    Thank you

    Obrigada

    Grazie

    Gracias!

    Lindo!

  • Amazing! So powerful. Janggu is such a beautiful traditional Korean music form.

  • really a good example of how intricate seated janggu performances can get. I do think that the video owner should include his name (Kim Ungshik) in the info for the video, though.

  • @CBSaeji Thanks for the info. Do you play janggo?

  • @tamborero88 yes, but when watching this video it's embarrassing to say I do. Because this man has more ability in one fingernail than I have in my whole body.

  • who is this drummer? he is superb.

  • I kill procrastination with this. Every time I listen to such strong and deep percussion, my blood starts to rush, making want to work hard.

  • Nice! This is same as our Awaaj drum from India. It's rare nowadays, only place I have seen was northern Karnataka. It's use is more then 3000 years old. Looks and sounds the same as janggu...It has been largely displaced by the Dhol nowadays.

  • @intezam

The same for Janggu, I think indians and Koreans have similar culture in terms of musical instruments. ^^ I love Indian music btw.

  • .. 무당 장구다...

  • cool! thank you

  • just visited a 3 day workshop - and we played it the other way around. the "bamboo stick" with right hand and vice versa...just wonder if this is important...

  • it depends on whether you are right-handed or left-handed. usually you hold yeolchae(thin bamboo stick) with your right hand if you are right-handed and vice versa. however there are people who do it the other way because of the sound difference or because it's more comfortable for them.

  • His drumming is splendid and exciting! When learning drums,if well trained,it should come equally on both hands even though we might write more with right or left hand!

  • It's so fantastic!~

  • really good!

  • Yes..I've heard from a Janggo instructor who told me that; Left-handed can play much better and stronger than Right-handed people. And I'm left-handed. I could feel the power when I hit the Janggu, it's true!

    Anyway the play is fantastic!

  • Incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I felt that every beat of the drum came to life and hit my heart. I couldn't sit still.

  • Lol i wonda who da bigger fag is?

go take ur shit else where~

  • This is Kim Woongsik (김웅식). He is a member of the famous South Korean percussion group Puri.

  • He is an amazing drummer! He is left-handed and I've never seen left-handed Jang-Go drummer. wow.....

  • really not even kim duk soo??

    lol

  • kimduksoo aint left handed.

he js played it that way

    since he was young.

  • AMAZING!!! I was wondering when his arms fell off. He must be worn out after all those crossoever beating. Anyway I have been stuck on it quite some time. Very addictive. Searching where I can buy this music or video stuff. Any information or recommandation would be appreciated. Thanks for sharing.

  • Excellent!

  • wow...

  • WOW! That is humbling and inspiring. I am not Korean but I bought a janggo and have been trying to teach myself how to play it. Now I see just how far I have to go.(perhaps I should find a teacher) Anyway, thank you so much for posting this! This gentleman is a fantastic drummer. I'll keep trying.

  • where did you bought your janggu drum? and how much?

  • @heraavria On ebay, please search "janggu or janggo" size for kids, adults, dancing, or sitting.
