Since that movie, all I (and I suspect others) want is a 2 hour movie that shows the bleak battlefields, the resistance plotting hit-and-run actions deep underground and Connor leading the charge against armies of robots. @joltster109 there was confirmed talk over re-starting an entire new Trilogy and that Salvation was the first in the Trilogy, they also confirmed that they would be making the second one. However the studio who were making the new Terminator trilogy had become bankrupt, so any plans of making the next Terminator movie has been delayed until further notice. There are talks of an animated reboot from an entirely different company though.

The original theme from the first film was to express the single-minded and relentlessness of Terminator, but when T2 came about it became a bit more warmer as a "Hope of the Future" theme. T3 used a bit of this for its own theme, but it seemed more militant and it was given intensity at the last half. This version is along the lines of the first emergence of the Terminators and the Resistance losing the fight to Skynet.
