yamaha has the best 4x4 system. you can run limited slip for slick trails and steer well or you can hit a button and go to locked. with a polaris front wheels only spin when the rear looses traction and that aint gonna help your front wheels stay stuck to the mud... thats just the truth polaris fanboys
polaris is the best..my sportsman 700 went through more shit than my friends kq700 in the swamp..he had mud tires and my sportsmans was stock..still got to love polaris
Well I'm glad to hear good things about Polaris Wheelers. I just bought an 2008 800 EFI/HO its a great machine. I did much research on all makers and models. I just couldn't get over how big and beautiful this thing is! I love the metallic sunset red and duel exhaust. Which I will change to stainless at some point. Anyone no where to go to get good Accessories for my machine like Bumpers, Exhaust, and winch??? Thanks I'm kinda new to this!
yes it does. not in acceleration but on top end it does quit a bit better then the polaris's. we have a 04 wich is bored out to like a 550 now and that used to top out at 59 and our new 06 sportsman tops out at 56 and my outlander tops out at 64

Too big for me?
haha how long have u had it? i have 2 they both r having problems. we bought one. the 04 for 3,500 and by the time we rebuild the engine we r going to put over 3,500$ into fixing the thing. we also have a 06 and has ALREADY gone threw a starter. i just dont like them at all. i prefer my can am anyday over both of those polaris's and my can am is a 400 and beats the 100cc bigger polaris's at almost everything

Then why don't you sell them instead of still putting money into them. I have a Sportsman 500 and I love it. I've had it since 02 and all we've ever done to it is replace an axle and do some oil changes and regular yearly maintenance. There considered one of the top atvs around.
ya maybe in 02 but there is better things now like fuckin can am 62 hp and tops out at 78 and if we sold them we wouldnt get allot of money out of them so we wouldnt have enough money to buy new ones
Who cares what they top out at? 4x4s are made for slow mud riding. I'm just saying that not every Polaris is shitty. I'm not putting Can Am down either. I have a Skidoo sled with the Rotax motor in it and those motors (which are also in the Cam Ams) are really good motors. Their only atvs, not Hummers. There's only so much they can handle before they break, whether it's Polaris, Cam Am, Arctic Cat, or Yamaha.
i know im not saying my can am is perfect i just broke the yoke saterdaypullin 1,700 pounds. it was because my universal joint was dried out so it just broke. and i got to fix the shifter to. maybe its just how we ride them. but can am does go fuckin fast and doed good in the mud i just got some mud tires and it easily keeps up with the polaris;s in mud and in someplaces does better

I agree with you 100% I just bought a Sportsman 800 I looked around the internet and listened to many peoples comments on all machines. And everyone had its Pro's and Con's. If you use your Wheeler for what it was built for instead of beating the piss out of them. And seeing how much abuse they can take untill they break. I agree there ATV's not Hummers...lol

hi. Are the 800 bigger and heavier than the 500? I am considering the xp550 ore maybe 850. But the 800 and 500 are maybe better for work.
