US corporations haven't built a new factory in the US in decades all their new factories are built in Mexico, China or other third world countries to import into the US which makes sense if u want to sell a product put the people out of work u want to sell ur products to..the only companies building factories in the US are foreign companies here to take advantage of the low labor cost-high productivity of US workers
So unreal.... we are in a total melt down, yet TV news tells us we are on the road to recover.. read the news as reported in yahoo.. and a dip of .07% in the economy, ACTUALLY means we are growing!!
WTF?
we are being lied too.. and when the truth hits this pile is going to come tumbling down, like CIT
The alleged "cash for clunkers"...they also failed to reveal how many of those consumers, who took advantage of that tax payer funded abomination, should not have been allowed to participate. Yes sort of like those who were given mortages who should not have been given a mortgage. YUP...
This is why I love your channel! I LOVE the way you tie in history and logic into your analysis of current events. It always gives me a fresh perspective in which to see things. Thank you. :-D
I agree. But look how many people shop at Walmart regularly. Consumers are to blame too because we got greedy and wanted cheap above all else -- at our own expense (no pun intended) in the end.
Hell, I remember the media showing old Russian soldiers who had fought in Afghanistan laughing at us for entering. They kept shaking their heads and said "Don't you see you can't win? We couldn't!"
I agree with what you've said, but I've been more curious about the length of time this decline will take and the character of it. I can't seem to get a good handle on that, perhaps because that's probably one of the hardest things to both predict and describe accurately since it hasn't happened yet. All I get are snippets though. Some think, ok 6month. Oh it'll happen over 18 month. Oh, it won't even start until 2018. Etc...ect...ect... If you come up with anything, let me know.
Keep it real, like Israel...Iraq...Afghanistan...put them all in (Indian) reservation, control who goes in and who goes out...maybe? Call me crazy??? Photo I.D. every person from each, reservation anybody out of the leave them where u found them just like El Salvador...hahahaha
It all boils down to profits. Business is business. There is no such thing as loyalty with business/corporations. That's why I always laugh when someone tells me to "buy American" when I get a car. What a joke! In that case I should by a Honda since they probably have more American made parts over here than "our own" companies do. Most of the parts in GM, etc autos are made in Mexico or somewhere else, not here that's for sure. They've never had loyalty to us, and never will.
China is actually smarter than all that - they are building a huge solar field because they recognize peak oil.
They are also using our dollars to buy durable and tangible goods - for example that solar plant is being built by an American company with dollars and it's going to us Chinese labor paid in Yuan - they are way smarter than our...ah what leaders?
When people awake from their slumber they will question everything. Moving to Asia might be the safest option for you and family as well. Marc Faber lives Thailand, its not a bad option as well. Sawaadee.
John, I've always been under the impression WWII got us out of the last depression -- Once we entered into the war, production started up (largely for the war effort) and continued when the boys came home. So, I guess you're right, we did produce our way out of the Depression, but it took a war. . . unfortunately. I hope we don't repeat that "fix" to get out of THIS Depression.
Great point about empires and Afghanistan. I'm from that part of the region and had been telling all my college professors about the history, but nobody every thought that we could screw up in Afghanistan. Thanks for your videos, happy fasting!
Looks like they're going to bail out more banks. OMG how the hell is this happening? Somehow subsidizing smaller banks is going to solve things. They have mastered the postponement of the inevitable: Total collapse which is directly related to a fall of the currency. The prediction anxiety is at an all time high. Maybe the pole shift and Y-type solar flares coming in 2012 will put this economic system out of its perceivable misery.
if stock is low, won't there be a uptick in durable goods eventually? or is there just not enough demand?
Short of nuking the entire country of Afghanistan, we will never change them. Not sure why we are trying to - at least we know Iraq is about oil - oh yeah and freedom and terroists, anyway whats Afghan got that we need so much?
You are forgetting the Oil in the Capian sea! Ultimately it is about oil now. Then (Alexander) it was about the silk road. The Silk road was the Internet of the ancient times. Goods and Knowledge. Same shit, different reasons.
Afghanistan= Bankruptcy. That's what the powers that be have wanted all along-- a bankrupt US means a new global currency that they control--- and they don't care who gets hurt or blamed in the process. The puppetmasters will most likely soon begin the process of profiling scapegoats for the economic collapse in the mainstream media.

Your "cash for clunkers" was a pretty stupid implementation. Here in Germany the cost of the goverment stimulus was just as high as the VAT.
So at least there was no additional budget problem.
