their characters and I think this is conveyed quite well. I would give it a B+/ A- for a review. Definitely worth the rent!

  • @viper8red actually is based on some books (plural). Don't know if we could get our nasty little hands on them though

  • A good deal of Japanese anime generally has very introverted and introspective characters that are rather solemn, coy or reserved. It also often exhibits a very fatalistic and unescapable sense of destiny and usually centers around a theme of trajedy or sadness. It is interesting that their animations and films would mimic so much of western authors like Edgar Allan Poe, or Shakespeare who were also fond of fatalism and trajedy as iconic themes.

  • Poe and Shakespeare are child's play compared to the deepness Asian trajedies. The guy is right you're so westerncentric

  • beautiful op scene - but I've heard that the rest of the movie was a bore

  • well, i think if you like ghost in the shell, or I am legend this kind of film. You will like this one

  • well your mind has to work to keep up with the story...otherwise youll get lost and then, yes, it would become a bore. :D

  • I met the Producer for this movie when I was in Japan. They are the same people that did Ghost in the shell. Fantastic animation. Movie is great but expensive.

  • if you go to redbox you can get it for 7 dollars...though its used.

  • well, the music is absolutely nice but it doesn't fit the dog fight scene, needs some intense music to demonstrate it ^^. I recommend you guys to watch this movie call Sky Crawlers

  • cause this is not the orginal music for this part of the scene= ="

  • lol, that's for sure

  • Really. Because I think otherwise. Its at a different level then what you would first think.

Subtle music. Beautiful kind of almost sad music. Emotions. Picture yourself being the pilot in the scene and think that this was your entire life right in front of you.

Play it again with that in mind and maybe you'll see it work or not. Its up to you.

  • when i watched this video i had some initial D music on,fitted very well loll

  • @bunsinh456 how about Drowning Pool's "Bodies (Let The Bodies Hit The Floor)" that'd be awesome (sarcasm).

  • this movie was absolutely amazing.
